Nolan was accurate where it mattered the most, Batman's Character, unlike affleck's batman who became an ANTI-Hero because of Jason Todd(Or so the DCEU fans say), Bale never went "bad" he soldiered on through as a noble HERO.

Perfect description! And that's why the success of that trilogy can not be duplicated in the DCEU. The Dark Knight Trilogy humanized and underpowered its heroes and villains in order to make them real world believable. It's difficult to make Superman, the Green Lantern, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, Steppenwolf, and the avatar of Darkseid real world believable. They stepped in it when they tried to villanize Superman for fighting the Kryptonians in the city. Superman IS the Justice League. Have some fun with the character, damn!

Bale is such a wonderful actor. I loved how Bale showed that Batman wasn't "just" a hero but one who had vulnerabilities/struggles just like everyone else. He did a great job on showing how Batman overcame his fear/sorrow (even though not fully) and became .. the THE DARK KNIGHT!!

Bale won for 2 main reasons. And it has nothing to do with Batman. 1. Bale got a dedicated trilogy movies with great script, director, and Heath Ledger. 2. Bale is a much respected actor than Affleck. Many people hate Affleck for his Younger shitty movies. And although he has won 2 Oscars, people still give him shit for the past.

Forget Heath Ledger. People laud his Joker so much because he died and no one will convince me otherwise. However, Bale did get a much better script and director. But even Affleck's delivery wasn't really that solid. He's a much better actor than he used to be, by and large, but Batman has not been his best role lately.

The amazing Spider-Man was actually good. Second favourite behind Spider-Man 3. So I don’t think it’s just that we grew up with it. I dont understand how affleck won the defective skills round. You might be forgetting, in the dark knight, bale straight up cuts out a piece of the wall for further analysis. He than recreates the gun shot and than scans the bullet hole,before reconstructing the bullet on a 3d computer, and than scans the figure print o the bullet. Now that screams best detective.all affleck does is hack something, and I knowhacking is hard, but it is common. I'll remind u again, bale straight up takes apiece of the wall just to analyze. The final should have been 4 - 1 to bale. Just kidding, it should have been 5 - 0 to bale. He had the better and morememoral bruce wayne as well. You have to remember, that Bruce Wayne is the mask, not batman.

Though afflecks acting is very good, his portrayal of batman is bad. You see, he kills people. If the people behind the DCEU movies released that their version of batman is a different version from a parallel earth that does kill people, or a parody or some think Idk, than it would be okay.so you are wrong on that as well. Good acting, but terrible portrayal. No offense to Ben affleck of course, who just said the script and did what he was told.

I agree with the Bruce aspect but the detective skills is a toss up, neither were impressive at all in that regard. Batman is always either 3 steps ahead or always gathering info and prepping. Bale and Affleck even at their best were slightly ahead of the opponent. The hacking of Affleck to me was equivalent of Bale's wall scanning, both mostly had tech do the work, good work but short of World's Greatest Detective standard. Neither ever really effective interrogated or put pieces together were the audience was wowed. Also I think The Dark Knight Rises makes Bale look worse compared to the first 2 films given he did solid work there but for some reason it was dialed back in the final film.

You think that cutting out a piece of the wall, recreating the bullet shot down to the atom structure, scanning it to the atom structure and recreating the finger print on a 3d computer doesn't scream worlds greatest detective? Who taught u what being smart is? Even if u do think hacking is st least on par with what bale did (which BTW it's totally not) balrhacks as well because he needs to get access to everyone finger prints so as to locate the correct one which would be much hs re are than getting access to meta human files! Case closed!

Both are so good and different. The only aspect where one is objectively above the other is fighting skills, where batfleck is clearly miles ahead. Others point are just about personal tastes, but both are amazing actors in amazing movies.

Vebir Lekha I grew up as a massive Batman and Spiderman fan, hands down my 2 favorite superheroes. While I agree that Bale is the best Batman, I think Tom Holland is the best Spiderman. Maguire was really good (except for 3 but I don't blame him for that) but Tom Holland imo really nailed the character. He is like a live version of Peter/Spidey from the animated series and the comics.

For the detective tier, they sort of neglected the entire dark knight movie. He was only ever one step behind the joker, who was as unpredictable as he was genius, and he literally reverse-engineered a bullet to find out one of joker's targets. What did affleck do exactly? Hack a lexcorp database? Bale hacked numerous phones in gotham to use them to emhance his sonar vision.

To be fair, we saw 3 movies of Bale's batman with lots of story for him, all solo films. The two films we saw Affleck's batman in weren't solo films, so a lot of potential detective work and other story would possibly take up too much space for other things with the different characters / actors. If Affleck stayed to play Batman for the solo movie that was planned, I'm sure we would have seen detective work and such.

i'd say they didn't talk about a very large part of detective work which is deduction. In which Affleck, after watching a brief moment of those two fighters when he hacks KGBeast's phone, gave a tip to the fighter on how to win. Which he also figured out that the spear would work against doomsday. He also found the rest of the league based off of nothing but 10 second videos. This is all without the help of lucius Fox.

THOUSANDS OF POUNDS? Just point me to the issue(s)stating /this PUH-LEEZE! The strongest he'd been depicted that I recall was when HE was hooked on VENOM, and decided against using it due to the way it was warping his character, and I don't recall that THOUSANDS of pounds being lifted. Unless he's been overly augmented since then, I think you're exaggerating a bit there. That being said- I may be mistaken. As stated above, I've not been following the books for some time now.

