Behind-the-scenes: NUH Decontamination Exercise 

NUH held its annual decontamination exercise to assess the hospital's preparedness for handling mass casualty incidents involving hazardous materials. These drills are crucial for our staff to respond effectively to emergencies. In situations involving hazardous materials and radiological agents, our decontamination teams are the frontline heroes. They are deployed rapidly to decontaminate patients before they enter the Emergency Department, preventing any further exposure. About 250 staff members from six hospital departments and three national centres took part in the exercise on 29 June 2024.
