Anyone who has to advertise their "belief" system on their car or on their person - even by wearing a cross, etc - in my opinion, is "reaching" and simply advertising their superficiality, not any depth at all. But that's just me. I was raised Roman Catholic in northern NM by a devout Catholic mother and a father whose native American ancestors were invaded by Roman catholic conquistadores and who eventually further down the line escaped the Pueblo Revolt, so there was quite a bit of tension between my parents in my raising. Eventually, I was "the one" who was responsible for taking my mom to church every Sunday while my dad stayed home and read the Sunday newspaper, the "funnies", and then tended to his huge vegetable garden where he always said he felt closest to God. I admired both my parents for devotion in their own ways. From both of them I received different lessons. From my own stumbles and life experiences I have reached my own idea of God that serves me well. My main lesson has always been "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It's a very simple way of life. If you don't hurt anyone, you won't hurt your own soul. AA helped at one point too. I raised my boys with the most basic premise. No need to muck things up. Life is already hard enough... especially since they partake in social media. 😬🙂

He said those things belong to the government. And if you want the government to be your master, then you will value politics and the hate and vitriol that comes along with it. If you value God, you're going to transcend politics, realizing that it's nothing more than people arguing over who their new master is going to be. We are all equals. There is no one who is supposed to be our leader. We're supposed to be able to live in peace and harmony amongst one another, making politics unnecessary. Unfortunately, we have not evolved far enough as a species to be able to understand the true sentiment of love your neighbor as you love yourself.

As a Christian myself, I hang my head in shame when I see things like that. Christianity is not a violent religion. Jesus did not preach violence, regardless of what his followers are doing now. This guy is still a powerless little child, who believes that he has the faith all figured out, and anyone who doesn't agree with him, and his ever-changing opinions, are absolutely wrong. And they're the ones who will be vanquished by an angel with a sword. Because he knows Jesus. He will tell you that over and over and over again. But if you ask him to quote Jesus, he wouldn't be able to do it. They think if they put on that Christian appearance, that will work for them. But they haven't read the book. They have not listened to him. He told them to pick up their cross, not spend $4,000 having a blasphemous travesty of modern art airbrushed onto your even more expensive classic car, that you've wasted all that time and effort restoring. He could have been volunteering at a soup kitchen. Just saying.

It is an anglicized version of the Latin name for God. It's a telltale sign that the individual using it has never read their Bible. Excellent observations. I completely agree with you. He's one of those guys, who believes Jesus is a warrior, and that he's going to come and vanquish his enemies. That's not what Jesus says at all. He says when he comes back, he's going to establish his kingdom, according to God's rules. And I don't see any of God's rules allowing us to hurt one another. Jesus doesn't have to hurt people. They either choose to follow him or they don't. There's no force or coercion. Because of Jesus came with a sword, forcing people to follow him, would they love him? Would they love the one who sent him to do that? Of course not. That's not the way God treats us now, why would he treat us so harshly in the future? Because Revelation is a prophecy. Actually, it's the drug laced in hallucinations of a man who was preaching a false gospel, so he was exiled from the church to this small island where he lived out the rest of his years. I don't even know why that garbage is included in our Bible.

Even if you do that, when you have a customer like this guy, who keeps on coming by every single day essentially to direct the artist and make little changes here and there constantly, this guy sounds like he wasn't going to ever be satisfied. I understand the gold foil peeling off, but isn't it just interesting how the foil peeled and the guy's not happy with the painting? He can't peel the painting off, but if he scratches off the gold foil, he'll get his money back for that not sticking. This guy was looking for free work on his car. And what a shame too, because that was not an easy picture to airbrush on the hood of a classic car. That artist is incredibly talented, and that guy should be grateful that he did what he did for that little bit of money.
