Beginner's Guide Pt. 2 | Insurgency: Sandstorm 

Thanks for the tips. Insurgency Sandstorm is really a great FPS. Way underrated. Great combination of tactical, realism, and intensity. Guns are very realistic in look and performance. One tip I've learned is to crouch and Aim Down Sight (ADS) to walk stealthily. I'm Level 60 and still getting my ass handed to me, but getting better.

I normally don't comment on many youtube videos, but today I had to, because It's great to have a new youtuber in the Insurgency Sandstorm Community. And such a great one. Love how you explain things, calm but passionate about it. Anyway, I just got the game with the 50% discount on Steam and want to learn more about how to play it but there isn't enough information in youtube. Mostly gameplays but we need more tutorials like this, and also I would love some about tactical decision making in the different gamemodes, like push and firefight. Finding this game has been a blessing. I'm 37 and over the last two years I started playings fps games for the first time, but never found the right one for me. COD too fast and arcade, R6 too steep learning curve, PUBG spending a long time looting just to lose pretty much every first fight... But this game has the best of all worlds, at least for me. And the gunplay is amazing, so hopefully the communitty will continue to grow up and also your youtube channel. Best regards from Spain!

Good video! I have a i7 4970k and a 2060S I have been playing on my 4k tv and set the res to 1440. Your settings basically keeps the game at 60fps. With that being said I normally play co op with 35 bots and 10players. That's a achievement on my rig at 1440 thanks alot!!

Also, about the doors, if you can see the hinges (the 2 metal things on the opposite side of the handle), it opens towards you. Slightly opening doors works well in combination with flashbangs if you want to make an entry. One thing I would add to this guide is positioning in team scenarios : in many cases, I see new players rushing first into corridors and strafing, effectively blocking their team's ability to see and shoot because they are in the way. I think it's important to be mindful of team mates behind you by sticking to the walls and crouching so that your team can shoot over your head. I also think it's important to cover a maximum amount of angles instead of stacking on the same angle like some new players do.

For the door hinges if you see them it opens towards you

On the note of shooting the hinges off of doors I actually like to use that a lot when attacking, as you can slice the pie of the room from very far away (which is better because it reduces the distance between your shoulder/farthest out point of your characters body and your actual line of sight, although the difference is only really helpful for left peaks) or you can more easily send a grenade/rpg actually inside the room. It is best used for slower, more methodical play like in push. You can also shoot the hinges off from the side they aren't on if you learn where they are on the door, which is good since a lot of the doors have hinges on the inside. Also I think you skipped over on of the most important things just because you do it so automatically, which is slicing the pie. A lot of new players don't really know about it/understand the concept so it is a very good thing to teach people.

For the slide, if you sometimes feel it's nerfed or less than usual, check your loadout I garantee you it's HEAVY LIGHTER loadout is going to slide farther AND faster even on normal ground, try it. 110%+ weight loadout can barely slide, it looks more like a sack of brick falling from a wheel barrow...

if you leave the door cracked and wait for someone to open it you can kick the door down on them and get a kill. Also the "apex slide" can give you a ridiculous speed boost on some areas.

Great video, I do have a quick suggestion. If you have the time, adding timestamps on longer videos like this would be very nice. For example, many people already know about crouch jumping in other games, so it'd be nice to see where to skip to get to the next section. Again, nice video though.

Yes, the slide was nerfed, didn't know it was called like that, i used that a lot on refinery

I find the game really easy to run, I don't know why people would be having problems with it. Some basic stuff like making sure you're bios, chipset drivers, video drivers, are all up-to-date, windows Cortana and Bing start menu search has been disabled in the registry help free up the CPU a lot, and don't run competitive games at 4k. I have a Ryzen 2600X CPU and RX 590 GPU, but I think it'd be fine on my old 1070 as well.

Nice settings actually! Used these now as a starting point and ended up with 130-230fps depending on map & location w/ 2060s + 3700x

Quick tip: You can bind spacebar key for jump only and another key (X key for me) for vaulting only. This allows you to crouch jump at the edge instead of doing a running start.

another great tip,dont overmod your guns,i see some new free weekend players pretending they're special forces with full on mods,neglecting grenades,using Heavy Carriers/Armor,dont,just dont use them,Light Carriers/Armor does better as you're not gonna use the whole 7Mags in,they're heavy af and you still die in 1/2 hits with Heavy/Light Armor,BRING SMOKES OR GRENADES urrggh

One problem I have with leaning is it doesn't always shoot when I'm leaning. Am i doing something wrong or holding too tight of an angle? because I'm ads perfectly fine but it still wont shoot.

Nice guide but why’d you use a higher resolution than your monitor supports?, if you have a 1080p monitor using 1440p doesn’t really do anything but hurt the performance.
