I think the same thing, that BOS is the Canadian Titan BOS quality is equal to Titan, IMO. I've been watching BOS since they joined the industry and thought they were gonna rival REP but that just has not happened. Titan has raised it's prices so high that you can get REP equipment for what Titan is charging and I see nobody buying Titan over REP. BOS prices are too high also IMO for what they offer. I keep going back to REP as the leading home gym company. I'm just not a Rogue fan, I think they price gouge almost every piece of equipment so the only Rogue products I own and will probably ever own is the Aluminum USA Collars and 2 pairs of wristbands. Great video Love your honesty You and Gluck are the most honest reviewers out there. Basement Brandon was in there too but he is accepting a lot of free stuff which there is nothing wrong with but he has me confused right now on where he stands. This is just my honest take Take Care
Thanks! I agree with all you said 100%. Sometimes I feel like I buy and review too much Rep stuff, but they're generally the best option for most things these days. Plus, great company who really truly cares about its customers.
I hate bells of steel. I bought their ss3 ssb and I don't like it. It's not well balanced due to the shallow camber, the black zinc is chipping off in chunks from my plastic lined j cups, and for it to fit in a 47 inch wide rack you have to have sandwich jcups. I bought their straight knurled handles for the ss3 and they are way to short. When screwed in tight they only stick out 3 and a quarter inches past the pad. I tried to leave a one star review on the handles for being to short they didn't post it. I wrote it 2 more times and they still didn't post it. Garbage company.
Yeah, BOS quality just falls short, I think they better lower their prices or raise the quality. I know I would never buy anything from them as things sit right now
Agreed. Quality and it seems like they don't put much thought into it when they design the equipment. It's like the people designing it don't work out and use the equipment themselves so they don't know what people want in their equipment.
Yeah the rep bar should be fully knurled too. I wish we could just get everyone that makes a curl bar or rackable curl bar to fully knurl the bar shaft at least on the bends/curves where you grip the bar. So you can do all types of curls, reverse curls, tricep, extensions skull, crushers, etc..
YES!!!! I don't get how that concept is so hard. I have a short EZ curl bar by Fringe Sport that is knurled perfectly. YOu can do so much other than curls with this kind of bar, but not if there's no knurl where you need it.
Great introduction.. I'm very happy to see honest reviews. I never trust a review that was gifted to the reviewer. Keep up the good work...I notice the rep fitness bar also has a very small knurling area. I'm looking for a lot more knurling on my next rackable ez curl bar..
I have the rep rackable chrome curl bar. I only wish there was more knurling. Other than that, love the chrome rackable. The angles are more comfortable for my elbow than using the rep curl bar cable attachment
Thanks! While I hae started accepting a few free things here and there, I still shy away from it when I can. I'll always point out when an item was provided at no charge for a review. What I will never deviate from is using the items for at least 6 months personally before reviewing. I also tell every company that the review will be honest and that it won't be out right away. 95% of all the companies that reach out to give me review samples never respond when I tell them that. It's gross. Like they know they're in for a bad review if anyone does more than a 5 minute once over. Rep review will post today. And that's exactly what I don't like about the bar. I just can't find a SS one that's rackable and has the knurl coverage I want. If you come across one, please let me know!
They really do make some decent stuff if you don't mind that feeling of a lack of quality. A lot of times the issues are aesthetic, so if you can look past that, it's usually okay.
There is a large segment of Chinese mfrs. who "white label" a lot of this stuff. I'd bet that ALL the bars that look like this come out of the exact same factory in China. It's how most fitness companies start off. Rep started this way, so did Titan, Fringe, Bells, and pretty much everyone else except American Barbell and some other old school US companies.
that cerakote finish on this bar is absolutely terrible. I picked up the fringe sport midas bar and it had terrible spin, with any weight on it the bushing would seize. The REP curl bar is lacking knurling in my opinion but you can't beat the stainless steel.
