I'm a newbie at sewing world and I've bought this machine to start with. This is the 3rd video that I've watched as the other 2 wasn't clear and you made it so easy for me to follow. I've watched some of your vids as well and I'm such in awe with your knowledge. Thank you! x
Thank you so much and we’ll done. As soon as you get going with it - you’ll be amazed at how much you can really do too!! Have fun! And thank you for the feedback. ✨🙌🏽
I don't have a DVD player to watch instructional DVD that you get with this machine,so I am glad I found your video ,Thankyou! I am all Set to sew now on my first sewing machine.
Thank you so much! I’m familiar with sewing machines but I haven’t used it in several years so I needed something to jog my memory. Thank you! I really appreciate it 💕
Frustrating to thread the needle only to have to undo that to put thread on my bobbin. Other than that, great tutorial. Managed to fix my pants thanks to you!
It was one of my very first videos. I have made other videos since but I appreciate what you mean. Thank you also. I’m glad you managed to get your task done 👍🏽
Aw, apologies Will. You’re right, I should have thought it out a bit better, we’re all learning. I made this video for a child I was teaching at the time, I didn’t realise it would be popular.
Thank you for this. I've been sewing all my life - by hand! I've finally given in and got this machine for myself. Very happy to find a simple tutorial to get started.
Abi i have just picked up a sewing machine. I got it home no instructions bobbins or anything. Thank goodness I found you on line to help me get started. Thank you :)
I was really struggling with my bobbin. Just watched your video and realized I wasn’t threading it correctly. After following your steps, I got it and I am happy. Thanks a lot ❤❤❤❤
I’ve recently brought this machine and I’m hoping it’s an easy one to get to grips with for a complete novice. Sick of paying to have clothes altered and would love to learn how to do this myself. I have always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine as I believe it’s a handy skill to have in life. Great video. I’m sure I’ll watch it a dozen times to try and get the hang of it. Even with all the instructions on the machine it helps me to see someone do it and go through the steps.
OMG! Thank you so much. I'm a true beginner & know nothing about sewing. Bought this machine. Not one person I've watched has said anything about the vertical thread nor raising the needle to thread the hook. This corrected a problem I have had since I began trying to sew!
Thank you for this step by step guide. I often find similar videos whizz through things too fast. Yours had just the right pace for me. I have been having trouble with the bottom thread so I now think I know where I have been going wrong.
After watching a video by someone who threaded this machine up completely wrong it was great to find this vide, thank you. Only problem is the sound is so quiet it's really hard to hear
very helpful thank you alot my hubby got me one of these in july after finding your video today i have finaly manage to try and get it going thank you. *
Very detailed and thorough. I havent used my Brother machine for a couple of years now and forgot how to thread it. So your lesson was a great help thank you.
@@ewa3745 a whole 360 turn, when you start turning the the raised lined on the side of the wheel should be at the top of it and when you stop it should have gone around a whole turn and ended up in the place on the top.
A bit late to this but I’m getting my first sewing machine this week and this was a super helpful and informative video! Will definitely be using this video tutorial once I get my machine
Thank you - that was very helpful - I already have a brother machine but I've never used one with a top loading bobbin before and being left handed I had the thread going round the wrong way - have a great day
Thank you for showing us how to thread the cotton, i got this machine last Christmas and now i am able to start sewing at last now i have my sewing room all together....
Jessica homeisacottage oh brill! It’s a great machine.... hope the video inspires you... I keep saying I’ll make some more things with the machine for newbies. Xx good luck x
Why you have negative thumbs down, I dunno.. I'm new to Sewing and gonna Start Coz Play making. Your description are fantastic, maybe work on the camera angles, but, thanks, I've made my mind up on the machine, and it's the Brother LS14S , as shown, just right, and price too, and it will do for other things ASWELL. THE VIDS THAT SHOW SO MUCH, and there easy to follow, well, some of them hehee, get ya camera angles right, but I'm in. Again thnx for the videos on thus unit. At 80quid, its ideal for coz play, but everyday stuff too. Cheers, Adie,
Same. Thanks for the content but the complicated part is where to guide the threads when/just after turning the wheel by hand. I think demonstrating this step by step more slowly would be advantageous
Hello, Great video. I have a small problem, the bottom thread doesn’t get picked up so essentially no first stich is made. How can I fix that? I have to mention that it used to work, but not simply it doesn’t pick it up.
Thank you so much. I am a rookie when it comes to sewing. Only made a handful of things. It's normally ages in between projects and I tried threading the machine and I just couldn't get it! There was too much tension and it was bunching. I am so annoyed by it it's actually 3 20 in the morning and I had to RU-vid it to see where I went wrong. Now I can sleep easy lol.
Ahhh. It’s so frustrating when it just won’t work. Hopefully it’s making sense for you now 😊✨ not worth losing sleep over (but like you, I would too x)
Abi's Den I made an envelope pillowcase for my son today! Thank you again! I also had a go at some button holes! You have actually made a big difference to my day. Very greatful. 😆
I'm starting sewing lessons tomorrow and feel slightly nervous as I'm a beginner. I have a Brother L14 and am so pleased I found you. I'm following your instructions and it's working well for me. Thank you so much ....
Thank you! I just picked up an L14 for $50 second hand. I thought the tension was knackered, but it turns out, I just hadn't threaded the bobbin correctly.
very helpful video. I've just ordered a machine as I need to make cushion covers for a camper van bed. I've never sewn before so will definitly be coming back and following this video when my machine gets delivered.
I am having a werid thread problem right now... One side is perfect while the other is all stringy??? I have tried changing the needles, the pressure, the thread, and the stitch... but I can’t get rid of it??? This is my first time using this sewing machine... and I have lots of practice with other sewing machines... but this one I can’t get to work??? Can I have some help?
I wonder did Phoebe know that the filange is is here and not in the plane !! joking aside great tutorial- I learnt alot as I got this machine and needed to know the workings etc of it. Thanks Abi. x
Thank you for this! I’m hoping to get this very sewing machine for Christmas as my old machine is done for (it’s an old novum machine that isn’t electric- you used the handle and spun it around to use it!) and I think I will get it, especially now since I see how easy it is to use compared to my old machine. The video was very informative and helpful. Thank you!
Excellent video much better than the one that came with the machine!! Could you please do e demo video on how to use the tension dials - I can’t seem to get it right - thanks
newbie question - how are you meant to sew something in the middle of a piece of fabric after ive thread is loaded it stops you from doing anything except on the edges
Fiona Quirke thank you for your question Fiona, and your lovely comments x machines are like shoes, you have to find a good fit for you x I’ve had both, the LS14s are what I use in my class for absolutely new sewers and I think it’s adequately suitable for lots of jobs.
Do you have any reccomendations for thread? And what it is best to be on? As in the plastic tube in the middle. I have thread here but the tube the thread is on it rather thick. And i think this maybe why i am getting goid stitches on one side but the other is really messy. Is it best to have a narrow plastic tube? Thanks x
