The way this guide was made and put together was just beautiful. Every detail is slowly and coherently explained while not being too overwhelming. Great job 👍
@Michael Also good to know! I remember spending probably way too much time on that tiny scene inside the classroom event, with the animated "recap" on the blackboard lmao xD Not sure if you noticed it
I love how it went from a serious guide to illuminate joke and right back to serious guide that killed me. Super helpful I'm planning on trying gauntlet for the first time soon and I'm using this as a reference.
Hahaha I'm glad that got you, I was definitely going for the return to the normal video like nothing happened :p Good luck on the Gauntlet! You got this :D
@@PiikachUwU_OSRS Nope. Apparently RU-vid changed their policy somewhat recently, stating that they can monetize anyone's video, even if they are not in the YPP. And the creator has no rights to compensation. I understand their reason and rights for doing it, but it's still annoying having an ad on my video without receiving any benefits from it. But I guess on the bright side, it's only a single pre-roll ad.
I am extremely happy and proud to finally release this video, my best work yet. I hope you guys enjoy it! There is a comment contest for this guide, and there is also a hidden contest somewhere inside the video, the prizes for which will both be Oldschool Bonds :) The comment contest is: Which segment/feature of this video took me the longest to create, and how many days did it take? Good luck everyone! :)
Was it the segment where you showed the boss fight advanced info? I’m guessing finding the patterns must’ve taken a while so maybe 7 days to combine the info and data together?
@@klynton2791 Unfortunately, no that wasn't the most time consuming part. I did the researching for the boss fight tile patterns in 1-2 days, and creating and editing the visuals for them took another 2-3. There is a segment that took longer, though the one you're mentioning was probably 2nd!
@@DeVoid1 hey thanks for the quick reply! Super great guide 😋, youtuber’s like yourself are the reason to why I’m able to learn so much about this game! How long did it take to make the whole guide?
@@klynton2791 My pleasure, I like reading and responding to comments :) The whole guide, from researching, scripting, voice recording, clip gathering, and editing, took me probably around 500-600 hours to make.
I am researching to get into gauntlet/CG on my UIM and 2 years later this is still the absolute best guide out there! Thank you for all the effort and information you packed into this! You're an absolute champion!
Thank you very much! :D Comments like this make me happy and reassure me that all the hard work was worth it. Best of luck in your Gauntlet career, I'm sure you'll love it :)
Best Gauntlet video I have watched so far. The most useful pieces of information I got from this video are no where to be found in other videos like the Boss Tile Heatmap, Inner Ring resources and 3rd party plugins. Thanks a lot for all the work you put into this, I will probably watch this a few more times while trying to improve.
Thanks so much for the feedback! I included every bit of information that already existed, and new info I discovered from my research. I'm really glad it helped you! :) Good luck out there, you'll be a master of the Gauntlet (and then Corrupted Gauntlet) in no time!
Really excellent work here. You've got a really relaxing narration style and voice, a lot of effort was clearly put into this guide, and its very thorough. Liked the little jokes as well. I really prefer short RS guides so was hesitant to click, but I've watched it all the way through. The tile research really puts this guide in its own tier. Feels like watching a good documentary rather than a dry RS guide. Great job!
Hey man any plans on continuing with youtube? I see your last vid was posted a year ago, but this guide is so in depth i would 1000% come back to watch guides from you exclusively.
Usually when I see guides over 10 minutes I skip them and find something shorter but something about the way you segmented the video convinced me to give it a shot. So glad I did because it was a great guide. Got my first 3kc tonight and look forward to doing more. Thanks!
I feel you on that haha, I do that sometimes. And that's why I organized and segmented the video the way I did :) Thanks for the kind words! Congrats on your first 3 kc :D And thanks for watching.
Came back to this video to say thanks. Your tile suggestion and analysis that you did to find the 4 and 2 tiles for each phase was super helpful and something that made gauntlet runs so much better. Im only lvl 80s in combat stats and was struggling before watching this. You have the best guide for gauntlet on youtube easily.
