This video was a lifesaver! The Behringer website doesn't list the actual UMC22 driver anymore, and instead just directs you to Asio4All, which my Windows 10 wouldn't recognize. After beating my head against the wall for a while, I found your video which had a link to the correct driver. Thank you very much!
Just chiming in to say this DOES still work flawlessly on Windows 11. I was concerned since this video was 5 years old and Windows 11 only came out a few years ago that it might not be compatible, but it works perfectly. Thanks!
To answer your question, I plan on recording music with my interface. Above all though, thank you for your tutorials, R.Z.! They are very helpful, subscribed.
I want to Thank you from the bottom of my heart i have been pulling my hair out over this i have looked at over 20 videos trying to fix the problem and you had the right driver thank you thank you
Wow, we just bought our UMC22, our sound quality just increased :D we are reworking our old songs with it :) Thanks for this vid, I checked a lot of them to be able to decide which is on a budget but still cool :)
Radio Zane, Behringer should send you a big fat check my friend, for helping all of us get this thing installed and working. Behringer is as close to useless as you can find for a company. You rock!!!
Man, i love you! Thanks a lot for the driver. Why firms that actually make the devices won't give people proper drivers is beyond me entirely. All they have at the moment on the product page is ASIO.
Just purchased as an update from my rca output UCA222. Been a great little device for itself but limited to only one track per take. So I’m looking forward to exploring this and saving a few moments in record time. A lot of good reviews on this and videos such as this one that have been brilliant for insight and guidance
I was not able to get my UMC22 to work properly using the Behringer recommended ASIO4ALL drivers. I installed the drivers you supplied with this video (that aren't on the Behringer website anymore?) and it works like a charm. Thanks for making this video!
Halo everyone! I bought this audio interface about a week ago and although the sound is great considering the price point , i have a major problem with the overall audio . So what I did immediately when i bought it was installing the drivers you gave in the description. I plugged my speakers into the headphone input of the interface and I lost the rest of the computer audio. The interface works great but only in my DAW (both reaper and cakewalk) So, is there a way to connect those drivers in the whole of the computer audio? Or am I forced to use two pairs of speakers. Please help!!
When I installed this driver the device stopped working completely. With the default win 10 driver and the asio driver linked on the behringer site the mic didn't work. Bad experience overall and will be returning this device.
I fricking love you. I've had this product for a year now and i've always had a hiss noise and my mic was always named "Usb Audio Codec" then i wiped my computer off for different reasons and i realized i never downloaded the drivers. Now the hiss sound is gone and my mic is 1000% better. thanks
@@Yazed Do you have the gain knob for your mic turned all the way up or fairly close? That can cause some strange noises. Is the hissing there when you're just playing back music? or is it only on what you are recording?
Simple Green Tech , it a white noise , Even I turn my mic knob 30 % or 40 % the noise still there on the recording , and even without mic plugged in the noise still there too when I click on direct monitor ... I tired the driver that you provide then my interface keep turn on and off every few minutes I deleted the driver it worked fine again but the hissing still there
Hi SGT! Appreciate what you guys have done for all the Behringer UMC22 owners out there! You guys are awesome! It appears, however, that the links to the drivers aren't working anymore. Is there a way to fix that? Also, this may be a silly question, but how do you know which one to go with (32 bit or 64 bit)? Thanks! :)
It looks like the Music Tribe Website is down at the moment. This is Behringer’s site where the drivers are located hopefully they get their site back up soon. As for choosing the right driver. If you’re running a 64 bit operating system/computer get the 64 bit driver. If you’re using a 32 bit operating system/computer get the 32 bit driver.
it works for me in reaper but any time i try to use teamspeak or discord it cracks and says that it cannot find my device however it is setup in the program.
I couldn't fix it. I installed realtek back, so i use the fron jack panel for talking on discors and teamspeak and i use my behringer as the output. It records fine, but there are still cracks and clicks randomly appearing
@@leon3230 i think its not the usb ports, rather the fact that the driver in descriotion is 11yrs old. Check the properties, you'll see it's saying 2009
@@AudioTechTV , It works great. Now I'm selling my over complicated board that I could never get adjusted right, and the money I get from it should be a wash. Thanks for providing this video!
First of all, my mic sounds WAY cleaner, less noise, and easier to notice in windows (instead of the previous name now it says BEHRINGER) Love your vids man, thanks
Thank you for watching. In this video we install the Behringer USB driver for the Behringer UMC22 USB Audio Interface. Let me know if you have any questions about this USB Audio interface and I will try to answer them for you.
AnotherOtherMan thank you for checking out the video. You need to record to mono tracks not stereo. You can still have a stereo mic but the tracks that you are recording to must be mono.
If you installed the driver you should be able to select “in 1” or “in 2” in your software if you’re software is set to use the ASIO driver. I have recorded the 2 separate inputs without any issues in a few DAWs. What software are you using?
