If you have been hearing that the Behringer JT-4000 does not work in a dawless situation - but guess what!! You can use it without a DAW. I might even have a second video showing even MORE later but right now check out the video for an opening video, a device overview, and then I will show you what I found out about using this device WITHOUT A DAW. By the way the music created in the beginning of the video was mostly created using the Behringer JT-4000 (other than drums is was all generated with the JT-4000) but just for your knowledge - I did bring the audio into my AKAI MPC KEY 61 to use the effects. If you want more information on that - let me know!! I am making a sample pack with the JT-4000 so don't forget to like and subscribe if you want access to the sample library.
Don't forget to support the channel with Like Subs and if you want to make a monetary donation - don't hold back. I am trying to get money to give away some synths - and the JT-4000 feels like a good place to start!!
If you want to support the channel you can subscribe, like, and buy me a coffee at: ko-fi.com/cap10nrgmusic

Absolutely man! If you have any questions hit me up you can definitely ask anything about it if you want. I’m pretty familiar with the device overall. I’m actually thinking of modifying mine. I’m not sure yet. I haven’t actually got to that point in time yet, but I was thinking of changing it up so that it had quarter inch jacks on it instead of the headphone jacks And also looking for another way to hook up midi ports to it. Not really via cost-effective or really feasible project… I mean for 50 bucks you can buy the host device I’ve been using and it’s simple to use. But the audio out I really want to not be using the converters to go from the headphone jack to stereo cable… Don’t really need it but my brain just wants it lol

I just bought one of these, it sounds much better than it should, but I'd pay 2-3 times more if it had MIDI in (even TRS!) and a small built-in battery with a 5hr+ battery life would've been ideal!

And I would prefer a quarter inch jacks instead of the small headphone jack as well lol. But it doesn’t look like Behren is changing their way on this design. They just have a new one coming out called the UB micro. I think it’s a a micro of the Oberheim! Already got one on pre-order hasn’t even been officially announced in the store yet, but I have a guy working on it when it gets there. I’ll have one held price 50 bucks.

You’re the first I’ve run accross that mentioned using the device in a useful way! Behringer own videos teacher nothing so I’m waiting on mine to be delivered and I’ll use the Behringer X touch to see what I can really do with this puppy. I know how to program so I’m really looking forward to discovering its inner self! lol, I will euro-rack it, stack it, chord it, scale it, name it it should be here tomorrow! I will video and RU-vid it! I have a solder set up and will try everything, even writing digital VCOs and using Misha, NDLR, I’ll garuntee there is way more than meets the eye!

1 midi in, I agree. I would like it a lot more if it cost twice as much but had the same connectivity as the Pro VS Mini or a Volca. It has very cool sounds but it so tiny it is hard to use, not just the tiny keyboard but the tiny knobs and the tiny screen is hard to see. I put off buying it for a long time for these faults but they are so cheap I finally gave in.

Houston We have Liftoff. After all the comments and your incredible patience trying to help me figure reason my JT-4000 wouldn’t connect to my midi controller I called tech support at seller’s location. He felt the problem lay at the DoreMidi host box but honestly wasn’t sure why as I made all the hookups correctly with power off and then turning keyboard and 4000 on. He asked me if I tried every order I could hooking things up and the one thing I hadn’t tried was once everything was hooked up and turned on I unplugged power to host box and replugged it in with all units left in on position. Success. Go figure the crazy idiosyncrasies of these devices. Again I greatly appreciate your time and patience and your video which gave me the tools to find a way to go dawless albeit it took some trial and error on my part. Hopes this helps others experiencing same difficulty.

Also, keep in mind, one other thing, I suppose… If you’re using a DAW, this will work perfectly. You don’t need to use a DAW for all of its functions. I have actually used QBase and reason both at different times, as sort of a connecting hub for other devices. Basically, just using them as a way to get other devices to talk to each other instead of actually using them as sequencers or music creation tools. It’s also pretty handy if you have a multi in and out sound card where you can stack up effects and run your synthesizes through them, , combining hardware and software

I would absolutely love to see this work here for me. I purchased a splitter just like that and connected a battery bank and midi controller. Unfortunately it cannot power this thing, so I need to use some USB C hub - connect it to the power bank, then connect OPZ to it and JT micro to another port. Somehow miraculously it works. @Cap10NRGMusic
@Cap10NRGMusic 5 месяцев назад
Yes, super dope right! Essentially you could hook it up to any control keyboard using that device and drive it from there of course the control keyboard would need power as well, but yes. So if you would get yourself safe, for example, AKAI MPK 249 which I actually have one of - you could theoretically, actually you could absolutely do this, but I’m saying theoretically, just cause you know, you might not want to do this… But you could technically map the faders and knobs to many of the controls on board the JT 4000 and have almost complete live control over it while you were playing a gig. and if you want to see that definitely subscribe I will do it for you and show you how but yeah or if you have an M audio control, keyboard, or whatever any of the control keyboards can work that way using that as a sound module. You can also do it with other small devices like the pro VS, or one of the small KORGS BUT PLEASE DO SUBSCRIBE TO THE CHANNEL I WOULD APPRECIATE IT

And aside from practical reasons it’s just fun.
