Mr burns voice is just amazing

If people doubt the acting required to make the characters come alive in the show, they should really see these live readings. Here the talent is so obvious. No animation, no music, nothing. Just the actors, and they still manage to make it so honest and real.

If I was a famous voice actor with a very recognizable character voice I would randomly dial phone numbers and be in character the whole time. It would never get old..

The fact that I can actually visually remember the scene they’re reenacting shows how great The Simpson’s is.

You can tell the writing is really good when the audience is laughing hard to a verbal description of a visual gag they haven't actually seen.

When Al Jean reads the stage direction it really makes you realize how incredible the writing really is... I thank God everyday for the Simpsons... The greatest show ever.... and now that they've been on TV for so long and broken all these record it just goes to show you.

An underrated form of art.

It is unreal to watch this. It's like reverse reality. When I hear their forces I can't get the images of the characters out of my head. LOL

when you realize that the bassist from spinal tap does Mr. Burns voice

I don't know if it's just me, but do they actually sorta resemble their characters a bit? That's awesome if that's intentional.

I am a huge huge lover and fan of Mr Burns. He is so awesome and excellent. And Harry Shearer is truly awesome too. And he is excellent as well. You rock Harry and Mr Burns.

The way Harry does the "what do you think of today's popular music scene?" line and the way he looks at Yeardley is absolute gold. He's 100% into the character.

This is why the simpsons sitcom animation is the best in the whole universe. Best voice-over actress who did the stunning job as they always does, funny and witty script/story/plot, simple but very creative, et cetera. The simpsons sitcom have a unique and interesting/intriguing style of conveying the story of it's own terms. I wish this sitcom keeps maintain it's position and never end just like other sitcom. This is simply the best U.S sitcom ever made. Thanks to matt groening who directed and created this whole episode (well it's just an assumption so don't judge) and the other department who brought simpsons family back to life. Thanks for the hard work and their devotion including lisa, mr.burns, homer, bart, smithers, marge, moe, dr.hibbert, maggie, ned and his wife, lovejoy and his wife, chief wiggum and his goons, the trio bullies, milhouse, and many other voice actress. Once again, thank you. This sitcom means a lot to me.

Proof that the Simpsons would still work with a laugh track. This take was also much funnier than the one they used in the show.

Lisa will be a hard part to recast if Yeardly Smith could no longer do it, very iconic.

I'm tempted to say that's the greatest TV show ever. I remember it from the Tracy Ullman years. They've never lost their crazy appeal.

Yeardly is actually a pretty good actress and she's without a doubt very pretty and adorable. I love chicks with those adorable faces that match their even more adorable and distinct voices.... Fran, Yeardly and Jennifer Tilly as well. ❤️❤️❤️

OMG. Did you see that? I'm giving up my hopes in being a voice actor! I mean, they looked like they could've done that in their sleep! That was brilliant work, especially on Yeardley's part.

The fact that they could come up with such brilliant satire and present it in a way that was appealing to kids and adults was pretty phenomenal. The early years of this show were just legendary.

She does that voice so perfectly because it's her own voice. I remember them mentioning it when she was on Herman's Head. God, I'm old. I remember Herman's Head.

I remember seeing Yeardley in a Stephen King movie back in the eighties with Emilio Esteves, think it was called Wired.

I absolutely loved this video I knew who played Lisa, Yeardley Smith who also played in Maximum Overdrive which I LOVED, her voice's dramatics catches your attention. Her tone is unusual & I think thats why I like it so much, but I never knew who Played C.M. Burns until now. Mr Burns is the one we love to hate lol

I remember Yeardley from "Inside Herman's Head"...she was an actress on the show (Fox, early 90s when all of there shows had a green-ish tint color)

I guess Mr. Burns didn't know that Lisa is good at playing instruments, like her saxophone. The voice actors who did them are very good, since they have great talent.

The first time I saw Al Jean I was suprised. I knew what his voice sounded like from the DVD audio commentaries. So I always pictured a guy who looked like The Simpsons character Professor Frink.

Now, I see how brazilian voiceover is one of the best in the world. Both Lisa and Mr burns brazilian voices sound exactly like the original.

Delightful. Makes me think: it would be fantastic to see a video recording of just one table read of the show, clearly and smoothly recorded, with professional editing done to it. The only Simpsons live read video I've tried watching was dreadful-- basically someone holding her/his phone up at a big TV screen that seems about 20 feet away (and there were people milling around in the room, their silhouettes very distracting).

How is this show still on the air? The SImpsons was an ancient TV show when this video was uploaded 13 years ago. Regardless, for me, Maximum Overdrive will always be the ultimate Yeardley Smith performance.
