Dig a fire pit in the shape of a key hole. Main fire in the round part. After your fire has been going long enough to have some good coals. Shovel your coals in the slot of the key hole. Then just lay a grate across the slot and cook. Can cook meat right on the grate/expanded metal or what ever grill you want. Can set pots and pans on there as well. The size is up to you. Can make more than one slot for cooking more stuff. Steak on one slot, pots and pans on the other slot. This way all you need to bring is the camp shovel and the grates. Easy to store and carry numerous grates.
You cuties are really dedicated campers camping when it's cold out. I love Brooklyn! You are giving your kids some great family memories. :) Love the over the fire cooker. I have been missing Row by Row.
Thanks so much for watching! We had a million blankets and an extra heater so luckily we were toasty ;) row by row should be back on the regular rotation by now!
@@PopUpLife Oh that's great. I haven't seen it my notifications. I thought you had quit the show for winter. I will check it out. I love you and your dad together on that show.
Here’s an idea to help with your camp cooking...take your camp shovel and dig down a bit to get some space between your grill and the fire so it’s not so hot to cook on.
