10:36 Fun fact: Mads could give Blightsteel haste with Xenagos, and attack you with it. You only goaded the creatures he had on the field at the time.

Goad only works on creatures that are on the field when it resolves. Creatures cast with haste after the goad resolves would still be able to attack you

Same here, the only case this actually works with is with Kardur the doomscourge because it's an effect similar to goad but better.

4 colors Omnath needs something to keep the triggers on track. Nice video. Atla Palani is is just insane with free sacrifice enabler, with an ashnod's altar and a thornbite staff you can finish the game easily.

Ahhh I’m so happy Jesper built a Malcolm/Tymna deck too!!! All the 1-2 drop evasive pirates and a bunch of removal/counterspells with Debt to the Deathless as my finisher with all my treasures.

On first turn Andrew scryed that additional land so fast to the bottom that I have to use slow motion to see that island. Flooded hands are scary even on lands decks lol

A bit late now, but I always find with my omnath deck, bounce lands are the one. I find that the landfall triggers are usually more important than the mana they would give, so I always have them just bounce themselves back into my hand to garantee a landfall trigger whenever I need it, rather than leave it on the field. And paired with your atlas creature and a retreat to coralhelm, a bounce land means infinite triggers. Also, I might be wrong but I think you were right about missing a trigger, I think you reached his third one at some point and didn't deal the damage

All of Andrew's turn 5, 4 color Omnath triggers were missed which was 4 extra damage, potentially making it possible to take mads out on turn 8

uhm, doesn't goad only affect the creatures that are on the battlefield when geode rager triggers? it says "goad each creature target player controls.... ..until your next turn, THOSE creatures can't attack..." so I guess mads could've attacked you with the colossus.

yes, it even specifically says in Ragers gatherer page that creatures that enter the battlefield after Ragers ability resolves aren't goaded.

I felt the exact same way about the 4 color omnath. My Temurnath already had SO much going on... memorizing what each of my triggers was supposed to do, and not getting a bonus after playing the third land just felt pointless. I put Temurnath back together after about two weeks of playing 4colornath and I was just happier, but it's rare I find someone who also doesn't feel so great playing 4colors.

Hey @Muddstah I also built omnath deck and I believe that your deck's gas ran out quickly, my suggestion is to put more draw cards like Tireless Tracker, Return of the Wildspeaker, Rhystic Study and Sylvan Library. Life from the Loam is a great card to the deck.

No. You have to completely resolve the legendary rule prior to doing anything else.

Sack outlets are key, I agree. I wasn't doing much for the first couple of turns, because I did not have a sack outlet. Once I got that online, the machine started humming :-)

@@MTGMuddstah not sure if I am reading it wrong but, "text on Malcolm": Whenever one or more Pirates you control deal damage to your opponents, you create a Treasure token for each opponent dealt damage

@@azrirahmat1351 I believe because it specifically states Pirates at the beginning, that it applies this to the check for the second part. I'm not a judge, but it's what I've seen people doing since Malcolm's release. I'll try and double check with a judge though!

That Cyclonic Rift was a misplay. You would have had one more turn with it overloaded, and Deflecting Swat wouldn't have been able to impact it. May not have made a difference. Maybe it would have.

I think Andrew missed a bunch of Omnath triggers. He played a land for turn, and the cultivates but didn't get the Mana or deal damage.

Good catch! I'm still learning the deck. The landfall stuff is a lot to keep tracking of while I'm watching life totals, etc.

@@MTGMuddstah I've been playing omnath for a while and it's super powerful imo. I took a look at your version and I don't think you're taking enough advantage of landfall tbh :P. It's a lot of triggers but totally worth it to go all in

@@wsspook I also built omnath and my list has the requirement that every card has to say the word “land” somewhere on it. All in on the synergy. Only one exception: charge across abara. It says “plains” on it though so it’s close...

This was pracctically a cEDH deck (Tymna/Malcolm) vs 3 normal powered decks. VERY lucky with these egg hits. Still, it was no fun watching everyone playing catch vs Jesper for 7 turns.

13:22 You can't use Beledros' untap more than once a turn. That's the second time this turn. New commander so understandable mistake, just wanted to point that out. EDIT: People have kindly pointed out that he used the token's ability as well, my mistake and thanks for the correction :)

Sander created a clone of Beledros and sacced the original (which was the 1st untap effect). The clone hasnt had it's ability activated that turn yet.

What Justin said is correct. The second activation was from the token copy and a "new" ability.

he made a token copy of Beledros so I believe that play is legal. Each Beledros only used the ability once during the turn.

Mads could have played the shock land(Stomping Ground) turn 1 tapped and Sunpetal Grove would etb the battlefield untapped since Stomping Ground is a Forest

I didn’t try and counter anything or interact much in the round where Mads got the Elesh Norn down because ei wasn’t really scarred. I had the lim duels vault ready and my creatures would have backed me up on the draw issue with bolas citadel making my top decking favorable and I also had top in my hand. I was so sure i couldnt losse that Inwanted my counterspells ready for the going off turn. Elesh norn and thereby destroying all my creatures was one thing I didn’t anticipated. Most off all because Mads had asked me for my deck list of my Atla deck and I didn’t play Elesh norn.

Ye, I don’t love 4 color Omnath; if you have more than 3 land drops, it does nothing, whereas the other two (omitting og Omnath) get any number of triggers ((for something like a scapeshift idk)) The egg deck always seems fun when I see her, but I’ve never built a successful naya deck before :/

Did Mads trigger Kodama even onece? Don't know what he had in hand, but he could probably have dropped Goblin Bombardement with one of the triggers. I don't now if Jesper going out on his own terms should be considered a spite play? I think since he was dead anyway he should have let Sander get the life. Both things didn't matter in the end, still would like to know your opinions.

No, I never triggered Kodama. Sad :-/ I was hellbent for much of the game, and topdecked the Bombardment the turn I cast it.

Loosing so much life the round before bad use I lost my blockers was devastating. The 3 damage from my mana crypt took the last wind out of my sails. The bolas/top combo is usually a good foundation for winning. But you need more than 4 life.
