@@losamarillos88because not everyone is miserable and ungreatful. Why not say thanks? Its a quick kind gesture. Really dont understand people anymore.
Same, when i was in Frankfurt i bought a T-shirt which had "Germany" wrote on it. When i entered the plane the captain/copilot really liked it and said "i like your T-shirt". I had a big smile on my face and said "Thank you!" In a very high pitched voice. He was very kind, it made my day☺️😊❤
@@Lammdogg I agree with you. I’m glad they do it. I think they should also do it when people board. Sends a message that if the pilot wants you off preflight there is no question. Think things would improve dramatically. Except on Spirit.
@@thereissomecoolstuff "Except on spirit" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The pilots that do it, like my friend Paul here are a special breed. Being a pilot isn't really customer centric. That's why I've always found it special when pilots do this.
He did all that commuting for a flat zero dollars and zero cents.... ask me how I know. This job is terrible if you have to commute. Otherwise living locally, best job on the planet.
@@10p56 commuting is on your own time, unpaid. And you pay for your hotel out of pocket if you have to go in the day prior. Did it at the regionals… awful
I feel you. I took the train a few weeks ago and I'm still tired from my trip. Having chronic illness and wheelchairs make travel difficult and way too tiring.
As a retired corporate pilot I know all too well what you go through, with one exception. I could get a call at two in the morning and be told the boss wants to leave ASAP for who knows where, and as soon as possible, we’d be airborne. We also never had a schedule. A trip could be from a few hours to my longest trip, two MONTHS. But we all know the deal when we get into it, so no real surprises here. Be safe out there. Thanks for reminding me why I’m glad to be retired. But I sure miss flying !!
My grandpa and all uncles were pilots. He flew in WWII and uncles had an air show then went on to be professional pilots, some of the first people to do the job. I love meeting my flight captain when I fly. Thank you and your crew for all they do to make my travels great!!!
LoveMiniThingz just a question for you, are you old enough to recall British airways flight 09 that lost all engines. The flight was in 1982. The crew was incredible, unaware that they were flying into an ash cloud from volcano that had been erupting for many months over Jakarta Indonesia. The crew worked together, able to restart all engines, land safely w/o any injuries. On landing the windscreen was opaque, so they had to focus on the side windows to land the craft. Whatever individuals beliefs are, this flight was a miracle. Sorry to say the pilot (captain) of this flight just passed recently. Well done BA crew of BA 09. Well done all !!
Grape210 absolutely, they are trained, to keep passengers content and safe. They do realize whatever the size of the aircraft whether small or large, ie double decker; they are responsible for crew/passengers on board.
Doesn't the flying get boring quite fast as it's just the same thing time and time again? I've been thinking of becoming a trucker but it's also mostly driving on highways so have thought it'd get boring fast. Of course it depends with everyone. Some like a "boring job" while some people can't do the same thing for 2 days straight.
@@zenshy2139 I'm a trucker and I can say, it is not the same thing. Yes it's mostly driving, everyday brings different or unique challenges. Even on dedicated lanes where you are going to the same areas every week, it's different each time
Working for a german airline here. We don't have a dressing room at the company. Everybody usually has their uniform on already during the commute (and we have to clean it ourselves too). We have very classic Briefing rooms though. On foreign stations we brief in the aircraft same as shown.
EWR is actually my home airport, so its cool to see in in this light. Never knew there was a room exclusively for pilots to change into their work uniforms
As a hopeful United Aviate student, seeing things like this gives me so much excitement while also slight anxiety seeing just how busy and tightly scheduled pilot life can be. Regardless, Im still excited!
It's a very desirable life for some, with vast healthy benefits. Aviation is just the trick of the trade... anyone in Aviation will tell you, you have it or you don't. It's so cool, you get this feeling of how special your job truly is, and as a benefit, the pay's nice! Always looking for more Aviation friends!🤙🏼
Super cool! My classmates and I are doing multi-crew coordination training on the 737 and I’m very excited to be part of this industry soon enough. Of course there will be ups and down as with everything in life. But it’s nice to have the ATPLs written and done with. My dreams are now visible on the horizon!
