This same type of thing happened with Justin Gaejthe against Chandler… There is videos on his IG working on that uppercut and using footwork to land it clean! Trevor is one heck of a coach and mentor!
People really under appreciate this skill. People who haven't fought don't understand the tunnel vision you have in your first few fights. The ability to expand your ability to perceive your coaches instructions though the crowd and make adjustments mid fight is truly a skill. Between rounds is one thing. Mid round is something else.
man i miss welterweight Till, seeing him step on the scales recently has been rough he used to be jacked, but seeing Hooker make 145 should open Darrens eyes
@@mrmiyagi3533 brawler BJJ. Not exactly the type of skillset that is gonna cause a lot of problems at LW. I expect he will end up at FW and getting torched by Ortega eventually.
@@proudindian9140 I don't think Paddy gets past Green, Dober, Moises or any of those guys who are sort of on the fringe of being ranked. Hell I'm not even sure I'd pick him against Moicano, or Hernandez either.
@@sarcasticgenius8563 he's young and he's gonna have time to get better and better, so there is easily a chance he could switch things up and beat them.
Credit to his coaches calling for an uppercut. Not only was it the right counter to how Luigi was ducking as he entered the pocket, it also took away the opening Paddy was leaving every time he overextended with the right hand. I think Paddy will do well in the UFC. Yes, his defense is kinda sloppy at times, but the changes he needs to make really aren’t too major--tighten up his striking a little (more strikes up the middle, uppercuts, body shots; less winging round strikes, over-reaching right crosses, etc.), stop leaving his chin exposed when backing out of exchanges or separating, just basic fundamentals, really. He has the tools, just needs polishing.
Paddy and McCann what a combination, happy you guys achieved this amazing milestone. Hoping on a lot more milestones to be achieved for both of ya, another fan here for both of you!
Paddy I will have a old school straighter with you lad, I'll probably win, but we will shake hands. IF u win lad I'll get u a pint, doubt I could afford your scran though! I'll save up.
Molly, we're here to shake up the world x love ❤ I love seeing scousers being scouse!!! My ma would buzz of this! Buzzed of mollie and made me and paddy wash up... true scouse legend
Yeah, doesn’t seem healthy does it…Khabib did similar shit. Had to be hospitalized and cancel fights more than once from cutting weight. Why can’t these guys just fight closer to their natural weight? Oh…because they won’t win. Khabib made a hall of fame career out of laying on top of smaller lighter weight guys who flat out couldn’t get up. He dominated no doubt. But the fact still remains he struggled to make that lower weight over and over and over. And we call him the greatest ever? Nah fight somebody your own size.
@@mrorangecookie1430 I mean if a flying triangle is a definition of skill for you then fair enough. Flashy submissions ain't gonna hold up at an elite level. He's a skilled grappler but his game as a whole is a chaotic mess, he just isn't very good transitioning from his striking to wrestling to be a serious threat at this level. Hey but whatever you say, sunshine.
@@LordFootquad Trying too hard? I said some pretty basic stuff that should be obvious to anyone who watched his fights. People that think he is going to be elite at 155 are in for a very rude awakening. Of course that doesn't mean people shouldn't enjoy watching him fight but let's not label him as a "new era fighter".
I remember rushing to get home thinking i missed paddys fight, pulling in to my driveway and jumping on espn + an realizing i got on as paddy was walking in the cage. And knowing how excited i was to watch paddy, instead of walking in my house after working 12 hours i sat on my porch knowing my wife and daughter were sleeping. And as paddy finished i lost it, woke up everybody in my apartment complex lol. My wifes pissed asking what happened and i told her paddy the baddy did it!! Shes like, bro, calm down with your fan boy ass lol
I remember driving home from a hair appointment with my wife and I, and right when I got home and turned on the TV Paddy was stepping into the Octagon - perfect timing!
@@p0KerViK1NG67 No one wants to see Leon with his 0 interesting conversations, trash personality, ego the size of McGregor's...and the fact that the dude makes it his duty NOT TO FINISH other fighters, it makes it his sole quest to win on points, and never go for the finish unless it's 100% guaranteed and with 0 risks. Ufc made the right call with Leon, no one wants to see a boring wrestler, but man a boring striker? that's rough for Leon, but UFC is paying his crumbs and always overlooking him, because at the end of the day, UFC exists due to people paying money for excitement, they will never invest in a company with fighters like Leon Edwards, leon is actually not really a fighter, he's a sportsman, but he ain't no fighter...the dude got rocked by Diaz of all people, meaning his chin is garbage, he just doesn't get hit often because HE FIGHTS FOR POINTS! That is the reason among others, why leon will always be overlooked and only given the opportunity if there is no one else in line, because investing anything in Leon will get you 0 returns from a sportsman with 0 excitement, 0 personality, and almost no finishes as a striker :) that also takes 0 risks, which is why he ain't getting the rewards :) i 14 god damn UFC fights, Leon has won ONE SINGLE BONUS, in a fight that he actually managed to knock a dude out :P he has 0 bonuses of any kind other than that which was in 2015, almost 7 years without a god damn bonus, and you want this sleeping pill of a sportsman to fight for the belt? no way bro :)) Also, Leon's voice sounds like he has a pair of testicles stuck mid way through his throat and he can't seem to be able to fully swallow them, i can't stand hearing the dude speak let alone watch his garbage fights. If you look at Leon like an employee, Leon shows up for work, and does his job, does he do anything extra? does he take any risks in getting a promotion? nope, Leon does exactly what's necessary as per his contract, but he is not giving us fans or the UFC nothing above his standard, and that is why, to enclose, he will always be overlooked, because he is a boring, poor and risky investment. P.S. He also only fought 2 ranked fighters outta his whole 10 fight win streak, he fought Vicente when both were unranked (now Vicente is at 4, and deserves all the praise for being a superbly entertaining fighter) and Belal whom was at 10 and currently still at rank 10..so basically Leon has an extremely padded win streak, with no notable fighters except 2 of them. And he also has this 10 fight win streak...over a period of 6 years, which means not even 2 fights per year, so in my eyes Leon cherry picked his opponents to gain this streak, would've never gone this far if he actually fought more ranked fighters.
