Thanks for pulling me back Kent. I started following you back in time. Have had your book from the beginning. Life sometimes gets in the way and I fell off the path. Family commitments and too many obstructions. About a week before you put this video out I had made the commitment to myself to push all the excuses out of the way and get back to the piano. This video gave me an even stronger commitment to get back on the path to better piano playing. You are the best. Thanks for being with us.

This sounds like a great exercise to get into improving the shape of phrases you improvise, something I'm struggling with a lot. I'd love to see more videos on the extended things you do in the end!

Wow, truth in advertising. What a great lesson. This is definitely bookmarked. Merci. I have been watching you since I was a Newby. I learned how to do a 2 5 1 in all the keys early on, but I didn't have the basics down, and I'm still not a beginner pianist. Someone described different levels of piano, and a beginner needs about a year of preparation to be considered a beginner. I can do some intermediate level techniques, but without the basics...I need to improve in some areas. Your exercises are excellent training tools, and I still do them. But I don't have any illusions of running before I can walk, nor walking before I can crawl.
