@@Iwatchstuff1000 She was a minor then. Cameraman knew what they were doing. They never show other figure skaters when the announcements for gold were made. They want to make profit with this girl's breakdown.
@@kikilogan7500 She was almost 18. This "minor" excuse is not an excuse, perhaps these "minors" should stay in juniors until they can cope with a senior, adult environment.
Imagine having a stress breakdown, being hugely disappointed, hungry as hell (Eteri didn’t let them eat or drink on competition days), and just in all being overwhelmed as hell not to mention scared of your coach and some random lady tries speaking to you in a different language, Alexandra did very well with that because I probably would've punched that lady 😂
So much wanted from her. But another skater given more support. .support should equal. To all team members....!!! Not focused on one.....Best wishes to Sasha.
They should have let her do her free in the Teams. She would have gotten gold, and so would the rest of the Russian team after Camilla's qualification. Honestly, I never understood why they chose Camilla for both short and free program. They were far ahead. They didnt need Valieva for this. They could have maximized winners and pleased more girls... This could have been avoided
Exactly. I get so many Russians saying the restore is unfair, but has they even had one of them skate with Valieca, they stayed Gold. There was no rule in this team event that one athlete disqualifies the whole team in the team event even though it should’ve been there
They would've still lost by 1 point even if Sasha did the free (ROC originally had 74 shorts and the US had 65, so taking away Kamila's 10 points would mean the ROC is left with 64). The Russian team made a huge mistake by putting Kamila in the team event for both sections, it takes a lot of energy from the athlete, and considering she was the heavy favorite to win, why didn't they conserve her energy for singles? They only used 6 people when the other teams used 9, this would've conserved the energy especially for singles skaters. They could've let Anya do the short, and Sasha the free. That way (assuming the doping never happened), all 3 girls would leave as Olympic champions. Isn't that the point for all nations? To come home with as many Olympic champions as possible?
@@mht4908 Indeed. Not for russia apparently. Now the doped athlete is singing the national anthem right next to the president, as if she won. The real champions dont get this recognition (and thank god for that, considering who that president is).
They told Sasha before the olympics if she landed 5 quads, she would’ve been awarded gold. She promised 5 quads and delivered 5 quads on ice,but got silver.
@@paulkellerman2603it was something she was working for her entire life, not to mention the abuse she faced from her coaches. They promised her she would win if she landed 5 quads, a feat probably never done in women’s figure skating before this. She had a fantastic performance and then felt the heart wrenching disappointment from being beat by her also amazing teammate. She most likely felt betrayed even though it was neither of the girl’s faults, they both did amazing. There are speculations that both of them had connections to the olympic judges where it would be rigged to score them higher. Honestly that’s probably true considering we’re dealing with Russia. Anna came out on top though and couldn’t even enjoy her victory as everyone forgot about her surrounding all of the drama. It was a traumatic situation for the both of them and it was not their faults
For the people whod id not follow this closely - the Russian team had the same head coach to all skaters, i.e., the same woman who asked Valieva why she stopped trying while the latter was crying immediately after her FP blunder. Anyway, in the team's competition, they did not swap Valieva for Trusova, so Valieva initially got a gold medal. If they had 2 different skaters in the FP and SP, both of them would have won gold medals. In the end. only Anna got one, because Russia got DQ cuz of Valieva's drug test. Hope this helps!
Sorry I had switched the comments off. I love Sasha and I just wanted to say how much I feel for her. My respect to Anna, but Sasha is an Olympic champ in my heart. I honestly can’t believe she’s thinking about retirement so young and I feel like all these seasons watching her fly by so quickly. I hope and pray to see her again in 2026. P.S, there’s also the second part translated.
You are right to put comments OFF. So OFF I'm going to tell you that she goes, today at the beginning of 2024, to Ukraine as a soldier: she will know why she is crying
@@user-qc2if9hu6yI understand where you’re coming from and I must say that in no way do I support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I’m terribly sorry for the Ukrainian people. I haven’t seen Sasha wear a Z letter, like some of her teammates and also Anna has denied Putin’s invitations, so I think they are not to blame.
