Features include: Wooden fingerboard which stops buttons level on fingerboard Groove on side of fingerboard Italian reeds c/w plastic valves Bass strap adjuster This is the information the beginner should look for when choosing an accordion. If you buy a good accordion that has these features then you are half way there, the rest is down to you, lessons practice etc.
Wow, you're a really good accordion player! Also, does the age of an accordion affect its sound quality? I have one nearly identical to yours, but its nearly 50 years old and seems a bit creaky.
Someone gave me an old training diatonic button accordion with this layout. I had NO idea the right-hand buttons could be played like that, in that order to make that progression. I've been limited to 'doo dit dit doo dit dit' style music because of total lack of any examples, and just figuring it out. Also, quick question: If I feel like i'm running out of air all the time, does that mean the reeds are going bad, or i'm just using too many low notes for this style accordion. I notice you don't draw low notes (left hand) for very long... Just barely boop them.
I can't find any that will work for my accordion I have an old one and don't what brand it is and I have listened to so meny and nothing is like mine or will work like mine sorry for bad spelling XD
Ljust got a bc button box yesterday, I have played fiddle and whistle in the past, unfortunately due t an accident injuring my left hand cannot play fiddle. What I really need is a chart of what notes each button produces on the push and the pull, if I had that I am sure I could figure out how to play the tunes I once knew on fiddle. Does such a thing exist on RU-vid, and if so where? Would appreciate any help you could offer.
This is a Garmoshka. If you're trying to sell a Garmoshka as a beginner Bajan, then you're daft. Bajans are Chromatic, Garmoshkas are Diatonic. Think of it like Sheng and Sho in a sense. A Sheng is Diatonic, while a Sho is Chromatic
Your best bet is to get an accordion tuned in GCF and made in Italy, as that will get the banda sound you're looking for more than Irish instrument would--though playing Mexican music in B/C would be very interesting!
Mexicans play 3 row diatonics (and play mostly on the pull). The pulling style doesn’t transfer well on 1 or 2 row instruments which are more for push-pull styles. It’s definitely possible to play a few songs but for a beginner you should learn with the proper instrument.