Awesome!! I'm really glad all that research came in handy for at least one person haha. Those safespots really do help quite a bit. Thank you for the compliment :) I'm really hoping this video starts getting a lot more attention soon. Sadly it's still only rank 5 when searching 'osrs gauntlet guide', and doesn't even show up on Google results til page 3 :(
Unfortunately, the corrupted paddlefish was added about 6 months after I uploaded this video. But it's not too big a deal because IMO those things aren't worth making. It's pretty rare that you need to heal 36 HP at once due to being able to tick eat the Hunllef's attack. Thank you for watching and the nice comment :)
Wow very in depth and well done guide! Met you outside the Gauntlet right before you released this video haha. You inspired me to try the Gauntlet. Subbed and keep it up! Rsn: TheOldShark
Thanks! Growth has been a lot slower than I expected. I'm hoping to be at 1k+ subs by the time I finish 2 videos on my main channel. Then I'll be able to make some money from all the hard work on this channel :D
Amazing vid man! Super in depth and laid love the indepth explanation from the small things to the big things need more guides like this! Deffinetly got a like and sub from me keep em coming!
Thanks so much bro! I did my absolute best for this guide haha, spent so much freakin time! Comments like this reassure me that all that effort wasn't wasted :) If this video gets appropriate attention, I'll definitely make more super high quality guides in the future :D
this is an absolutely unbelievably good guide. I've never done this shit before but I feel so prepared and the heatmaps of the tile patterns... omfg. Absolutely incredible work
Wow this guide was awesome, it gives me the confidence to try it out. I subbed! Oh and btw, 7:45 WHY is Gamora?!? ;)
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the compliment, and the sub :D And wow, honestly I didn't think someone would find that bond so quickly LOLOL! What's your osrs username? *Edit: compliment not complement
No problem I appreciate the work you put into the boss room tile diagrams. My rsn is FatDickens1(lmao kinda embarrassed about my username I didn’t realize I would stick with it for so long)
@@tigerscar56 I'm glad you appreciate it haha, because that research and pattern mapping (plus getting those pesky diagrams to display correctly while scaled down) was a lot of work. Lmao aight xD I'll add you to give you a bond next time I see you online. Be sure to keep your private on :)
Sweet guide. I went from not finishing preparing in time the first 4 runs to actually getting everything ready to dying to the first tornado to getting hunlef down to 250 hp in a few tries. After trying something like this it even more impressive to watch skilled pvm ers switching gear and prayers in split second reaction. Im basically overloading my brain and forgetting to switch prayer and weapons all the time
S tier guide. Combat lvl 122 and I'm about to run the Gauntlet for the first time. This was an incredibly detailed and entertaining guide. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you bro. And Happy 'Scapin
You just got a subscriber, your level of detail is unbelievable. Thank you very much for this guide, I will be checking out all of your other guides giving them all a like!
Best guide I’ve ever seen. Super informant, no annoying 15 minutes of self promotion, amazing work. Straight to the point, advanced info, and a example run. Literal perfection.
Thanks so much! I would love to. I've been working on a video for my main channel lately, but after that I'll probably resume working on another guide.
I love how I spent my lunch watching this excited to do this when I got home from work, realized this was timed and I stood no chance. Fuck the gauntlet
Nuuuu you can do it! You just gotta get used to wasting no time between actions, and follow the beginner strategy closely. Honestly though, you should be able to complete the Gauntlet just fine. The time isn't the hard part - it's the final boss that takes some practice.
Got my first kill due to this! That boss is a nightmare and a half but between true tiles plugin and scurrius i've gotten a lot better enough to finally try this.
Hey thanks so much! I'm glad you noticed the hard work that went into that part :D I really appreciate the sub, I'm trying desperately to get 1k subs so I can be monetized.
Woo! That was what I was going for :D Thanks for the sub! Unfortunately though, I don't play OSRS anymore and so I can't make any more content for it. I do plan on making videos of other games in the future though - not sure how you'd feel about that.
Hands down, the best guide for this. All the others don't put forth the effort into explaining what all you have to do and why you have to do it. This guide has gotten me my first 3 kc of the gauntlet and I thank you.
Much love! I put my maximum effort into anything I make for people, and I'm glad you noticed it :) Congrats on your completions! May the drops flow forth :D
Thanks a ton :D I strived to make it the best OSRS gauntlet guide on RU-vid, so I'm super glad you think it is! Good luck out there :) I've been camping the Corrupted Gauntlet on my alt lately, named DatBotsASpy, on w313. Maybe I'll see you there!
