So confused about leveling still, can we actually just max every weapon eventually and freely swap builds without worry? or are we going to have to create multiple characters to play other roles? I personally like to do everything on one character and minmax them out.
Multiple build on one character is possible, but it takes a long time if not swiping and even swiping takes a bit of time because the game limits certain materials and you still need to farm mastery. I would not say alts are needed. Just that most people will have to prioritize 1-2 builds with similar armor/accessories with how much time it takes.
Thanks for the tips, looking forward to diving into T&L. I have a question about healers, how is the leveling experience as one? I typically main healers in other games and the healing seems like it would be a good time in T&L but I'm concerned that the leveling might suck.
Depends on your other weapon but if it’s bow or staff you can just prio those weapons to do all your damage. Shouldn’t be too bad and you can heal yourself. Slow and steady but maybe easier bc of heals that other dps won’t have
@@ddfstar7588 Thanks, I'm thinking of maybe going xbow + dagger at this point it looks really cool and the xbow seems pretty unique to me. Maybe on full release I'll level as healer with a buddy or two. Appreciate the response.
@@kohtas healing is great in this game. It's rough solo at first but in group play dungeons world bosses, it's amazing. I got a video of a world boss of me wand bow. Feel free to check it out.
@@timmeh9954 you only get the mastery of a weapon when it’s in your hands. This counts when you use skills with your off hand. During the skill animation you get that weapons mastery. I usually have dagger in hand for PvP because it has 5% move speed and I take the 105 all evasion and I want it active all the time
Great video, do you plan to do more T&L content in the future? If so I'll subscribe, not a D4 player so just curious if your channel will have content that I will actually watch or not on a regular basis. Good luck!
Can you explain how weapon xp works? I’m level 23 and didn’t get any weapon xp, only got them when I completed a contract and got some blue thing called dew I think it was
@@Jafarizz they changed how mastery is gained recently. Now you only get it from contracts and instances dungeons. Don’t worry about it until you’re level 50 and you’re doing the contracts. You will be level 5+ fast
Thanks for the tips! Do you know which role is the least played and highest in demand? Is it tank and healer like in most mmos? I usually tend to play these roles so i can find groups faster :D
Nice video, just what i was looking for. I'm new to throne and liberty and I really really want to play a warrior/mage kind of character, but I feel like nobody ever talks about GS/Wand or GS/Staff, which is why I assume they are not very good combinations, however, I HATE daggers and like to dps in mmorpgs, I'd like to be as competitive as possible in pvp/pve while playing something I enjoy. AM I Fucked? Is there a weapon combination you would suggest to someone in my situation? I plan on testing GS/Wand and GS/Staff in the open beta perhaps another idea i might get (SNS/WAND DPS????¿), but I'd love to read the opinion of someone that has actually played the game at endgame
You can try gs/wand and gs/staff. Not many people have tried those and I don’t think they’re very good. If you have a group of friends your playing with you can do whatever, but if you need to pug dungeons and get into a guild your probably going to want a more meta build. What do you dislike about daggers? If you have a staff you generally play at a range with some options to hit with dagger in melee, but you aren’t going into melee range intentionally with staff. I would either try dagger or bow with staff if you want a meta build. Things may change next week with skill expressions/tripods coming on or servers.
@@ireviktv I dislike invisibility and poisons. I like playing mainly melee which is why I didn't think about bow/staff. I played a little with dagger/staff, dagger/wand, gs/staff and gs/wand, SnS seems to be exclusively tanking equipment so I didn't try it. I just can't get over my dislike for daggers and I can see some of the problems of gs/staff-wand, so I'm a little disappointed because I enjoyed the game. However, I'm hopeful of the new changes coming to the game and the possibility of these changes making gs/staff-wand a decent combination, will you be covering those changes in the future?
so we are suppose to go full+9 blue with full traits but when o i switch to purple items? only when i have the items needed to give them full traits also or?
You can play anything but you may find it hard to get into dungeon groups or guilds. Gs/Xbow is the only of those two that I know CAN work, but it feels more like a pve choice
You will have a major stockpile on day 1. The meta strategy is to get to 49 before the first reset and get your contracts below 59. The daily 10 you get can go above the 60 cap if your 59 or less, but if you 60 or more they just go away. Hard to explain in text, but TLDR, save that initial stockpile if you can hit 49 in 1-3 days
@@ireviktv Thanks for explaining, I don't think I'll go hard on leveling in beta, I'll just explore the game and will try to try everything I can XD Thanks again and have fun mate :)
The enhance system its like the ine in Lost Ark? Item doesn't brake but msterials are lost, and then you have ti work your ass for days to get enough msterials?
Depends on your playstyle preference. Melee vs Range assuming your only considering dps as wand and sns are top tier. The dps builds i listed in the video are all very good at both pvp and pve. Melee - Xbow/dag is best pve dmg in game, but needs the archboss xbow for pvp (then its S tier pvp aswel) GS/Dag is your only true melee dps which is what i prefer to play and it does decent pve dmg. Range - you can play bow/dag, staff/dag, or bow/staff on launch and pick up the 3rd a month or 2 in for an incredibly versatile ranged dps toolkit with 3 separate builds.
