Unnecessary... I love the Simpsons and Michael Jackson but at this point I am so pissed and disappointed but those insulting comments. It's not funny at all, just rude

Their stupid jokes don't even make sense. I can't imagine why anyone would want to come after him anyway. Just disrespectful.

So. Cartoon voice actors are sooooo 'above' everyone that they feel it's not only appropriate to openly talk trash about their colleagues, but it's also appropriate to make fun of someone's DISEASE? I knew there was a reason that I stopped watching The Simpsons 10 years ago and never allowed my kids to watch any of the episodes that were made in the last 10 years either.

I haven't really watched Simpson properly in the past only except the episode with Michael's voice. It was wonderful and I am sure Michael to lend his voice back some 30 years ago was the biggest highlight for them. Why would these people not even giving the respect? Sick

I know it was before he died, and no, it wasn't all in good fun. They were just jumping on the "trash MJ bandwagon", being two-faced, and that's not cool. Of course Michael loved The Simpsons, but I would think that him and his family would be hurt by what's being said here. That should be easy enough for you to understand.

I bet when asked about him now, they'd kiss Michael's feet and idolise him. Because that's how he was treated - ridiculed when alive and then when he finally breaks, he becomes a hero again. Watching this made me feel kind of uncomfortable knowing that these people have made the voices that shaped part of my childhood. :/

I love how when they recorded it, it was sooo cool to have Michael Jackson on the show, but NOW its all "ooh he was so weird hahahaha" that is too bad that he didn't get into a conversation with them. he must have been painfully shy. :(

oh you small people. i love the simpsons and i grew up with them, but for you all to make fun of him is so very uncalled for. he will live as the greatest and all of you wont out live the characters that you play.

Actually, a lot of voice actors are incredibly nice, like James Arnold Taylor. I've never heard him say a negative thing about anyone. They just happen to be d-bags.

Years later and I am still frustrated and saddened by this display. They were essentially dogging Michael out for being shy and exhibiting common traits of social anxiety disorder. Classy as fuck, guys. Michael's anxiety was very crippling and it culminated in his death. MJ did NOTHING to these people to warrant this treatment, but at least Dan had his back. He was really understanding in his one-on-one interview.

They are so rude and disrespectful. I have no respect for them. They were lucky that he agreed to it! And this is the thanks he gets? They wish to be as great as him. Taking jabs from left to right. Cannot. Stand it. And they wonder why he didn't speak to them! Who would want to? Sleep easy Mj

As much as I love the simpsons, these guys worked with a great performer and little did they know when he died, they played the episode and I bet millions around the world would watch that one Michael Jackson episode because...its Michael Jackson, and to be making fun of him like that, they must be kicking themselves... Michael was extremely shy in such situaions. I remember an interview, where people could ask Michael questions and someone asked Mike, whether he ever gets uncomfortable getting on stage or something like that and he replayed, that he loves to be on stage and that that interview is waaaay more uncomfortable for him... So just because someone is a musician/entertainer many people automatically assume, that this person is also like that off stage, but Michael was shy off stage...

Dan Castellaneta was probably the only one who would give MJ any respect I love the simpsons and their cast. But i hated the way they were talking about MJ

When it aired originally, I never was sure if it was actually M.J. Voice or a an actor. Very cool to know. I can understand him not doing the singing.

My thoughts were not if what he said about Michael was right or wrong.. but as a representative of the Simpsons he should not have expressed his own opinion like that... about anyone for that matter. The Simpsons should be kept as the world's greatest cartoon show, light hearted and hilarious for everyone to enjoy no matter what they believe :)

I think the actors(voice actors) had more respect for MJ than the writers did. It's a shame that Yeardley was the ONLY one there.

This is just sad! People are not laughing and somebody goes like "Hey, lets throw a Michael Jackson joke in". And if somebody starts defending MJ, the person who ridiculed him explains how he owns all the Jackson 5 albums or something like that, which somehow makes it's OK to ridicule him. It's the same here. I started watching the Simpsons after seeing the MJ episode. These guys should be thankful to stars that are helping their show survive so many years, instead of speaking shit!

@hybridlio Michael was only shy around people that didn't know him. Why would people be horrified about a celebrity being shy? His whole family was on the shy side accept maybe his father. MJ loved cartoons and animation. The Simpsons wasn't his only love. He loved all of Walt Disneys works too. He was Captain EO for Disney for years.

6:28 If they knew anything about Michael, they would know it's not uncommon for him to play jokes like that on his brothers. Michael would always wear disguises and change his voice on the phone to prank his family. He was a big pratical jokester. So yes, I have no doubt in my mind he made the other guy sing the part as a joke. His sense of humor was delightful compared to this cheap humor they are doing onstage.

Dude, my response was to something specific that person said which made no sense. I can't remember now, but it was poo brain. I acknowledge that Michael was different, even weird, and I'm proud of that fact because it's what made him special. But to label him as "crazy" without digging deeper is shallow, dismissive and disrespectful on multiple levels. For instance, people were constantly saying MJ was crazy fro covering his children with masks, when it's obvious that was for protection.

Some jokes are fine, but when he says that a mental patient who was overweight is like Michael Jackson and the only difference is the weight. He is practically calling Michael crazy...That's straight up an insult...

Yeah... which is interesting, because if you listen the commentary on that episode, on dvd... those same people (with dan castellenta in replacement of harry & yeardly) pretty much speak in high regard of MJ. They kind of gush about how it was a cool experience, and that he was, in fact a nice guy the entire time.
