As a long-time Todoista, I enjoy the way the app adapts to so many productivity frameworks. I use a variation of the OKR by making the Objective the main task and the Key Results, the sub-tasks. This allows me to easily schedule and re-schedule as needed. This format also provides the 30,000 foot view during weekly planning. Bravo - great job Naomi. (I love the outtakes at the end 😁)

OKRs are really useful as long as there's some flexibility in the planning and the communication has to be there. They work really well in conjunction with todoist as visually is so easy to see the steps to achieve the goal!

I read OKRs method on Todoist's blog three years ago. It's glad to see your video about this.

Hey, great timing. Been working with Todoist (and its awesome Streak integration) to set up some great daily habits and systems. But this helps me realize I need to have them connected more clearly to intermediate key results and longer-range goals again. On it! Thanks for your great videos. They’re consistently a nice combination of being substantial without being overwhelming. And always with some humor. You’re nailing it! :)

Interesting framework. What I love about todoist is I could implement this framework along with my boards or list view. Thanks for the video, keep them coming

I never really considered personal OKRs before watching this video. I think I might try this for my Goodreads challenge this year, and set the key results around minimizing distractions, creating dedicated time to read and listen to books, and planning what to read next.

I've been doing something simiilar to OKRs before I started hearing about them. I used to define different levels of goals depending on the moment: long-term goals in my yearly review, and more specific tasks associated to those goals in the monthly/weekly planning. In my experience it works really great, on one hand you have the actionability of well-defined tasks with the Key Results (and all the SMART tasks and similar strategies), but on the other you can still thing big about where you want to end up with Objectives.

3:17 - Less is More (3-5 OKR per objective) 3:28 - Set goals from the bottom up (set them yourself to achieve it / 50% by team members) 3:49 - No dictating (all collaborators should agree and buy-in) 4:06 - Stay flexible (OKRs are meant to be agile) 4:32 - Set stretched goals (you shouldn't really achieve 100% of OKRs) 5:02 - No incentivizing with money 5:32 - Be patient (getting OKRs righr is really difficult and needs iterations / reassess it continuously)

Thank you for sharing. I use a version of OKRs with educators that I work with who are working on implementing new instructional practices.

Hey! I've been stuck in a cycle of lack of focus and discipline for some time and today I sat in front of the computer decided to organize myself, which usually starts with: looking at my todoist and the hundreds of things I included without organizing, much less doing. After taking the organization method test (which led to the Pomodoro technique), I loved learning about OKRs and definitely want to try them. I've already used it at work, but I've been struggling with some neurological consequences acquired during the p@ndemic, and since then, my personal life has simply gone off track. I want and I will be able to organize myself. Thank you for the tips and for offering to teach us. Kisses, Lily. (English from Translator, sorry 😅).

I’m a paid Todoist user and I love the platform but I’m also a little surprised to see OKR’s here. I use OKR’s professionally but outside of Todoist. I think it’s interesting to see OKR’s structured in a Todoist native way. Cool!

I personally intend to use GTD with Todoist. And I think OKRs can also provide many useful tips reinforcing GTD.

I'm just starting in a company that uses OKRs and this will be my first practical work with the system. However, I've tried year ago to set personal OKRs but I felt overwhelmed by the O's and not motivated enough to follow-up on the KRs. Maybe I will try it again to see if this time it will be better.

My org has implemented this over the last few years and while it has been successful in tracking progress - it still feels like a process for the sake of it. Suggestions on how to have these empower the teams performing the work?