The events are every 3 hours and are a huge part of your progression for the first 1-3 months. (slowly tapers off as marind prices drop). I do think they need to make pvp events just pvp (like open world battleground) and make pve events more interesting (which i believe the devs stated changes were coming to them)
hey thanks for the video. Say I have a +7 or +9 weapon. When I get a new better weapon drop, do I have to start over +2, +5, +9 etc? Does that mean that I shouldn't bother upgrading my weapon until endgame, until I get a decent one?
Same quality (green/blue/purple) items transfer 100% of the xp to the new weapon. No loss. You would only have to worry about traits as those do not transfer. Transferring up a tier(green to blue and blue to green) you will be a lower level because the higher tier items require more xp per level. 100% of the xp is still transferred from previous weapon though
@@ireviktv but wouldnt you wanna keep your weapon than? if you destroy your blue item and get a purple without traits youre kinda screwed? if blue does more with traits?
@@Paolini_18 yeah, PvP is the main endgame here. Large scale guild vs guild with some small scale content and instances battlegrounds coming dec. / Jan.
They stack to 60. Day one you will have over that cap and will lose out if you don’t get some done. It’s not that big of a deal, just min/max to hit 50 fast and get them under 59 day one.
@@matteocaridi3573 I don’t have experience with controller on tnl, but I think it may be hard to target people to heal. May have to try yourself on the beta
how problematic and time-consuming is try to have 2 builds to swap (only changing the second weapon, like: SnS/GreatSword and SnS/Wand) depending on the circumstances?
@@CanalLetsPlayVideos that swap would be doable after a few weeks or a month on launch. The gear on that would probably be similar but if you change from tank to glass cannon dps you would struggle to do both
It will 200% be pay to win but I'll play it until I stop having fun, nice guide though. Also for pvp areas are there certain zones that are pvp or is it some kind of forced pvp thing, if it is I think I'm out
PvP is time event based. Can be 100% avoided, but you may need to give certain zones 30 mins for the event to end. Only a few event areas at a time are PvP and open world dungeons are PvP at night only.
SnS builds generally can either do harder dungeons to farm or do large pulls in unpopulated areas. Also, most of your lucent will come from event marinds and selling traits from gear aquired in group instanced dungeons.
The armor and accessories I chose for gs/dag should work for that build 1-50 as well. It’s high melee evasion and it really helps tank damage. Link in description
Sns or wand will be slower but you can level with them. Leveling with both at the same time would be really slow though. Many sns or wand users will use a different weapon combo and just not invest into the substitute weapon
Synergy just isn’t there and each build tries to fulfill a roll. If you can find a key roll that an off meta build can fulfill and you know what your doing go for it. Also could end up getting gate kept in pug dungeon groups if you run an odd build
Check back or swing by my stream later. 7/19 the devs are going to preview the new skill expressions update and 7/24 it goes live on kr. All weapons will get more flair to them. It’s like tripods from lost ark
@@zae_llama9111 there are dps builds without dagger. They’re just aren’t top tier meta. Can play a ranged build without dagger, but dagger has so much utility in PvP. Stealth in PvP is the best disengage
SnS/Wand in my opinion fills a more important role. If you want to do damage with sns as a bruiser go sns/gs. SnS/Dag is just outclassed by those two (gs and wand variants)
Not comparable, different roles. Range dps vs aoe sleep engage/healer. Dagger/wand is niche and not many needed for guilds. Also not good pve so you need a 3rd weapon to heal pve other than dagger
@@mistertrap9267 wand is mainly a healer. As with a lot of other mmos tho, the healer is expected to do damage in pve. For PvP your probably still wanting to fit in some damage but your more focused on keeping your team alive and having good positioning. Wand/bow or wand/staff would be your go to. Wand/sns in PvP is a bit more sturdy though
@@fernamagno 1-50 is kinda chill fun. Do quests and see the whole map. I don’t like quests normally but the experience of exploring this map is great. Character progression and feel keeps evolving and improving much after 50. As a new mmo it’s a good experience and will be lots of fun on launch
@@Joethedevilmonkey 1. Are you PvP focused or no PvP at all? 2. How many hours a day will you play? 3. Will you be joining a top guild or at least trying to?
They reduced the damage months ago, but it’s still a tier. Only weapon with heals in the game and it can still 1 combo multiple people if not interrupted
@@GoatInACoatt normally 12-20 hours from really efficient to having some idea and mmo experience, but the beta will have a special fast leveling experience to help people get to 50 within the 5 days
Ony thing i hate on these "recommendations" videos is the "fly to max level". MMOs weren't made for this before, you should have a lot of things to do on low levels also, just explore the game, see what it has to offer. Once you get to max level, you get something else, something new. That's why A LOT of people are getting to max level and starts failing on everything the game has to offer to you, cause you just rushed everything in and you don't have any idea about your class/spells/abilities/professions etc. Then, you rage at them for dying or failing on things ...
@@Pheribe the main point of the video is to decide on your weapons in this beta for launch. You can’t make a good decision without having all of the skills unlocked. So I explained how you would get to 50 quickly. You do not need to rush, no one is forcing you. There are things you can do before 50 if thats how you would like to play
