Thx for the video! Such a good and clear explanation! I have one question...How do i get a color dark? Do I mix it with black or I just get less water and more paint (it will be more saturated, but not necessarily dark, right?)
Thank you, very good question. In general you would want to add darker color to the mix. Colors like: umber, indigo, neutral tint, payne's gray, just to name a few. But in some instances (if you want to go just a few steps up in your value and don't want to change the color) you can simply saturate it.
Hi Zofoblues, tutorial is on 100% cotton 300gsm Windsor and Newton sketch book, beautiful paper but colors look a bit too dull. The final is on some "watercolor" paper (not cotton), was given to try it out. Wasn't happy with it at all. It didn't absorb paint what so ever. When I tried to soften the edges on the number 2, the paint lifted completely... I got used to it after finishing number 2... But still not a pleasant paper to work with.
