I used to live there as a child for 2 years. Back in 1981-1983. I never forgot this place. Back then they had a brothel, small movie theater, several liquor stores and bbq joints. Black, Haitians, and Jamaicans live there and none like each other. I'm originally from Chicago and I thought I seen poverty but I was taken to a new low. Kids were being kidnapped and raped when I lived there. Including boys. I seen a boy get snatched right in front of my face there. They still had slave plantations in some areas. Without the slaves of course. And people worked the corn or sugar Kane fields. Every place was walking distance. One of the 1st case of AIDS was discovered there. It was crazy. Now i'm almost 40 I want to revisit to see if there has been any improvement.
