I really love the champion Panther , it’s my favorite disc , I play solo Panther rounds only disc I use sometimes Panther , highly recommend the champion Panther
Instead of a Sidewinder I would go with a DX Valkyrie in the 165-170 range. For a beginner the Sidewinder will present issues with control and flight path.
Save your money and don't buy new discs. Instead, build a rake (about $50-$80) and start raking ponds. Once you get a decent collection of putters, mid-ranges, and fairway driver, you are on your way. Discs are so overpriced, it's criminal. With the big contracts being more frequent, prices will keep increasing. I'll never buy another new disc.
These classics are the best and that's solid advice. I've never thrown the Panther, always too worried it would go OOP I've played 20 years and disc subtleties may go un-noticed my beginners. What is also good for new players is to look at the flight numbers, understand what that third number, high speed turn looks like, and see which discs they can make do that. Hint - bigger negative number and lower speed = easier to turn to the right
