@@dystrophic Nah fuck that "tbf" shit lol. Edit: I originally said this, but it's false. "it's on switch. He's literally holding the red controller. That's why he's red! lol"
Yep, we finally have Dan and Arin back together again! So perhaps once Danganronpa is finished we can finally get to the games Dan mentioned he wanted to do or finish on the Galaxy 2 playthrough. Like Paper Mario: Origami King for example.
So, two things. 1) For the bus minigame, Red says 'This *isn't* my stop,' but Blue, mishearing what Red said, says 'Mine too,' meaning it *is* his stop. So, to win that minigame, Red must stay seated while Blue gets off the bus. 2) Never. *EVER.* Interrupt Ranger roll calls.
@@SuperCatfire Red clearly says "This isn't my stop." Why would Red get off on the wrong stop? Moreover, why is your reasoning that they need to make more room? There's 3 other passengers already getting off, and Blue also has to get off, making the need for more room unnecessary.
Is "sunscreen friends" maybe a weird translation of "fair weather friends" or something? As in, friends that only stick around when things are good for you?
he's fine with being considered one, but at the same time, it ruined his expectations for random bullets and also there's so much more to him than being a "furry."
non-sexualized basic af Cat with no expression: does awkward 1 sec hip swing loop while emerging from a strawberry Dan: that dance was too sexy! ... too sexy... me: people and cats in fruit because..? am too American to understand this reference or just "lul random humor" ?
I think he's said before, it's more about people's reactions to it. People don't say "Oh, Dan's a furry. That's cool." People say "DAN'S A FURRY HOLY SHRP"
Regarding the superhero one: Dan’s screaming for help was inconsiderate, since it kept interrupting the three ranger’s catchphrase sequence. Arin was supposed to yell “Here I come!” without getting closer: it’s a tokusatsu stage show.
For context, “Little One-Inch,” or 一寸法師/Issun-bōshi, is a Japanese folktale hero similar to Tom Thumb. He was a tiny warrior who saved the daughter of a rich family from an ogre. When he defeated said ogre, it dropped a magical mallet that had the power to grow Issun-bōshi to the size of a normal human, so he did so, then married the woman he saved and lived happily ever after. The thing with the demon/ogre, house, and human is a representation of the holiday Setsubun, where you throw dried beans at “ogres” (usually the man of the household with a mask on) to drive bad luck from the home.
It's funny, because if there's one aspect of Japanese pop culture that's saturated kids' TV programming for something like a quarter-century at this point, it's the "transformation" scene: a villain standing stock still off to the side so the Power Rangers can shout out their totems, Sailor Moon can give her speech about the name of the moon and any associated punishing, etc.
@@lylatfox4 The way they respond to each other immediately/quickly suggests that there isn't a delay (not over Discord), so it's possible that this was recorded in person. Also considering how the Joy-Cons had to be confirmed; that isn't done online, nor does this game have online play (I think?).
The one with the zombie in the elevator- if you read the posters, there’s a haunted house or something on the 3rd floor and the guy is an actor in it or something!
I believe the correct move is to leave with everyone else. The title of this game 空気を読め literally translates to read the atmosphere. They needed to read the atmosphere and leave because everyone else is. Theres a lot of problems where you'd have no idea what to do if you didn't understand Japanese culture.
the idea is efficiency. no one wants to sit next to another person if they don't have to. by separating further after the others get off, they create one additional space that isn't directly adjacent to someone. it's like urinals.
@@ptjhnsn Some Grumps fans call themselves the lovelies because that is a moniker that Dan & Arin use to refer to us on occasion. I prefer "Chaotic funny boy enjoyer" myself, but it's a bit of a mouthful.
Fun Fact: New era IS called Reiwa! The former emperor (Akihito) voluntarily abdicated, and Japan tracks years and events by eras designated by the reigns of their emperors! Akihito's reign was known as Heisei (so, instead of saying the turn of the century was 2000, I'd also say Heisei 11, as 2000 was the eleventh year of the era.) When he abdicated, the next emperor Naruhito stepped up, and later it was announced that his reign would be known as Reiwa (beginning May 1st, 2019) I got excited when they put that in the game, had to share because OOH I KNOW SOMETHING.
