It semms that the Cursed Crone went to 22 int instead of 16 right after posting this video. So i suggest going for 22 int first and then put your points in focus.
I like the way you put visuals for the gathering, then for the stats and everything you talk about really. Right now I am at 23lvl and doing another build but looking back when I had no clue about the game, this would've been a nice guide, without overwhelming me with too much info.
That's what I tried to do. I felt like if I gave al the info around how to gather the gear and how everything worked (where there are a lot of guids over already) so I tried to keep it simple and mage orientated
Love the demon's souls music! Guess I will make a new realm and character and try out making a caster. Thank you for the video, my first character is just a plain vanilla strength guy.
Nice guide for beginners ! I also have some "more" important things i have in mind that you could suggest too :) I recommand to prioritize 2 gems that are the yellow ones : the 1st on your staff to grant "Focus on damage dealt" and the 2nd on your legs to grant "Focus on focus use". Those are the 2 best things you can have in Focus builds. Then you can cumulate "Focus regen efficacity%" and "Max Focus" on your gear and rings, and gg you have an infinite focus build :D Btw element damage don't stack. You can see in your video that the staff you put "Attack deal 14% Plague damage" doesn't deal any since you use a Thunder skill. Maybe it could give more thunder damage to your skill if it was a "Attack deal % Thunder damage" but i don't think so since it says "Attacks" and not skills. So it only works with your base attacks (but could be tested easily). So the best gem to put if you want more damages on your skills are simply the "Base damage%" because every rune attack in the game scale with the power of the weapon using it :) So a "perfect" staff would be white and equip those 2 gems : "Focus on damage dealt" and "Base Damage%". If they stack, 2 of each would be the best. But if you get a purple staff or the legendary one which can only equip 1 gem : go for "Focus on damage dealt" ! :)
Yes the gems is certenly a good idea, i was thinking of incleuding that in to an advanced mage guide. About the staff, i suggested using an elemental infusement for the melee attacks since when you are playing trough the game you don't have way to have you focus up all the timeand so you bennefit from having more dmg on you base attacks. And I am aware you want to stack max focus and focus regen to have infinite focus. I coverd this in my "Mage Bonk Build" but i don't think adding this information for a beginner guide makes too much sense since they will have to play a few hours before they will ever get in contact with these drops.
@@duckielove2286 I am used to the souls games parry's and i feel like in this game the parry window is a bit smaller and thus have to parry later than i am used to.
I would try to craft the Spherical staff asap, which is a frost staff, as it can be used to freeze most enemies with it's standard spell at full charge for easy kills, and it's frost nova can hit through walls and in 360 aoe
I pretty much only use a staff since I one shot every non bos enemy and have infinite focus while doing it. I have to try out some weapons too see if they have to same potential.
@PhantomBuild i understand but if you enhance the staff. you get % buffs such as healing. focus. restore mana fast... but since it's 1st staff. that's ok
to be honest ,its not a mage guide , its a guide to equip a wepon and use focus , like all classes .... next time you should mention to socket a gem which grants focus , enchant gear with focus while dmg , or while do kills , so you can perma shot without melee ...especially the plague gem is pure waste and not needed in anyway
It's literally a guide for beginners. You are not gonna have a gem to gain more focus at the start and if you do it's a waste to use it on shit gear. The elemental gem is to do more dmg on your melee hits while you gain focus for your spell attacks..
