+bkcpisme They pay their fighters more than any other fighting organization? What a dumb point. They're the UFC, of course they'll pay more because they have they make more money. They still underpay their athletes. Fact.
+1ceYourPimpHand That's not really how that works. What is the market rate for a UFC fighter? It is what the UFC pays. Therefore they're getting what they're worth. If they went anywhere else, they wouldn't earn as much. When you say they underpay, you have to say who you are comparing them to. Is there any other fighting organization (for MMA, muay thai, bjj, and literally any other fighting sport) that pays more? No.
the average low level UFC fighter fights 3 times a year (12k to show + 12 to win) that's about 72k plus chance to win 50k fight bonus each fight, maximum pay output would be 220,000 starting year. not bad
ThumbdownMan low draw fighters or starting out fighters make 10k to show and 10k to win most of the time. Take that , minus managers , trainers, travels and eating clean there's not much left. Plus the reebok deal is shitty for new hire fighters.
Reebok deal is actually BETTER for upcoming fighters, it's worse for some seasoned fighters. Also, now newly signed up and coming fighters get 12k per fight +12k if they win. For comparison, in Belator or etc these same fighters would get 2500 and less. So get your information straight before you comment, cause now you're talking out of your ass.
Honestly, when the Reebok deal expires, they best not renew it. The UFC/WME are under a lot of pressure after that 4 billion dollar spend. They have to reach certain profit margins in the coming months. If they can't afford to pay their fighters fairly, I think given the growth of the sport in the last few years, fighters could make *a lot* of sponsorship money, if they're smart! Hopefully the UFC don't mess that up & they learned their lesson, eh?
"Hey guys! We're giving these free benefits for the fighters so that they can't complain about the shitty pay!" If I was a UFC fighter, I wouldn't spend a minute in that facility.
1:58 Is the reason The Netherlands and New Zealand (among many others) flags are not on here is because, aesthetically they are too similar to Russia and Australia?
Lmao I'm trying to see the positives here. Didn't Francis Ngannou start training here recently? At least some parts are useful (not sure about the manicured gardens though)
Wow. What an absolutely complete facility. They've thought of everything, and then some. It's sad that the Fertittas, are out of the business now. Imo, it would've been much easier for ALL the fighters to eventually get the pay they actually deserve from them, instead of the current big wig owners.
This is the least they could do. Their fighters get paid bread crumbs for risking their mental and physical health. Even Their top fighters are not getting a fair share of the profits.
UFC doesn't pay bad guys just hit that next level and dont renegotiate their deal are make a bad deal in the beginning now they're a star with pull and fighting on an old contract or guys just dont put people in seats but are good and want what people who fill arenas make. Guess they need to tweak the structure but you dont want guys giving 50% effort, n cruse control making big money because its a giving. Everyone cant be paid even they knew this was the structure when they got in it
I guess. I mean, the one with Ronda Rousey looked cool. The one with Forrest Griffin looks more like a video game poster; there's a real uncanny valley vibe to it.
Rename it "The Farm" ..which is effectively what it is - production plant for fighters where every facet of their development can be managed. It will produce a new prototype of passive company man in a fight culture of complete homogeneity. The UFC has gone to shit with only Mcgregor keeping the whole thing afloat. Before the sale,it was pretty good, now its gone all WWF and each gobshite has his own tiresome schtick.Perhaps the fertitas and dana got the timing right after all.Once these dam companies get to a certain scale ,they all turn to a monochromatic drone of advertising and manufactured melodrama. An afternoon spent watching American football, baseball, nba is an afternoon spent with matchsticks keeping your eye lids open or bollixed on a 15 cans. Bring back the off world charm of pride and kicking a man in the face when he`s down..perfect for our unravelling culture.