@@user-qc2if9hu6yBeing Russian is not a political orientation, it's a nationality. This poor girl has dedicated her life and body to a sport and you're holding against her that she was born 400 km north of a border. Go march yourself if you feel so passionately about it!
I'm just sorry for her. Anna deserved that gold, and I would award all 3 russian girls gold if I could :') Because they were ALL so so good! The strongest team in a long while. I know it hurts to play second fiddle for so long, esp when you work so hard. She created history with 5 quads, but unfortunately lacked somewhere else. Her mentor did not provide her with the creative training to channel her passion and determination onto the ice. She encouraged her fixation on quads because she was the best at it. This is our problem as society. We don't teach kids how to accept failures. We make them fear it, pressure them to think that their life is over if they don't win. But Silver at freaking Olympics is GOOD! Cheer up, Trusova. You did your best :)
What do you mean accept??? She did world record and lost!!!! Even adults will have breakdown. She was training for years!!! Just imagine how much she was trained
@@lalisa887 Ok? Anna was trained too, everyone was for their whole life. Just because you break a record doesnt mean you deserve gold, especially if you fell down and had wobbly landings, horrible technique and no artistry. Figure skating is a sport of artistry not jumps.
she knew that anna would win (i mean, anna was more stable in her skating her entire career). the coaches relied on kamila to win the team event for ROC and on anna to win the individual event for ROC.
Dude these are literal children with the whole world watching them plus their coaches being abusive and drugging them their fricken traumatized not a personality disorder
The next Winter Olympics are going to be in 2026. The ladies that performed in Bejing 2022 all have pretty much let us know they’re done with their professional careers. And there’s already a new standard raised by Russia. A young girl there just jumped 4T+4S.

to a healthy child who has grown up in a stable environment sure, but not to a child who has spent years in a toxic environment under abusive coaches. these girls have undergone so much psychological damage and trauma, let her react in however she is able to react
@@aretihuwiler1410 Sports world is crazy I say. But still she should know that winning isn't the most important thing. Well, to athletics it is but doesn't happen every time.
@@ArtemisPeacei understand what youre saying, but that’s not what those girls were all raised to believe. they have been told their entire lives that second place is failure and that you are worth nothing unless you win. what do you think this does to a child?
@@aretihuwiler1410 letting her react how she is able to just starts the cycle of abuse. those coaches were reacting how they wanted to react and probably have their own trauma too. the buck has to stop somwhere
@@deusexmachina9776 youre right they probably do have their own trauma and are obviously far from aware of this, but i think people are seriously forgetting that trusova was a child during this time, and that it takes so so much time and courage and self-awareness to undo trauma patterns, and if someone isnt ready (like maybe because theyre a child), theyre not ready yet. why is that then an invitation for people to hound them on their immaturity? and, once again, you cannot mature and grow in the same environment that is hurting you. im not condoning her behaviour, im saying that with basic human empathy you can understand why she behaved like she did.
Probably everything that can happen... She stood under immense pressure the whole competition with only 17, with everything suround her slowly going downwards (the Valieva doping story and her not being chosen for the team event) and of course having her greatest dream at the tip of her finger, the gold medal and than have it slip through her fingers. On top the training methods of her trainers which left her physically and mentally exhausted (she and the other girls were probably starving) plus the pressure which build over the years released in one moment of despair. And the camera, once again, stands for it, declaring a "tragedy" for three young girls as a "drama."

Of course a Russian responds this way 🙄Like the other person who replied, she was pushed to extremities that she never should have faced, it's understandable that she behaved this way. She was only a child and was pushed to the limit physically and mentally for what? So she could bring honor to her country? She's just a girl. I'm surprised she didn't have this breakdown earlier.
У ребенка просто нервный срыв из-за нечеловеческих нагрузок. Расстроится из-за серебряной вполне медали нормально, если ты посвятил свою жизнь спорту. Это только говорит о том, что у нее были амбиции и цели.
