Welcome to the reaction video to “Day in the Life of Jew”

I wanted to take this opportunity to break down the rituals, mention a lot that didn’t make it into the original video, answer some questions that were raised, respond to some comments, explain the disclaimers, and show my work. I hope you enjoy it.

You Zionist Hebrews will Parrish. Thou shalt not kill means Jehovah is a pacifist judge. Never personally guilty of killing a killer non pacifist. Hey bonehead read 1 Chronicle 22:8 and 28:3. Your a violent evil man dumber than a box of rocks. Stop your lies. Jesus is the Messiah a pacifist Isaiah 53:9 Messiah did no violence. Your Messiah was born and in Bethlehem and pierced on the mount. Your going to hell unless you accept Jesus period.

This 'reaction' video complements the original "Day in the Life" in a most wholesome way. One of the most powerful takeaways for me is the prospect of bringing intentionality into one's everyday actions, words, and thoughts. This "mundane intentionality" is literally a life-changing practice. Thank you! ❤❤❤

Would you be interested in translating a Jewish prayer book, with your language, for us? Even if at least one prayer at a time? Many of us find it hard to connect with the language in most sidurim. But your language for each prayer is beautiful. If I had a prayer book with your language it would be invaluable to me 🙏

Very beautiful! We would all be mentally healthier to stay focused like that, rather than letting the worries of the day take control.

Thank you Zevi for this and all videos. I’m going through a lot and trying to really connect with Hashem and these really help. You have such a beautiful way of explaining and connecting with us.

Thank you Zevi. Excellent job. I would really love it if you made a whole series that teaches the inner (nondual?) Meaning of jewish practice. I already started applying some of your ideas into my daily practice. It's such a treasure!🎉

I love the way that the Baal Shem Tov draws upon Psalm 16:8... translating in an freely open way as, "With HaShem's Presence before me, I will manage to maintain equanimity in the face of the divisive and fragmenting forces that the world imposes." Which relates to the Hasidic concept of 'Hishtavus' about which Moshe Gersht has written the very nice book, 'It's all the Same to Me. A Torah Guide to Inner Peace and Love of Life.'

What a great INSIGHT... "The starting point is during the night". It can be analyzed in many ways (from darkness came light).

I enjoyed sounding out the Hebrew words when they were on screen, even if I did butcher them badly. My routine is different, but this is a reminder that anything can be a meditation, especially in the transitional moments. The prayers bring to light the significance of what we do on a daily basis. I am reminded of a long run I went on over this past summer repeating a Hindu word on my exhales. The thought of suffering in the hot sun, accelerating when my body wanted to rest, warms my soul as we are now in winter where I live. I find that the rhythm of the breath is a good memorization tool so I shall try this with some of these Hebrew words. Also I think embracing suffering is a part of any routine; we are rewarded by having a conversation with other people after the labor of brushing our teeth for example. There is no reward without labor, the rhythm of transitioning between these two states provides profound meaning.

After reciting Modeh Ani every morning for so many years, it becomes almost mechanical and the intentionality of it is lost. It is beautiful as you explains it and reminds us of what it means. However, how can we constantly maintain the awareness of what we are really reciting, rather than saying it automatically at waking up? Judaism is a beautiful religion and it saddens me that so many Jews do not realise that.

Many people out there really want to learn about Judaism. Jews never put pressure on anyone and it's so refreshing to have a religion that is NOT a gatekeeper to heaven and the afterlife. I truly believe that dispelling ignorance is one way to combat antisemitism. Thanks Zev, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord...

how can someone who is exploring judaism begin to incorporate ritual into their practice? I have begun to do daily torah study. but honestly it isn't that easy to find sources for beginners on what to do and how. I want to speak with a rabbi but feel shy since i am on a spiritual and psychedlic journey into religion... looking for a seekers route in. come on comments, dont get me with that bloodline stuff just save it.

Great video. So quick question on the Torah Study you mentioned , when is the most appropriate time to study, between prayers, before or after. In the morning or afternoon, both or is a bit flexible?
@SeekersofUnity
@SeekersofUnity 7 месяцев назад
Thank you Francisco. The best time is all day. At the very least a little in the morning and a little in the evening. After prayer, unless you’re studying something to help you get into prayer.

I'm reading the Sefer Yetzirah, by Aryeh Kaplan, and on page 62, it says the Kabbalists perform different physical activities to unify the sephirot, do you know what any of these physical activities are? Any good books on how to train my chariot, while you're at it. Just make sure to feed it, and keep it facing the right way and not straying to far from home? Thank you for the Zohar videos, very needed information on what I'm going through, I started watching it a year ago when you made it then stopped, but just finished it. Is the washing hands ritual after waking up a unification of the sephirot activity, since they were all just in the water together, and putting my hands in water could acknowledge how they are with me, even when I wake, and am not having them dream for me?
