5:47 That CGI in this scene is almost perfect. The photorealism is actually scary. How this simple, cheesy, monster movie prequel ends up looking better than 99% of movies is astounding.

Looking back at the visual effects for Kong: Skull Island, it's interesting to see how well they old up till to this day, and how much the Wingard directed movies feel a lot less refined than this one. A key aspect is surely the details and photography, how every detail of Kong's skin, fur and texture makes him look incredibly big and imposing, even if in the movie is "just" 30 meters tall.

This is epic...!!! 💯🔥💯🔥...!!! One ☝🏻 of the best CGI I EVER SEEN...!!! And it rivals GODZILLA 2014...!!! Hands down...!!! Way harder to make a CGI APE WITH ALL THAT HAIR vs a GODZILLA LIKE CREATURE...!!!! Just BEAUTIFUL...!!!

Aaannnddd......... IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE. seriously, the CGI of 2019's "GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS" was worse than this CGI and the CGI of 2021's "GODZILLA vs KONG" ended up being even WORSE than the CGI of 2019's "GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS".
