I’m new to the Laser world. My settings were all at zero. This has helped me to be able to start with a pulse test and learn more about the controller. Thank you so much.
Cool! Finding the right speed and power settings this way is much quicker than going back and forth to my PC every time. Thanks for the informative video!
Golly, just getting back to this tutorial. My brother restored a burned up Laser for me and my sister and it is the garage, ready to go. We intend to run projects from the controller. I took notes while watching your tutorial and will type them up tonight. I am the older sister and my other sister my sidekick. We work together. I need to get a galvanized pail for emergency. So far we have managed not to burn up any lasers.
I highly recommend a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher. Not cheap but if you did have a fire it would, save you laser water in a laser is not good at all.
Trying to center the laser on my projects has been my biggest challenge so far. Thank you SO much for explaining how to adjust the speed so the laser head can be moved in tiny increments. This has saved so much time and has stopped the waste I experienced. I am forever grateful!
Hi Robert, depending on your needs you can also adjust the layer settings faster. load the file you need, and press enter. The layer speed/power is available to adjust. It saves you from having to start/pause the file and then scroll through the menu to get to the settings.
I will have to try that again. Last time I attempted to do that it wouldn’t work. Thank you for your tip. I’m sure I missed part of the sequence or something like that.
Thanks, Robert. Your efforts to help others is admirable! I look forward to each of your posts. BTW, I haven't seen you on the Thursday Thunder Tech meeting lately. I guess you must be busy these days. Best wishes...........
This has helped me a lot thanks for the information you put out I’m just learning this machine and I draw a lot of my information from your videos so thank you and I hope you continue to do them I have the nova 35/100 and love it
Thanks for your reply yesterday I did the default settings but it didn’t help I even went as far to uninstall light burn and reinstalled it that didn’t work. The good thing is I have a extra laptop and it works good on it. If you have any more ideas let know. Thank You
I enjoy your videos you give a lot of good information about lasers and light burn. I’m new at this I somehow deleted the color pallet and I can’t get it back. Do you have any advice? Thanks
Hello Robert! Those layer settings, the one where you paused the machine to change to 350 speed and then to 325 speed, do you have a video about how to change the layer settings in lightburn? Every time I run it the settings go to 4mm/s and I pause the job right away-change the speed-then start again but it still burns the crap out of my slate for a second or 2 before the desired speed kicks in...
I do see a slight lag sometimes when doing this, the only way to change in lightburn is to open layer and change the speed or power setting and re send the job to the contoller. if you change the setting in lightburn it doesn’t take effect until the project is resent back to the laser.thank for watching
Hello, when i connect steering panel to the mainboard and connect 24VDC without Motors or enything else can i check the menu and other functions on the display? I bought panel and mainboard and when i connect to 24VDC only reset switch is working, i cant enter to the menu. Is this correct? Cheers.
My son ( computer knowledge ) and I have been trouble shooting most of the day.1. With no USB or Ethernet cables attaches Laser head travels normal and laser will pulse correctly.2.With Ethernet Cable attached Laser Head travels correctly and pulses but can not connect to either RD Works or Lightburn.3. Ethernet Cable disconnected and USB plugged in laser head more or less grinds in travel and laser will not fire.4. Substituted the USB cable and same results as above, subed the ethernet cable and same results above on 2 computers.5, Do you think could be bad RDC 6442S-s controller? Any ideas what is wrong or what next to try?
Blue and White Ruida DSP 1060 100W Chinese with RDC6442S-B Controller from ChinaCNCZone on EBAY. I have emailed them and got RDWorks to download. Other then that no reply for days on what I wrote here as to wha it is doing. I just ordered and recieved a new power supply as the cheapest way to start. I am womdering if is something wrong with controller. LED #13 Error in Controller Hardeware is NOT lite or blinking. LED #15 +5v power supply is lite solid. LEDS #11 and 12 Ethernet connection is solid lite Comminication is blinking. Any idea what many be the problem. @@computercreationz
Replaced controller power supply, while doing so found a loose connection ( +V ). Repaired, but still no communication between laser and computer either USB or Ethernet as described above. Do have working between UDisk and laser, all seems find. Do you think is bad controller or any ideas?
Hi just bought my laser and trying to grab info from quality sites. Do you know how to set the laser finishing position. Lightburn says it has to be done on the controller but it's not obvious. Thanks for your time.
using user origin will start and finish your laser in the same position. you have to set the origin on the control panel by pushing the origin button. I have a video that describes each start from function.
@@computercreationz Thanks for replying so quickly but after reading the lightburn manual and watching their videos it appeared to suggest that you could select a separate finishing position other than the standard user set origin.
Thanks for your question, do you have any specifics on what you would like to see? I may have already covered it and can steer to one of my there videos.
@@computercreationz After some time of getting experience with a diode laser and LightBurn, I am considering getting a CO2 laser now. However, compared to diode laser, CO2 machines have different controllers and from what I understand, they are not controlled directly by LightBurn. I was interested in seeing how the software (LightBurn) works with Ruida-controlled lasers (you have covered much of that here, without showing the PC screen). Also, there are other controllers, e.g., Trocen (AWC708S). Would these perform similar to Ruida, or is Ruida the way to go for those wanting to work with LightBurn? Thanks!
do you have something on the bed when it’s down. usually mine will fire reguardless do where the z bed is. it’s you just can see it because the laser beam is so far out of focus.
are you generating a cut file from lightburn and saving to a jump drive the. using that jump drive you load your controller. just wanted to make sure your not trying to load a design without lightburn generating the code the laser needs to run. thank
