I first bought a Rockville which I had for a few months. Cheap in the extreme. 21 slider controls for left and right. I fiddled around till I got it sounding half-way decent--for about a week. Then it suddenly had major distortion. Threw it out. I then bought a Bellari. I couldn't say enough about how much improved the sound.
EQ570 vs SE560 for Koss ESP/95X headphones? The price difference between the two is small. It appears the Sonic Exciter does more than just change EQ, but it also gives you only two EQ bands compared to the EQ570's four bands. Thank you for your reviews, Dave, especially since you are one of the only RU-vid reviewers of Bellari products.
You are welcome, my pleasure. I am glad you find the reviews helpful. I would take the SE560 as it has a way of "exciting" the sound whereas the EQ570 is strictly an equalizer. To me the sonic exciter was more fun and enjoyable.
Hey there Dave! Would you still recommend the EQ570 and do you know if you can pair it with a Topping DX3 Pro + or if a separate DAC and separate Amp are needed? Thank you so much in advance! Love your channel :)
My pleasure, you're welcome. Do keep in mind that you will need an amp. The Bellari does have 3.5 and rca output on the back. I can't remember how well the 3.5 works with headphones and IEM though. Sorry I just remembered that.
@@TheHonestAudiophile Ah, ok! Do I need a separate DAC and Amp unit though? Or can I just connect it to the DAC/Amp DX3 Pro+ via the RCAs? Thank you :)
Depends on how you connect your music source to the DX3 Pro+. If you're connecting via USB you'd need an amp and put the Bellari in the output chain. But if you're connecting to the Topping via RCA and using as external amp then you'd put the Bellari in the input chain. The Bellari 8snt an amp it's just an EQ.
Good old Ananda saves the day 😁. Interesting and really entertaining review Dave, really. Not sure this is the right unit for me, but an intriguing one 😄.
Exactly. Hifiman Ananda was the star on the amp for sure, truly enjoyed it. But look out if not using the enhance function as this amp is pure honesty.
@@TheHonestAudiophile haha yes, indeed. And I imagine, the very much honest nature of the HD600 and and the Mr. Speakers would get what you got, being way too raw to bear 🤪😖😬😄
I live in SLC and we have a ton of audio companies here (Wilson, RBH, Zu, Tekton, Kimber, Spatial, and yes Bellari). I'd love to go to their facility for a tour would be quite interesting; I think they are in Murray or South SLC. Anyway I'm only familiar with Bellari for their phono products (MT502 and VP549). Their products are sold at a local "pro audio" store called performance audio (which is awesome) so I've only seen their products. Anyway cool that they are venturing into the headphone space! They have a product called a "Sonic Audio Exciter" (SE560) which I have no clue what that is? Maybe an EQ with basically a treble and base boost only function but not the full EQ?
@@TheHonestAudiophile Cool I'll go look for that review. Have you tried their pho pre's ? Like I said that is their bread and butter especially their Moving coil coil step up transformer.
This HA543 review reminds me of a lot of the reviews I see for the AKG K701's... clinically accurate, none of the fun or lively coloration of other headphones. Hence why I see the K701's well-reviewed for audio mixing use or purists that want to hear the audio exactly as they were mixed and mastered. A lot of Rolls Corp (owner of the Bellari brand) products are geared towards studio use, and I believe the HA543 are more aimed at the same people who want the K701's.
I haven't heard the K701 but once but I can see where you are going. I agree that the Bellari/Rolls Corp gear is focused on the studio use. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing.
Excellent review! What amplifier would you use with IEMs? I've been using the HA543 with my on-stage IEM system. I've been pretty happy with it. Clean, clean clean and very powerful!
The HA543 would be a great option for sure. I also recommend the THX 789 as it works well with IEM and the THX 788. I use a lot of dongles with IEM and prefer the xDuoo Link.
@Gabs Michel Yes you are correct, the HA543 has a flat sound signature but displays cold tendencies. It is a very analytical sound when the enhancement button is not in use. Stereophile.com definitions "flat" Having a subjectively uniform frequency response, free from humps and dips. Deficient in or lacking in soundstage depth, resulting in the impression that all reproduced sound sources are the same distance from the listener. "cold" Having somewhat excessive upper-range output and weak lower-range output.
hey great stuff recently started following...i am purchasing soon (2) Bose L1 Pro32's + (1) Bose T8S Tonematch mixer but i wanted that analog feel with respect to an EQ and i came across this because of the small size, i will be purchasing the mount adapter for the mixer and a small clamp-on utility shelf to put on a tripod....basically i wanted something small, simple, effortless and sweet filtering.....would you recommend this still?....
@@TheHonestAudiophile great....i initially thought i needed a pre-amp but then again its Bose everything i will be using is already powered properly, the tech is new so why not just go for extra clarity and of course the small sizing was what i wished to look for...i will definately be trying this EQ....thanks again! great stuff !
Similar power SE to both the Archel Pro and Atom. It is more analytical sounding then both, has a coldness to it except when enabling the enhance function. It is a better comparison to the Archel 2.5. I haven't heard the Magni 3.
@@TheHonestAudiophile There is two main awesome EQ on the market at a low price : Schiit Loki Mini & Mini DSP (2x4, 2x4HD, etc ...) The schiit loki mini is hard to get in Europe. So i was interested to know more about EQ570.
@@TheHonestAudiophile I heard about it by watching Z reviews channel. It's a guy who know a lot of stuff on sound system. But he never compared it to Bellari stuff. So i've fall on your review. Anyway, nice review. It helped me to know more about the EQ570.
I am sorry you feel that way. I do not use eq on a regular basis. I took the approach of talking about my experience instead of specifics as I this item was just that for me, an experience. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thanks for watching this very old video. Amps can be difficult to review as their is a lot of variables that go into reviewing them. Honesty is the Best Policy! You should watch the entire video, you'll see that differences are heard between amps and how that synergy plays a big part. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing.