@@skeetsmcgrew3282 It has to do with that, I think. It was nearly abolished in the forties after the end of WW2, but was set into law in the late seventies to appease conservatives, probably because of a more complex political reason that I don't know, but tradition plays a part. They still record in regular dates and years, so for tradition and culture I think it's pretty neat.
I think you're just not supposed to move at all. The talking seems auto, I think you're supposed to stay still and let the focus be the heroes. It does say sometimes the considerate thing is to do nothing.
I think as the hostage you're also supposed to keep quiet until after the heroes are done introducing themselves, because the hostage's word bubbles actually block out the heroes'.
14:02 I love this moment. Just Consider It actually happening: some kind of uber rare comet that will quickly tangent or any other kind of celestial happening in the Earth once in a millennium... And Dan comes in the sky with his weird balloon from House Party obscuring the view, and then constantly apologizing to everyone below

I REWATCHED THE 1ST ONE LIKE 15 TIMES CAUSE I THOUGHT THERE WOULDN'T BE ANOTHER, THANK YOU! 💕
My partner had to turn off the movie part way through because he was bawling so hard and "didn't wanna watch children die" I felt so guilty for making him watch it.
I'm surprised a game so Japanese like this got a localization. There are tons of Japanese TV show and folklore references that probably most non-Japanese people don't understand. Meanwhile, tons of J-RPG that doesn't involve any Japanese knowledge didn't get a localization.
It's like Wario Ware, but the core of the game is _figuring out_ the objective rather than _reacting_ to the objective that's just given to you. So, in that sense... if Wario Ware were "action," this game would be "puzzle" 🤔
You two exist as eldritch fragments of my psyche, sense of humor, and compulsive voice acting. Thank you for helping make me a little more insane every joke you tell.
21:20 Have you guys never watched a sentai show, what you're supposed to do is let the three fighters say their thing completely, then the person who is playing the demon guy says his thing, and then the person who is playing the girl screams for help. All the while not moving or getting in the way.
Yeah, Dan always goes along with Arin. Being considerate is his whole thing. You often hear him completely just change his mind on something just because Arin says something to contradict Dan and Dan wants to be agreeable. So he'd be much better at taking the lead with this game.
@@BlueJeiVA arin is 30 something, and Dan is 41. They most likely know how to cook healthier and better tasting food, and thus haven’t had instant ramen in years
@@ladigoos8835 Yeh know, I haven't had instant ramen in like a decade And I still remember it's 3 minutes. I think most of them even say it on the package
How does Arin have a whole collection of Kamen Rider masks and not realize the villain is suppose to wait to say his lines after the rangers do their pre-battle speech?
@@dirtydan2695 Honestly, even if he just react to Arin would be fun too, but Arin would probably complain a lot at first, until he finds the right bit ... like italian Sayaka
You know, for years Arin and Dan always reminded me of an existing duo and I could never quite put my finger on it. I watched The Road to El Dorado the other day and that was it. Arin and Dan remind me of Miguel and Tulio o_o
Hello I’m not gonna make this long but You guys make me laugh. A lot. You really make me feel better about the whole lot of shit going on right now. I don’t know how much this means to you or if you will ever even read it, but I tried to introduce everyone I know to you and I managed to get some of them into your channel as much as I am. Thanks, Dan and Arin, for making quarantine better for me and keeping me sane. 🧡
Had a brief internship in a Japanese institute once. Nobody really leave early during premium friday, especially when there are still work to do. I think the considerate move as the boss would be to accompany your subordinates which also won't leave work early (?)
@@crimsonvampyre602 grave of the fireflies. it's an animated movie set in WW2 about a boy and his little sister trying to survive the war. The scene referenced at 27:36 is the one where the little sister dies of starvation if i'm not mistaken.
You guys are so good at the cake cutting one though, seriously. I was telling my Mum and all her work friends how good you were at that, and they could hardly even believe it.
I don't believe he did, so I'll do it: the game is not a good game for game grumps. It requires attention, skill, and precise execution, all of which Arin lacks.