Why promote Leon edwards it’s the entertainment business no offence to Edwards his fights are boring for what most ufc fans want and let’s be honest his personality is not exactly edgy . Nothing against Edwards but that’s life . Colby was going down the same path and new he needed to do something about it
@@iandowie7014 I added a little more on top :)) never too late to trash Leon Edwards and his 10 fight win streak he obtained over 6 years while fighting only 2 ranked fighters (one whom was unranked when they fought, and the other being at number 10) and people actually think he deserves anything except a smack from Masvidal to maybe wake him up from the fairy tale inside his head. Also he's earned a single performance of the night bonus, in 14 UFC fights over 7 god damn years...someone actually look me in the eyes and tell me Leon is not extremely over rated by the "purist" fans, he's a trash point fighter whom is VERY bad for the business and entertainment side of the sport. Especially when i hear fighters complaining about pay raise...welp with people like Leon, you can rest assured you will never get a pay raise, cause the excuse fighters give is that "bro we're risking our lives in there, we have to be paid a LOT cause we can die in there"...besides the fact that literally no one has ever died in an MMA ring since it's inception, chances are no one ever will with strikers like Leon and grappling heavy fighters like Islam that know 0 striking and spam take downs and don't even pound you, they just control and submit you..... Again, effectiveness in winning does not mean the sport will make make money or survive, that is why these "wrestlers" or BJJ players almost always end up doing MMA, because wrestling/BJJ is coma inducing to watch and so it does not generate revenue, and so wrestlers not wanting to die of hunger, come to MMA where they do very well. The bad part about that is that they bring with them the exact style that made people not watch the sport they left from :))) so they are chasing away fans with their boring arse styles. At least Khabib tried and actually wanted to strike a bit before going for the takedowns, but man Islam does no such thing :)) which will in turn hurt the sport and it's revenue. I'd rather watch football or god damn pin pong than watch hug fests and stretching :)
This guy is hilarious man hes like a character out of austin powers😂😂😂 The haircut and everything, Normally i judge fighters strictly on their skill but i love paddys charisma
I have a STRONG feeling that this guy's gonna get knocked out real bad not very long from now...! He got loopholes and opponents gonna figure him out real soon unless he improvises
@@limajamirmighty5837 If you're not confident enough to bet you own money, you shouldn't be expressing your opinion. You're just shit talking like a woman.
Dude. Who fucking cares? Take your negative energy and go do some productive. Because these kind of comments and the 16 ppl who liked it need to take a good look in the mirror and ask ”why do I even enjoy fighting”.
Nice behind the scenes. Paddy is a good fighter. He hear was his Coach said to him. He scream : Uppercut ! And Paddy made a uppercut and hit him full Power. 👍💯
I mean I love him and I am sure with his current skill level he can run over a couple of people, but he needs to stay evolving to make it to the top of the division, his performance was impressive but not flawless at all and the top guys will exploit those holes and according to his social media, he doesn't seem hungry to improve and evolve, it looks like he just balloons up and goes on holidays until fight camp and just gets fit when its time to fight. I see him winning a couple of fights and then people will have studied him find his weaknesses and capitalize.
why would you cut away the part where he just stares at the dude grins and sings along that terrible song. that shit was hilarious and made him instantly a character
Already was a thing, I just hope they don’t push him too fast; his reliance on his chin at lightweight isn’t gonna go as well as it would in other weight classes.
Doesn't really work like that.. If they tried to promote Volkan Oezdemir or Frankie Edgar like that it just wouldn't work like with O'malley, Conor or Paddy.. You gotta have some interesting personality
They give more press to anyone with a personality to potentially bring in numbers, because people like you will more likely click, and comment, etc. Just business
i dont give a fuck what people comment. But molly and paddy are something else. Any other fellow scouser knows how it went offfffff when they fought at the echo.
Two great fights, two great wins from Liverpool own. Great work Paddy nice uppercut, but going forward please please keep that chin down and covered when you throw. 🙏🏿👊🏿
Wasn’t too impressed with his debut. He looked very stiff and was nearly knocked out. If he stays that way he will eventually get ko’d as he faces top competition
Wasn't buying anything tbh. He got crackalacked like 3 times and 1 of those almost had him kneeling. He might think he's invincible but he has a whole toolbox he needs to sharpen.
Some Fighters need to be Rocked to bring out their Best. Maybe hes one of those kind of Fighters. But that's a Very Dangerous way to operate in the UFC. Hes fixing to find out sooner or Later. But yeah I like the Kid.
This dude is a killer, very funny name + haircut. I would never, I mean never, expect to be beaten by someone who calls himself Patty The Baddy. You can’t judge a book by its cover
I've seen his fights. I have nothing against him and to me he deserves any encouragement and support. I rather see the school drop-outs doing something honest to make their space in this society and earn honest living than going the wrong way and end up behind bars with poor victim's life being destroyed for life. I wish him all the best and success but I worry about his weak chin as he got caught then recovered.
Looks like he has a chin to me. He won't have one for very long though if he doesn't improve his striking defense. Needs to tuck his chin and keep his hands up or he's going to get knocked out when he fights better competition.