12:43 for anyone curious, the reason this works the way it does is because in OSRS everything happens within tics, nothing can happen faster than 1 tic which is 0.6 seconds, while walking in OSRS you move 1 tile per tic, but sense you move 2 tiles per tic while running you never actually touch that middle tile, the game cant put you there sense there is no tic to register the action, instead you skip it and go straight to the 2nd tile when the next tic happens, you basically teleport 2 tiles away and never actually touch the tornado, even though your character model runs straight through it you were never actually where your model was, this is best illustrated when using the "Highlight true tile" option within the "Tile Indicators" pluggin in Runelite.
I'm hoping this helps me alot. Just got SOTE done yesterday. Been trying so hard to do gauntlet. Can't get him passed 360hp bit I get messed up with prayers.
Ah so it's pretty much a revised and concentrated version of what Dungeoneering was. That's pretty cool, though it'll be a long time before I can even think of doing song of the elves
Exactly. A very concentrated version. And you can't get rare drops inside the Gauntlet that you can use in future runs. That would be kinda cool tbh, but overpowered
first time ever commenting on a youtube video, and im old lol. Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video i look forward to raging for 2 days while i figure gauntlet out thanks to you, cheers.
guide was great up until you got into the actual rooms themselves. no strat on which direction you should go or what weapons you suggest using. no detail on what "boss" drops what. the rest of the guide was solid. just overwhelming going through the rooms with underwhelming supporting information
What? There's an entire section about the minibosses, and their drops are discussed from about 6:00 to 6:45. The "Beginner strategy" section contains everything else you mentioned - which direction to go is mentioned starting at 23:00, and the weapons you should pick are stated starting at 24:10.
More complicated than Zulrah definitely, not sure about CoX since I don't have much experience with it and haven't tried it on mobile. The Gauntlet can be done on mobile though, even the corrupted version! I've done it a couple times on my zerk main, but it's pretty tough and not usually worth the high chance of failure.
the amount of time and quality you put into this guide is absolutely insane. great job. so much info that i dont think i needed but just because of the quality of content i couldnt look away or avoid soaking it up.
Thank you! It's probably because I don't have much content up and don't upload consistently. Also, only a tiny fraction of people subscribe from instructional/informational content, as opposed to entertaining stuff like Framed/Torvesta vids.
I have never seen a better in depth guide. This explains much more than other guides. Ive watched some other guides of the gauntlet and couldnt get past the boss. Im going to try this tomorrow and Im sure because of this Im gonna succeed. Thanks alot! What a good guide!!
Nooo dude. We all started out dying in like 10 seconds lmao I kid you not. Keep trying! Or quit the game like I did I guess xD But don't quit due to giving up. That's the worst reason to stop playing.
1st weapon dropped a spike. I had 40s on the clock before I found the orb for staff. How to deal with this? I ran around the other edges for the bosses.
That's what I do - just keep running to find other minibosses. Although, if you have piety the perfected halberd is actually pretty good. Doesn't hurt to use it once you get the boss down pretty well.
do all tornadoes last 10sec? having a plugin that shows a timer above the tornado would be so nice so you can know when to stop running to focus on dps
You almost never have enough crystal shards for full tier 2 armor after gathering the materials and killing a few tier 1 monsters. Often times, you don't even have enough shards for full T1. It's really about just making the vials and attuned weapon, and crafting armor pieces if you have enough spare shards.
Everything in this guide applies to the corrupted gauntlet too - just the monsters and boss in Corrupted are stronger. The strategy remains the same though :) But you probably can't go without armor in Corrupted.
Hahaha, Hunter I actually like due to the fast xp, and Agility I mainly just powered through while watching videos and stuff. Or playing another account. You gotta have something else to do to make boring skills more tolerable
I'm glad! I often have a hard time digesting information in guide videos. So I aim to give instruction in a way that makes it much more straightforward and easy to digest.
I initially avoided watching this in preference for a shorter video, but found myself still confused about what to do. For the Gauntlet, this video was perfect and worth every minute! Thank you for putting in so much effort!
I usually avoid long guides because they overcomplicate every and add unncessary details about everything. But this guide was great, everything was neat and concise and you explained everything thoroughly and without dragging on. Appreciate it bro.
I read the comments and had to fully watch this and honestly impressive is a serious understatement, best guide I’ve seen on any subject so in depth in detail but you didn’t waste time either. Made the process hilarious and gained another sub! Thank you sir!🎉
What an amazing, and incredibly detailed video. This is by far the best guantlet guide I've seen on yt. Thanks for the effort and info, getting first clear tonight!
