I visited that cemetery and Cavalry over Memorial Day, both are utterly breathtaking and I so want to go back. I still cant get over the grandeur and the scale of the monuments.
That's right. I'm still shocked and surprised he'll be buried here, since he didn't live in St. Louis nor did he have family here (that I know of...). Whether people liked him or not, or agreed with him on things - it'll sure be a very interesting addition to the cemetery
I love walking cemeteries. Always have since I was a small girl...6/7 years old. I really love the old graves. This looks like a good one. Do you try and read the stones? That's what l look for on cemetery sites.😊
6th district police station is across west Florissant used to be next store to the fire station. Haven't been there in years. Don't know what they are now.
The Luyties angel isn’t really an angel but was made to look like an Italian actress Herman proposed to that turned him down. He commissioned the statue which he kept in his mansion for years and requested be moved to his grave. I just learned this today
