“Calvary Cemetery is a Roman Catholic cemetery located in St. Louis, Missouri and operated by the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Founded in 1854, it is the second oldest cemetery in the Archdiocese. Calvary Cemetery contains 470 acres (1.9 km²) of land and more than 300,000 graves, including those of General William Tecumseh Sherman, Dred Scott, Tennessee Williams, Kate Chopin, and Auguste Chouteau.”

My grandmother is buried here. Born 1900. This place has a feel of spacious dignity.

In the 60s, I use to walk in this cemetery with my girlfriend. The place was peaceful and pastoral.

It's also the burial place for the priest who was later represented in the movie "The Exorcist", moving the actual story from the St. Louis region to the east coast.

Oh wow that’s very interesting! I’ve heard of The Exorcist House in St. Louis but didn’t know that about the priest.

That was one of the main things I wanted to see lol. I’ve now been to this cemetery twice. This video is from my first visit. The first time I looked all around but couldn’t find it. The second time I was able to locate it but sadly I lost the video footage before I could get it posted to RU-vid. My plan now is to go back one more time once the Chouteau fountain in KC is complete. Then I can put the footage together. Third time’s a charm right? :)

@@ShowMeMo Ok so you’re probably going to want to find his fathers grave first (Auguste Chouteau, one of the founders of St. Louis). It’s located across the street from a section where some priests are buried, towards the top of the cemetery. I do have footage of the priest area so I will share that here (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0RWQA7ALKGg.html it starts around 1:00.). Francois grave is down a hill a little bit and to the left from his fathers. Hope that helps!