I have also the driver ASIO, but now that I have also this one the Behringer UMC22 doesn’t make any sound, should I keep only the new driver and delete ASIO ?
Thanks soo much for your UMC22 videos! I would have been lost without them. I want to use this device and Waveform 8 to mix down digital wav files to my new(old) Hara M-180 Vinyl Lathe cutter. I'll need to figure out how to apply a proper RIAA curve to the files and also convert to mono. Newbie so thanks again!
No clue why they don't have the Behringer USB Audio driver on their website anymore, it works better than literally any other software. I used to do decently with FL ASIO (despite the delay), but recently for some reason it introduces a slight crackle into my mic. But after finally starting to use Behringer's software, it not only has virtually no delay, but the audio from my mic doesn't have any crackle anymore. Even when I record something using that driver and switch back to FL ASIO, that recording still sounds better than one I recorded in FL ASIO for some reason. At first i thought my mic was messed up, but there must be something going on with window's handling of my mic thats introducing the crackle.
I was wondering why the sound didn't sound right when I recorded with audacity in a whole day but then I saw this video and figured out that I should be on mono instead of stero, thx so much
After installing the alternative drivers instead of ASIO4ALL, I now get the UMC22 to work. Made some fail testing in Windows which made it better but something is not right. I had some problems with sound and direct monitor but got it to work. I got a mono-sound and switched to another type of headphone connector, now the sound is good and direct monitor is working.
Man, Thank you very much for video. Asio driver does not allow me to open You Tube or internal media player with any DAW or video edıtor at the same time. You can not imagine how I tried to solve this issue. And now all solved with this driver. I can open everything at the same time.
Hey thank you so much for posting this video. I was getting nowhere with ASIO4All. Downloaded and installed it at least ten times and no dice. Bu the link in your notes worked like a charm fist install. Thanks again. 🙂
Fantastic thank you. I was getting a lot of noise before but totally gone after installing this driver. Why is this not available officially on their site? Is this a driver you have developed yourself? I will / have been using it to record videos on my own channel 🙌
@@AudioTechTV HEllo Sir i have a problem, I use my mic to do live streaming sessions on facebook, so i dont use any software. I want to record just my voice so i need "1 channel" input. But in the recording settings i dont get that option. I end up having to choose "2 channel" which only makes my vpice go to left earphone of viewwers. Is there any other driver that i have to use? Please help
one thing to note is that the driver will only work on the usb port that it is pugged into when installed and no other audio driver will work on that port. says so in the readme file on the driver installation
Greetings from Snowy Canada. Glad you enjoyed the driver and it worked out for you. It really makes this interface usable. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
great video and very helpful. im going to use the umc 22 for recording guitar direct into it and also mic-ing up my guitar cab n am using cakewalk as my DAW
Great review! I have a question I'm a guitar player who uses Amp modeling software. Which would produce a "better" sound. better low end? Thank you for posting this.
thanks! it works better than the ASIO4all driver but unfortunately even at 16bit/44100hz, the interface produces some random crackliing and popping sounds every now and then. :(
I just bought a UMC22 to create my first guitar videos for RU-vid. Now I just have to figure out how to link it to my camera for videos. I’m a total NOOB! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks folks! You rock!
You can record the guitar separate from your video camera audio and then put it together in editing. It would help if you also have a mic that you’re recording into your computer too that way you. Can clap and easily sync the audio when editing. Or if your camera has a mic input you can connect a mixer or even run a line out cable from the umc22 headphone jack to the mic input. You’ll need to turn the gain all the way down on your camera and maybe just put it up to just one tick. Because a line input will be much hotter then a mic input. You’ll need a trs cable to do this. You can get one with two male 3.5mm trs ends and then get a 1/4” adapter for the end that plugs into the interface.
This driver does NOT play nice with Voicemeeter. It constantly causes hitches in the audio when routed through using hte input and output and one if the changes i made caused a blue screen.
I downloaded this driver, put 256 samples, shows a delay of 6 ms. If you just click on different sounds in fl studio, then everything is fine, but if you open any project, then everything starts to crack and the sound just disappears. Or just if you sort through the presets in the serum, then somewhere on the third preset the sound disappears. Please help me understand
This was the original driver for it but for some reason they replaced it with Asio4all. If you email them and ask for the original Asio driver they will send it to you.
A bit late to the video but I recently bought the Behringer UMC22 to play around with my guitar. Whenever I do use it there is a loud crackling sound and the sound of the guitar is heavily distorted and it sounds extremely bitcrushed. I tried looking all over google and I can't seem to find a solution. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi, after installing these drivers the my mic got much quieter (i am using a cloudlifter now with the Interface set to a higher gain than i had it without the driver AND without a cloudlifter), do you have any ideas what could've caused it or maybe even solutions
Didn't work for me unfortunately, gave me a strange issue which caused my PC to have no audio after initialising the ASIO driver via my DAW, could not get it back. Crappy ASIO4All it is unfortunately for me, but thanks for the vid, was worth a shot.
