Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya reacts to the Kremlin's statements that Yevgeny Prigozhin has agreed to leave Russia for Belarus after the Wagner's Group rebellion in Russia. #CNN #News
This lady is confused and i have No idea why they interview her. by the Central Election Commission Monday. Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, a 37-year-old former English teacher who emerged as Lukashenko's chief opponent, won 9.9% of the vote, the election commission reported. The other three candidates received less than 2% of the vote. Turnout for the election was put at 84%. At a news conference Monday, Tikhanovskaya rejected the results. "The authorities should think about how to peacefully hand over power to us," she said. "I consider myself the winner of this election."
I find it difficult to accept how ppl like Poots, his hotdog chef, and the non president can hold an entire country of innocent people hostage. I don't like my Gov't but I love my country, and am fortunate we are free to say and do as we please with few restrictions. Bless the people of Belarus.
It is much worse in North Korea where the psycho in control is not only holding the entire country hostage, but he is torturing, murdering, and starving them to death. And he also threatens the rest of the world with nuclear weapons. It's beyond evil.
I hope you are not American saying that. If you are open your friggen eyes and see what the Biden regime has done the world KNOWS he is a usurper and not elected. Stop watching this CNN crap and save you damn country
True, though sometimes bravery isn't enough, and it's unfortunate that frankly she doesn't seem to enjoy quite the same 'charisma' as say, a Zelenskyy.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya is such a brave and articulate leader. She speaks with considerable knowledge. She has been in the belly of the beast and speaks from experience. Godspeed.
I don't see any courage or intelligence in her. An ordinary housewife. The USA will throw her out just like they threw out their other unsuccessful proteges.
More like he go to Belarus and take out Shenko and become ruler in that country so Putin can have Belarussian join the war with Russian against Ukraine. Hopefully that's not the case. Prigozhin should go back to Russian and finish what he started.
prigo taking power over bellarus always seemed like a fair deal for prigo from almost destroying russia prigo would never give up his push on moscow if the deal wasn't some kind of massive power shift
@@MyDeere3320 bellarus has no army as russia took all their equipment, there's no point in expanding the frontlines if he then also has to divert units from crimea to defend bellarus
First comment on the subject on the net that supports what I've been thinking. I'm just not sure Putin and Prigozhin will await the natural course of events, rather than help the process along (puts an entirely different spin on "assisted dying").
@@MyDeere3320 well the truth and the matter is that Luka did not attack Ukraine, in spite of the insistence of Pootler, simply because Belarus Army did not want to do it. If Luka is smart he shall only accept Prigo and a few of his henchmen in Belarus but not the bulk of Wagner troops.
Who do you imagine would be willing to pay for that? Prigozhin just lost his one client and provider. I don't see the Belarusian dictator step in here because he is Putin's puppet and Putin just offered all ex Wagner soldiers a job. Wagner no longer exists.
Svetlana speaks for many people in Belarus, Ukraine and other countries on Russia`s border. They want freedom of speech and democracy just as much as we do. Very brave lady
This situation could be a false flag. I believe Prigozhin is lying about the attack on his troops and there's a possibility that all of this is necessary stage play to move him and his forces into Belarus with a need to infiltrate the West.
Really? Freedom will harm Belarus like Afghanistan. The same political system doesn't fit every nation. Even in America you can't have freedom without money
@@margaretskinner6972I think they killed him, putin does not forgive and live to revenge, sending Yevgeny Prigozhin to Belarus was a trap to separate him from his forced, and simply disappear him… they will just say he is hiding somewhere and he is living with new identity!
She is delusional. She won 9% of a vote and started to call on Lukashenko to hand her power as she is legitimate winner of election. Lukashenko got 80% of a vote. Now she is invited to talk as is she is some expert. She is an English teacher. Was not even great at that and thought she would be able to lead a country with her great record of knowing English.
You don't have to take it by force if it's given to you. Lukashenko is nothing a puppet. Putin decides who manages Belarus for him. It may not end up to be Prigozhin, but Russia (if Putin's gone) will decide unless the Belarusian people can push the Russians out of their country. This may be Belarus best chance to break away, look how far Prigozhin got inside Russia, Ru MOD is stretched paper-thin. Ukraine still has a score to settle with what's left of Wagner, pinpoint weapons can find a new Wagner base.
@Yuri-uy5mu There are probably russian generals there and the Belarusian state is a russian puppet state. Wagner wanted to replace the military leadership for failure to provide ammunition or help them out properly. That's the joke he was making.
We must provide Ukraine with all the weapons required to protect it's people and regain it's territory. F-16's fighter jets, A-10's, Apache attack helicopters, heavy lift helicopters, Long range rockets, Long range missiles and long range artillery. Slava Ukraine.
@@grbadalamenti We're going to end up paying higher prices for many things indirectly due to this war and consequences of Russia winnning.. Of course that's too complicated for you to understand.
Why? What did she do so far? She got 9% of vote and her message was - everything Lukashenko does is bad and we should be more pro western. Ummm now people look at Ukraine and think yeah No Thank you. She says she is a president of Belarus with 9% of votes. Her experience is - teaching English.
Putain has made so many ordinary parts of life dangerous. From touching a door knob to walking on a street near the Kremlin at night or being anywhere near a window not on the first floor.
she’s such a brave and courageous woman. i’m sorry that belarusians don’t have her as their leader, i’m sorry, i hope you will have democracy and freedom one day.
Lukashenka was supposedly dying (hangovers can really be tiring), but now he has sobered up (for a while). Prigozhin has also sobered up and is now curing his hangover (and wondering about what he did while drunk). Unfortunately, Putin's delirium tremens continues.
