I replaced my Focusrite audio interface, because i had driver problems. Bought a Behringer UMC1820. It works. It doesn't sound worse than the Focusrite. I replaced my Shure Beta51a kick drum mic with a Behringer BA19a, it sounds the same like the Shure Beta91a condenser. I think im gonna give a chance to this SD251... Behringer does not suck! They produce way better gear than 10 years ago.

Since they released the X32, it’s not the same company. It’s not always the most road ready stuff, but for some people it’s more then fine, as long as you take care of it.

Hla excelente video comparativo , yo note que behringer tiene un poquito mas de información en la frecuencia media y aguda que el Shure

Fan des 846 aussi! J'aime bien les nouveaux filtres rouges pour le extended treble!

Nice and fair comparison 🙂 - Thanks! Now, let's hope B creates a SE864 (SE846 clone) ...

Honestly, I thing the passive cross-over system inside iem is a hard thing to get right and affordable. They probably can but probably not at price point they shoud target for the B Lineup. I can’t wait to get proved wrong here if they can! Merci Patrick

Thanks for the comparison. Im a huge fan of sennheiser. I have HD250 and HD450BT for DAW and music/gaming, respectively. I typically dont like buds because of the build-up bacteria in your ear after over a half hour of use (i use a cpap, so im a little more prone to sinus infections than your average person). With that, i have realized that for drumming, IEM would probably be beneficial in spite of the fact that it may promote sinus issues for me. I was goinf back and forth between getting either the 215s or possibly IE40s. But it seems the 251s are fairly comparable to the 215s. I was wondering what your thoughts were of the 251s compared to IE 40s?

It sounds like some over the ear headphones may be a better option for you.

Thank you for the great review. Looking at the pink noise results it seems as if the Behringers have considerably less bass than the Shure 215s? I am looking for some really low profile IEMs for music listening underneath a helmet and the Shures (or a clone of them) seem like they might work. I don't mind a bit of a v-curve personally. Do you have any recommendations?

If you want to look at my KZ video, I have some interesting find there. Look on my channel for it. It’s been released recently

@@GuillaumeLortie Thank you. Which one of the KZs has the lowest physical profile? This is the main reason why I'm looking at Shure SE215 and similar IEMs like these Behringers or Mee Audio M6 Pro.

The way you should measure IEMs is using a 711 coupler ..and even then you should consider a resonance peak at about 8-10 khz related to this coupler. you also have to to think about IEM reference targets and personal preferences about it..but either way you should have a decent pinna gain about 3khz, depending on the listening volume. A cheap and tonally great IEM you can check(80$), is the Truthear HEXA, great extension on both ways, damn good balance on the mid, and pretty resolving. It's the first reasonally priced IEM i would consider sufficiently balanced, that i could trust to make a mix on it and have faith it will be translated to other audio systems. Having said that, the way you can tune an IEM is fairly limited. You can't eq them electronically(i mean inside the earpiece), nor you can lowpass the drivers, just hipass the mid and high drivers, and with resistors you can change the balance between the drivers. All the other tuning ways are acoustic, meaning that if you want to reduce let's say a 5k peak that the combo of drivers have, you are forced to do it acoustically with acoustic dampers inside the tubing-canal, or by changing the distance of the drivers to the output-spout, or by creating special (usually 3d printed) tubing that boost or cuts certaing frequencies. Some manufacturers are doing a pretty good job on delivering a pretty balanced representation iem, but the way they achieve that , is by reducing the peaks i described earlier, and exactly that method reduces the headroom of the earphone.sometimes by a lot. The headroom may be sufficient for casual music listening, or even mixing and recording, BUT in live situations you may hear distortion way earlier then you expected. HEXA is one of those iem's. i wish it had some more headroom. especially for some singers where they are used to crank the pack on extremely high levels, while they shouldn't. So you should check the behringer iem on high levels(for a short period of time so you don't destroy your ears) so you know that it can handle the leves of SE215 or 846. By the way, i never liked the shure line up(heard all of them except the KSE)

Salut et merci pour ces infos... Je vais en commander une paire. Que penses-tu de la version BT? Fred
@GuillaumeLortie
@GuillaumeLortie Год назад

Hello Gui, i know its a bit of stretch to ask, but i was wondering how one other affordable model compares against pro se846, and tha affordable model is Stagg spm435 ( 4 drivers iem). That is of course soundwise, a built quality i know already is kaka. These graphs you caputred during this test say a lot, when doing a actual comparison on a music track. Honestly speaking i would love that other reviewers did the same kind of test you did here.

@@GuillaumeLortie got the kz zs10 pro. Had to swap the original cable to the one I have from the Staggs spm435 as the original had the highs so pronounced that I couldn't stand it. Cable swap did magic, cause now they shine in all registers, and they outshined the Staggs. Do you by any chance know any good quality iem cables with 2pin connectors :) ? And of course thank and advice on the KZs.

Hi, nice video man. I "lost" my se215 (they died from natural causes one year ago :) ) and bought a couple of Behringers... and yes, the curve between the 215 and the 251 are almost the same. I think the se215 sounds a little better (small amount, very very small), but for the price, way better the behringer. But, i have to say, after a year the cable of the sd 251 had turn brown and it drips something strange from the cable where the wire for forming is (the up side, near the in ear). Im very clean :D, but i dont know what that is. The mmcx conectors are not the same quality as of in the shure, after a year i got to press the round center part of conector in the in-ear side with tweezers, because they where not doing good contact, but after that, they are running strong. BTW, i used it in very extreme conditions (club, partys, sleeping :) , etc). The cable is extremely resistant (i have moved my 5kg mixer with the cable and nothing breaked). I have set a foot on one and had to glue it :D. Still runs...and runs and runs and runs. I like these format, small. Now i forgot if they are the same Phisically as the shure, because i wanna do a custom sleeve for the behringers and the shop has only the 215 molds (maybe they fit :D ???). Well at first sight they are the same, but i dont have any shures left to take measurements :).
@GuillaumeLortie
@GuillaumeLortie Год назад
hi 👋 Personally, I don’t recommend custom molding, you need to replace them after 1 or 2 years anyway. Better off with Shure Yellow buds.

Which one would you go between the Behringer SD251 and the KZ ZS10 PRO X?
@GuillaumeLortie
@GuillaumeLortie 9 месяцев назад
My personal experience with the KZ was one of the worst ever, based on that, SD251 for sure. Now what that said, some of my friend Favor the KZ 8 drivers ( don’t remember the name ) over my SE-846. Its a strange case of Mix and match, the way the engineer mix and reference vs the color that you want will also affect the finish results.
