I knew your daddy he was a dear friend I loved him named my daughter after him I was with him at UCLA hospital visiting with him before he passed I learned of his music after I befriending him and fell in love with it I love this song and brown paper bag was always a dear one to me thank you for sharing this touched my heart i miss him may he rest in peace
She's the best kept secret in this country for sure. I was 14 when I met Bekka and it never gets old. I am her biggest fan and it's so much more than just her music.
Back here a year later and it's even better than before! Bekka is just terrific, all the way and all the time! She's one of the best singers around, and in constant demand, rightly so. No comparison really. Thanks for uploading...
I first heard her voice backing Jonny Lang in "Lie To Me," and fell in love with her sound. Much like Paul Westerberg, Bekka has labored in reletive obscurity, and elevating her craft all the while. Everyone hears her mother in her voice, but I hear far more.After listening to her I hear shades of Janis Joplin and something I cannot attribute to another influence, which is just pure Bekka. I just wish there were more live footage of her doing solo work. I could listen for hours.
Just heard her play tonight at BB King's diner in Nashville, one of the best voices I've heard since Aretha Franklin and Etta James, and watching her perform was just incredible, she becomes part of the music.

I think she is amazing Zebra902... from the perspective of a vocalist. She has soul and that makes her good all on her own. Whether your opinion is "her mother is better" is irrelevant. I think her mother would be mighty proud of that performance.
best voice since bonnie raitt. cant understand why this woman isnt headlining as she should be. she deserves more than being a backup singer. she's as bluzey as it gets. wish her the best.