I been on a 757 before! Very fun takeoff! It was my first flight and now I’m obsessed with planes and flying! You got a new subscriber!! Keep up the good content, and take some time out to relax ❤
Alexiosftw 747 was a beauty as well, referencing pan am "clipper" double deck, such a beautiful craft that was ahead of its time. Actually Klm is the oldest airline still flying to this day. That's not a bad thing, at all.
Just remember a safe flight begins with good maintenance on the ground, please remember all the Aircraft Mechanics that keep aircraft safe so pilots and passengers have something safe to fly on.
THANKS FOR GREAT INFO BEHIND THE SCENES. I ALWAYS WANTED TO ASK PILOTS, BUT KNEW THEY WERE BUSY. ALSO WISH I COULD RIDE IN COCKPIT. MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND'S HUSBAND. D. HOLLOMAN IS A PILOT I THINK WITH DELTA. TALKED TO HIM ONCE ON PHONE, BUT HE SEEMS TO BE A NICE MAN TOO. I PRAY OVER YOUR PLANES FOR SAFETY USUALLY EVERY WEEK & HAVE ASKED GOD TO PLACE ANGELS UNDER YOUR WINGS. ALL AIRLINES STAFF I HAVE FLOWN WERE WONDERFUL, THANKS SO MUCH.
The 757 is a nice looking plane, but most beautiful? Have you ever seen a De Havilland Comet, Convair CV990 Coronado, Sud Caravelle, or on the prop side, a Lockheed Constellation? Those are from when they still made beautiful airliners.
I’ve been an airline pilot at one of the other majors for 24 years…and I commute as well… I’m glad that this Captain is making the best of his job, but it’s not all that glamorous… you’re away from home more than you’re at home… it’s not an easy life, but I do understand that there are worse jobs to have..Cheers CA… fly safe…
Gosh , how I envy anyone who can fly so calm , cool and collected - I start praying the minute I set foot in the airport parking and don’t stop until the plane lands for the last time 🙏🙏🙏🙏😊‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
How did you afford ATP school? Are you in debt for it? All programs that offer Zero -> ATP cost $150,000. Great programs because you get 2-4 years of training and unlimited flight hours but damn thats a lot of debt for a job that isn’t guaranteed.
@@rek5609 Yeah but unfortunately a plan B isn’t what most wanna do. If you wanna be a pilot you wanna be a pilot. The best way is really to go in debt for it. As sad as that is. But you will make your money back within a couple years. I say only go in debt if you 100% know you can complete it. Because for me I am a lazy-ish person when it comes to boom studying and my private pilots license took longer than it should have. So I wouldn’t trust going in a program like that. You also can always become a private pilot flight instructor which will be about $20k and you can earn easily $70k/year that way then work your way towards a commercial airline pilot.
It's always been a dream to be a pilot. I have been an engineer on a Boeing 747 and have also done a day fixing the Concorde for BA. I still believe I will be able to fly one day.
Hello Captain. Im a fueler at EWR for UA. If I have ever fueled any of your planes it has been a pleasure. More "Fast flights and soft landings to you." (Quote by Sky.)
Great video and thank you very much for the aptitude tests, I could never find any! It's a shame I've only found out about this course after enrolling with another school, but the tests are really helpful. P.D.: Also, just to nitpick, when pronouncing the Je- in FTEJérez, in Spain this is pronounced similarly to the he- in hello, for example ;D
Im lucky be a freight dog (B767 cargo pilot). I live in Hawaii, drive ten minutes to the airport and park close to the plane which is about a 3 minute walk. Easy peasy.
I envy what you do. I went to WMU for a semester in the hopes of being a commercial pilot when I was 21. No such luck with passing the first aerospace class very well. I HATED all of the story problems in the math section! You had to be able to figure them out so quickly. That wasn’t gonna happen! Lol! Seeing your videos allows me to live vicariously through you! ❤