Kiev is VERY well defended. They would need no less than 250,000 troops to even try. Wagner alone is estimated to have lost 20,000-50,000 in Bakhmut. A town the size of a small neighborhood in Kiev. Overall, capabilities (and successes) of Wagner have been greatly exaggerated.
They were applauding that ge left and did not organise another maidan and that all was settled peacefully. Have you not think why people were not interviewed there? They were but not by western journalists of course. This is what one man said: We Thank Wagner and it was a good decision and Putin is our master and we will always be united.
The reason Prigozhim was in Ukraine was because Putin violated the agreement Russia had with Ukraine to respect their sovereignty in exchange for Ukraine giving up their nukes and not joining NATO. Putin's word is no good. Prigozhim knows this yet accepted a false agreement. Hello?
Russia is trying to end the senseless killings of the Russian speaking people in the Donbass region. Justifying the killings of the Russian speaking people in the Donbass is completely wrong and evil.
They have Navalney in prison starving him to death-yet what Prighozen has done is worse, yet he is assumed to be allowed to go into exile in Belarus-only for a dirt nap.
The sa ru thing is like lana who just talekd against Lukashanko coukd be hurt just for talking the little that she did im am proud of her for showing no fear and letting people know that she is working her hardest to make change!!
The sooner Belarus becomes a free country and a member of EU the better for its people. Come on soldiers of Belarus, isn't it time you took control of your borders and implemented a democratic government. These step will enable your country to become.prosperous and a holiday destination for EU people to visit. This will allow you to decide what you do in life and provide security for the following generations of Belarusian children to look forward to. There will never be a better time to support Sviatlana in all of Belarusian history. Russia is weak, its military is weak, its leaders are weak and clownish. Never has there been a better time for action. We will help you.
Lukashenko's power and position depends on Putin and Pregoshyn on Lukashenko as he can detain Pregoshyn at any moment and knows his ware abouts, nobody is safe or unknown is Belarussia. Putin on the other hand has his ' man ' in Belarus and that suits him well to control Lukashenko and Belarus and it would not be a surprise if Pregoshyn would start an ultimate invasion into Ukraine where the Russian military has failed. We don't know where these vicious power games will end or is meant for behind the scenes ... all 3 are addicted to power and have no scrupules nor morals to keep it that way ...
Do not worry. Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia are NATO members. They are covered under Article 5 of the NATO charter. We are prepared and will defend every square inch of NATO territory The United States takes our Article 5 duties DEADLY seriously. You can sleep soundly knowing we WILL FULLY support you if needed. Article 5 was invoked for the only time for the United States on September 11, 2001. We will be there if needed. Now you even have Finland to help you quicker and better if needed. Do not worry.
This seems like a master move in geopolitics, pretending to be a coup to put thousands of the Wargner military group 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian capital and the border of Luitania and Poland.
@@thebestoffoolsi think they killed him, putin does not forgive and live to revenge, sending Yevgeny Prigozhin to Belarus was a trap to separate him from his forced, and simply disappear him… they will just say he is hiding somewhere and he is living with new identity!
Lukashenko probably welcomes having Prigozhin in Belarus as at the moment he is totally dependent on Putin to hold on to power and I am sure its a situation he does not like .The Wagner group can provide him with the security he needs and Prigozhin is no threat to him. Before Lukashenko lost a lot of his popular support in Belarus he used to stand up to Putin when he felt the need to do so and behind his open display of friendship and loyalty to Putin he probably despises him. The Wagner group can operate in Belarus just as well as it has done in Russia as it is not dependent on the Russian government to fund it.
Prigozhin retreated, chickened out,Ukraine was advancing, the revolt was only a ploy to save face, regroup in Belarus and be closer to the initial goal of taking Kiev. Pootin might try to annex Belarus and be part of Russia, attack Belarus is an attack on Russia, what then?
She got her 2 cents worth at the start, good for her. My theory is that Prigozhin lost his nerve...not that he had much to begin with, that is. 😁 He was getting it from both sides, so he wanted a way out. He will go into "exile" while his men are "dispersed" into the Grand Army, hunted down and murdered, or simply "disappeared." Some might fall victim to those crappy Russian windows... This whole episode stinks like day old fish. Putin and his Kremlin stooges were *_in the air to St. Petersburg_* within hours of Wagner's advance. Apparently, not enough thugs lined themselves up with Yevgeny, but enough to give the Kremlin crowd a real scare. This, folks, is the Russian version of the game "Chicken." In Russia, both "Bosses" usually chicken out. This episode did not disappoint. Bullies are cowards and cowards are bullies.
Prigozhin is going to have an unfortunate accident where he trips and falls out a 20th floor window. It doesn't matter if it's Russia or Belarus. It will happen. People who buck Putin always get a bit clumsey.
Did you all notice that Ukraine and most countries in Eastern Europe have very young, energetic, and passionate politicians. Meanwhile, we have Biden, Trump, Pelosi, etc. who all over 70 and making decisions for my generation that will affect us for the next 60 years?
@@zinneagutz1497 that will never happen! Not because of his politics but because unless he runs this election there’s no way his age and heart condition will allow him to run in 2028
Highly unlikely, although people keep on with this absurd theory. The army and people of Belarus do not want war. It is also important to keep in mind that Russia already tried this invasion tactic in the beginning of the war, it failed miserably. Attempting it again, now with far less equipment, would be insanely stupid. So, no. This is one of the least likely scenarios. It is not some master genius strategy they devised. They were exposed as deeply vulnerable. It does seem, however, that the Russian propaganda machine is hard at work, pushing this along with dozens of other nonsense, just to keep confusion going.
