And in one, tiny, insignificant little additional scene the entire series becomes ten times more tragic. Because Rook cares. And suddenly he's not the bad guy any more and you can see how people fall so far. And suddenly it's all so real. Which, for a programme about a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire and featuring Old Nick himself... is an achievement to say the least. This show is killing me.
in this scene rook's role is reversed he cares with every fibre of his being but he isnt able to take responsiblity in front of tom and you can see in his eyes, he hates that
In their dream, I'd imagined Tom and Hal took care of Natasha when the trio got back from the station. Tom: What should we do with her? Hal: We could dump her in the street. It isn't as though she'd be conspicuous. (Tom and Alex look disgusted.) Hal: Or not. But I like this. Rook's morality has been questionable, but here we see that he does care. It was great to see him look on with a bit of wonder at Tom for his show of humanity, too. Yes, Rook, Tom McNair is a better man than you.
