Every haunted house needs cobwebs, but how do you get them without unleashing a bunch of spiders? In this video I'll show you how to make a cobweb shooter using a 3M Polygun LT industrial hot glue gun and a few parts found at my local hardware store. This shooter will make cobwebs that even spiders will think are real.

Awesome! I need to make this. Really great effect!

That seems a heckuva lot easier setup than the ones I've seen using copper tubing. I tried that one time before and only got middling results, so I may have to give this design a go. Also, "twenty thousand & eleven?" That's far, far into the future, no? :)

Holy crap. Good catch on that GhoulishCop. Sometimes I wonder if my head is screwed on at all.

I did one of these with copper tube last year. I had to crimp the end of the copper tube a little to get a good jet of air that would reliably make web. I think a smaller jet of air makes the web better. With that fitting you already have a good jet without crimping.

That's great. As Ghoulish Cop and many others have probably done, I've tried the copper tube version and couldn't get the right flow going. Never thought of using a plastic tube. Would make it so much easier to adjust. Thanks for the video!!

I can't take credit for it, unfortunately. Jay from Rotten Apple 907 is Burbank, CA is part of our haunt group and he was the one who figured it out.

Sweet web gun. I was going to try this but I got a webcaster gun at a yard sale brand new. Great job on yours.

Not great. I wouldn't do it on anything you don't want webbing on for the rest of your life.

I've seen these for a while now but, what happens after? How do you clean all that glue up?
@VanOaksProps
@VanOaksProps 10 лет назад
In most cases, the glue's tackiness isn't permanent. So you can just pull it all down by hand.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I don't feel like looking through the comments, haha.. Does the 1/4" Female Quick Release Plug attach to the thick black hose from the air compressor? Not sure (Never done anything with an air compressor).

Yes. Exactly.

That works great! I have one of the store bought ones but I dont think my little 3 gallon compressor is up to the job so I had crappy results. What where you using for a compressor?
@VanOaksProps
@VanOaksProps 10 лет назад
It's a Porter Cable pancake compressor. I think it's also a 3 gal. unit. My thinking is that it's a combination of the industrial gun and the low temp glue that it uses. The webbing feels like the cotton once it's cooled. It's really different than any of the other glue sticks that I've used. Additionally, the glue sticks feel more rubbery/squishy and don't have the firm outer texture that the glue sticks you can get at a craft store.

I think you are right the glue looks pretty runny when it comes out the end of your glue gun! What kind of info do you have on the low temp glue sticks you are using? I have some low temp ones I use for crafting but they dont feel much different than the high temp ones I have as well

These are made by 3M to work with this glue gun. Other than that, they are listed as "3M Jet-Melt 3798 LM Low Melt TC 5/8" x 2" Removable Gummy Glue Sticks"
