Can't wait to see the video of how your trip went. You are just like me when it comes to equipment carried. I am also very conservative. After many years of tripping in the north country. I have had a love hate relationship with portaging. I carried a waterproof brief case once for my camera gear. My group complained most vocally about having to carry that case. Are you planning on carrying that canoe by yourself or both carrying it while carrying packs?

Hey Brian the new video is out! I agree with the love hate relationship with portaging, as I am really still learning them and trying to improve from the experience. I carry a pelican case and have just been carrying it myself. We do a double portage normally for now, we carry the canoes down then the gear, both packs we carried where around 40lbs. Looking forward to more trips and learning more!! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my videos!!

I have seen it snow 9/8/ 2008 and a yr or two before 95 degrees sept 30. Pack for all weather is my approach

So how did it go? Wondering if there are any "lessons learned" from this - things you think went well, things that may not have?

One or two portages we usually bring more stuff as you don't have to lug it around. Longer trips we bring the absolute minimum and it's usually still too much. By the 6th portage on day 1 I'm usually saying why did I bring that?! 35 years BWCA experience and still never get it right 🤣
