I just started my watercolor journey and its been so hard scouring through the internet for videos that can really teach me how to paint with this medium. I am struggling with water/pigment ratios and this video is the first of probably about 80 videos I have gone through that is truly clear and informative. I really appreciate how you capture on video how you pick up water, pick up pigment and mix everything on your palette. Everybody else’s videos shows just the palette and paper but its really everything behind the scenes that matter so much more. Thank you thank you so much. I’ll be trying out your other watercolor tutorials as well. I’m so glad I found your channel. Please don’t stop making videos like these and maybe in the future you could do videos on how to prevent blooms and hard edges from happening. More power to you!

I just read your comment and can't thank you enough for sharing that with me! Your words are so encouraging and exciting for me to continue making tutorials and teaching! Knowing someone is learning and being able to create their own art makes me so happy! I will definitely do a video about blooms and hard edges. I'm always wanting to know people want to learn and love suggestions!

This was so helpful, I am going to try it tonight! I am just beginning to dabble in the art of painting and water color....this is so well explained. I hope I can do it!

Great tutorial on color theory!! I wish more watercolor artists could watch this! You explain so much and demonstrate it….watching this reiterates what I have learned taking your Watercolor 101! I’m going back thru your posts on RU-vid, and I can’t believe how much I’m learning. I know you can put only so much in your courses, but I think it would be great if all your students were to check out your RU-vid. Thank you for being such an awesome teacher, and for explaining everything so clearly😊
