I was extremely lucky to have The best Bell technician on earth at my house. His work was so profound, ethics so polished, knowledge so vast.
He arrived at the job and did not waste anytime to wire fiber optical cable from the telephone pole to my house in no time and with such great neatness.
If you are getting Bell Fiber, i am sharing the process so you understand what it takes.

@@AStudentInCanada Save it, I've seen this team in action. They installed my mothers internet 3 times. 3 times!!! the 3rd time was a charm because I took the day off to drive up and find out why it was being disconnected and remaining disonnected for up to a week in between. The answer was simple; the "bell" "technician" was just disconnecting the neighbors internet and connecting my moms, then disconnecting my moms then connecting the neighbors. You know a make work project that screws over paying customers that need the internet =)

Got this at my home in 2019. I was working for cabling company at the time. I wasn't a tech, but i did spend about 1.5yrs working with our techs. We ran cable all over our local BIG airport, as well as other BIG contracts. When I told our cable techs about the job the Bell tech had to do at my home, outside, int the cold, they almost died! He had to run 50 feet across my neighbour's back yard, another 50' across my backyard, then bring that fibre 135' up to the front of my house. ALONE! OMG! He was VERY LUCKY! The install was scheduled for the after. He called me and asked if he could come a day earlier, so i said sure. Had he come the day after, the temp would have been minus 15 degrees below zero! Would have been BRUTAL!!! It did take him 4hrs. The temp was a little chilly when he did it, but not so bad. I fed him and tried to help him as much as I could. There's NO WAY my techs would have done a job like that by themself. They're unionized. I let him know I appreciated his efforts.

Thanks for the video. Bell finally offeres a "low" speed fibre to the home service, 50Mbps up and down. This means after almost 30 years on copper DSL I can get off of it! I have had nothing but problems for the last 15 years. Every year I have to have Bell over to troubleshoot the copper. And now, my DSL modem appears to be failing from heat stress. The appointment to install fibre to the home is today. I was curious what the process is so thanks for the video showing how they installed in your house! UPDATE: I am getting a solid 64/62 with the Giga Port. This is a new service tier that is fibre to the home, it is not copper wire. Check bell's plans for your address. if fibre to the home is not available you'll see 50/10 "fibre powered", and if available 50/50 "pure fibre". The tech did indeed install a new fibre line to the pole and jacked into the CO fibre there. Sorry to the nay sayers, you info is out of date.
@britneymaysplendia8901
@britneymaysplendia8901 Год назад
That 50/10 is not pure fibre to the premises or home, the only 50/10 they provide is fibre to the neighbour hood which everyone on that plan shares the same node.

@@bootsrmade4walkin664 Yes, possibly even if you submit a formal grievance or complaint because the city is the one that issues the permits and the permissions for them to install the service to that place. You would unfortunately have to take Bell to court over it but even then would have a 50% if maybe lucksight chance of actually winning though in over half the cases nope. Usually either way, they don't come over there unless you've signed up for service even by a subcontract company, for example, if you sign up for DSL through Teksavvy that is still Bell's network and their service, which means their equipment even though despite its on your property. If you in any way have service with them, they have every right to access said equips, if they deem the infrastructural upgrade necessary yes they can. Even if you think about disputing it, I know I wouldn't even do that because I know the whole point and purpose of said upgrade leads to way far much better QoS to my ISP and at end of day, ya know, coaxial takes forever anyway, don't really know why you'd wanna stand to lose out and risk waiting hundreds of milliseconds translating into even up to couple minutes before anything even god damn would load up and complete or else otherwise finish. Their policy states that they have to restore the property to its previous state or better after the installation, that is their whats called 'restoration process'
@britneymaysplendia8901
@britneymaysplendia8901 Год назад
@@bootsrmade4walkin664 Reasonbeing is if you do both, you cannot guarantee the performance as per SLA requirements topologywise meaning network layout wise, incl. latency and line-rate speeds, you don't do both for that very reason. Regardless whether its Hybrid(Sub-Fibre/Coaxial still cable variant) or DSL(Co-Fibre but not full real fibre potential) added in with Fibre makes no difference to the degradation, no improvements really otherwise except that DSL is better than Cable, thats why Cable has much lower upload speed whereas DSL can tend to struggle with download speed instead. Also, no, when you layout your network's fiberwire and do the internal mileage mapping properly and configure the equipment server config wise correctly, you shouldn't experience any degraded rate of speed or service so long as you have a proper Gigabit Ethernet Card and by default a Multiple Gigabits Per Second Router. Thats why things are so costly, because at first Rogers and Bell chose to do both and all the layout costs are pretty much being made to be paid by customers which isn't really the correct thing ta do however, Bell is considering after I've had serious constructive conversations with them in switching their pay model to subscriber dues instead of very highly costed monthly premiums and not making their customers pay for those layout costs because they realize its their internal responsibility to atp and not the people those whom choose to do business with them.
