Omg! My Bangladeshi grandad used to be a cook in a little Bangladeshi cafe back in yhe 50s& 60s. The man who owns monsoon really looked like him. Brought back great memories. We moved from that area 30 years ago now. Great see it. Does anyone remember the East end kebabish that is now a pub 🤔 great authentic take away food. Thanks for doing this film xxxx

Latif you need to encourage and inspire the bangali youths to visit their local restaurant. For these restaurants to continue they need to make the local youth welcome and cater for them. Most of the youths from TH go outside the area to eat, not knowing they have the best food on there door steps. Your doing excellent job Latif for helping out the local Bangladeshi restaurant. Keep it up. We want to see every single restaurant reviewed one at time ☺️ test their food.

I originally watched for the beautiful food Latif, but recently you really are turning into more than a chef/presenter. You bridge gaps with Bengali culture and the general public so effortlessly. I really feel after the Brick Lane vids that you can make a difference to the Bengali community. The rapport with you and Shel is great, maybe a Bengali taste tour of the UK coming? Whatever road you take may it be paved with blessings.

Work colleagues lol. Looks great, l'm from Manchester and have been having curries since the early seventies, when my dad took me to the Manzil in Longsight! You could buy tins of Nazirs curry sauce from a little shop they had in the restaurant. I thought it was great, back then you couldn't find pastes and gravies. My dad would cook chicken in Madras or Rogan Josh with rice, and l felt like a king. Good memories.

Latif is absolutely spot on, the red or any other food colouring destroys the authentic fabric of the meat, chicken or vegetables. I can’t stand the amount of food colouring you visibly see in the meals of South Asians restaurants and these bad cheap habits need to stop. Just by adding vibrant colours doesn’t magically make the food taste nice for example look at Turkish, Lebanese, Arabic, Afghan and Persian grilled and no-grilled meat, they detest using colouring, they depend on the natural taste and colour of the meat to bring out its authentic taste, colour and smell plus the meat also looks aesthetically pleasing to the eye which is why grilled food in these places are so popular much more popular than South Asian restaurants. Please Bengali, Indian, Pakistan or any other South Asian restaurants please stop using cheap food colouring because not only does it look horrible but it also tastes horrible and could potentially harm your customers.

I absolutely love your channel and have learned so much about how to cook the best food in the world. However, being taken through Brick Lane and into various kitchens to see chefs creating this wonderment under the pressure of a camera and restaurants bulging with customers (so good to see) has taken your entertainment value to a new level. I was born in London but have lived in Ireland for 20 years. The thing I miss most about London is Brick Lane! I'm over for 5 days soon and will absolutely be visiting - last time I went to Sheba (excellent) but I think it will be Monsoon this time. Thanks again - superb content!

I wish British Bangladeshi youth visit these restaurants like our Pakistani brothers and sisters who visit Pakistani places so much so that most of the customers sustaining Pakistani places are Pakistani. I always feel that Indian/Bengali restaurants don't market themselves or clearly sell halal meat (even though they are). The other thing is alchohol - a lot of youth don't want to visit places that sell booze but yet, plenty of Turkish restaurants sell booze and other non Bengali/Muslim owned enterprises sell it but we're happy to visit these places (e.g. Nando). I think restaurants should not make booze so visible if they are selling it (ideally they shouldn't).

If you were born on a desert island and didn’t know about religion you wouldn’t have an issue with it or other things that are man-made constructs like mandatory hijabs. Religion and its rules creates horrible division in the world. Religion causes more harm than good. That’s the truth.