Michael is who I grew up on and love him as Batman, minus the tendency to kill everyone he fought. But there wasn't enough of him in his own movies! There was also almost zero of Bruce! It would have been nice to see the main character in those two films, it was all about the villains. I watched Batman Forever again a few months ago and really like Val as Bruce. I thought Val nailed the handsome, playboy, suave, charming, but full of kindness very well. As Batman he just had a great voice.

Well, it's about writing but your assuption is wrong. If more relatable Batman would be better, you are right. BUT... Bale's Batman was written to be relatable while they took a much heavier task of making Batfleck less relatable to an average viewer. He is depressed, broken, really brutal... At first you may be really abhorred. Not everyone can relate to a person so hopeless and devoid of human emotion (even batman himself is aware of this as he stated it openly in Justice League) and it is a far more ambitious task to present such a character to the viewer and hope they don't reject or missunderstand the movie (as they did, sadly).

Being "guffy" is kinda Batman's thing (in the comics) well at least in dialogue sense. Batman isn't always dark and brooding. He's actually most of the time sarcastic and makes jokes. Come to think of it, Batman isn't dark and brooding at all. Just plain serious and vigilant.

Ben Affleck is a hyper-real version of the comic book Batman/Bruce Wayne, in terms of visuals, fighting style, few lines of dialogue and tough demeanor. He is a showcase of how visually striking Batman can be while staying true to comics. Christian Bale is an emotional, mature, articulate, distilled version of what Batman/Bruce Wayne truly means. He's a distillation of everything that is relevant to understanding Batman, in a modern crime-movie setting. If I wanted to show someone how cool and awesome Batman is, I'd show Batfleck scenes. If I wanted to show how deep and heartfelt Batman's story is, I'd show Bale's scenes. I like both, for different reasons.

Bale's Batman was young and inexperienced. Affleck's was older and more world-weary. Bale's never had a sidekick. Affleck's sidekick died. I thought that there shouldn't even be any comparison between the two because so much had happened that was different between them, that you can't compare their portrayals. So I agree that they both portrayed the best Batman, since each Batman was theirs alone.

I couldnt agree more both potrayals were fantastic. But were different age and different experiences. Bales Batman was young confident and a little arrogant he had morals of not killing and stuck by that as he had not seen eveything and not been tested much. Whereas Afflecks Batman was tied worn down and scared of what he felt the world could become where he was more willing to do eveything and anything neccasary to win. The Joker had already killed Robin and his planet was being destroyed by Aliens in is view. Snyders Batman resembled a lot of charcteristic of The Batman in Dark Knight Returns so in that sense this Batman would be after Bales and seen way more. The dark and gritty potrayal should this really well I love both potrayals i just perfer The Dark Knight as a film as it is a masterpiece.

In Batman vs Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman in the dock´s fight was superb. I mean, he literally kill the other guys, wich is suposed to be the only rule he can´t break, but he did it. And was satisfying to see him how sweep the floor with those guys. And, at the end, let´s face it, Is not the same fight against Doomsday that fight against Bane.

I don't think so. Affleck worked BECAUSE of half decent directing/writing. Bottom line is he was way too big of a star to be cast as Batman. You could never watch him and go "that's Bruce Wayne" ... It's just "Oh that's the guy from Good Will Hunting who went on to play another superhero but is now playing Bruce Wayne" ... Bale was a fairly successful actor but he wasn't a big Hollywood star when he was cast as Bruce Wayne. He brought his own unique presence to the character which made him believable. Affleck never had that and never could.

ed1rko17 I kinda see what you’re saying but every actor that’s played Batman in a movie has been an A list actor. I guess it only adds to your point that Bale was the least known when cast but is considered the best Batman by most though.

@@zacsmothers6883 Keaton and Kilmer were not big stars when they were Batman. George Clooney was, but he was the worst Batman. You can't cast big stars as Batman. That's why it worked with Keaton, Bale, and IMO Kilmer was a decent Batman.

@@ed1rko17 yes they were. Most people were surprised by Micheal Keaton's portrayal, because he was known for mostly comedy roles. As for kilmer I didn't like kilmer because I thought he was too young looking to be a Batman.

Full agreement. The Dark Knight Trilogy are my top three favorite movies of all time. The dark and gritty realism was far superior as a Batman tale than anything else Hollywood has put out yet. In a world without superheroes, Nolan's Batman did the job that no one else would or could do.

The winner is easy: Bale thinks and acts like Batman. Even when he decides to retire (not very Batmanish per se) he made sure someone else could don the cape and protect Gotham when he's gone and moved on with his life. That's an elegant and smart way to reinvent Batman for a 21th century cinematic version without betraying the source material. In Batman V Superman instead the character Affleck portrays someone who wears a batsuit, but he never acts or think like the true dark knight. Cold blood killings, unnecessary cruelty towards any criminal or threat he encounters, including someone that should be IMMEDIATELY recognized by the world's greatest detective as a good guy, not a menace. And no, Frank Miller's TDKR is not an excuse, that Batman was edgy but stayed true to his moral code nonetheless.

Yeah, why does everyone forget The Dark Knight where he does do detective work. He could've done a little more in the first Nolan film, but there are several scenes in the second where he does do the work. Affleck's Batman kills people with guns and is easily manipulated by Lex, which Batman shouldn't be so easy to fool.

As far as detective work, there’s four times I can remember that he did detective work in TDK. 1. The bullet scene, 2. Quickly deducing which officers had family in the hospital and alerting Gordon before they could make a move on Reese, 3. Finding Lau and bringing him back, and 4. Discovering the armed guards who were tied up and weapons taken.
