The Cars were a huge part of my growing up. Ben totally inspired me to move from guitar to bass when I was 12, took some lessons and learned a few Cars songs! I had a lot of fun making this video, I hope you enjoy watching it as much~!

I met Benjamin at an 80’s Rewind Concert and he was a true gentleman. He was so cool. I miss him. R.I.P. Benjamin.

@@LittleMissIssues No problem. So sad that both Benjamin and Ric are gone. I can’t think of too many Bands where both singers are deceased. I love The Cars. I just bought one of their box sets. When I saw The Cars fronted by Benjamin at the time (this was in 1999), he was rocking a black trench coat and sunglasses. His set was phenomenal.

In 1985 when I was majoring in Communications, Benjamin Orr came to the college and spoke to us. He was a beautiful, gifted soul, and what a heartbreak to lose him to pancreatic cancer in 2000.

Despite his pretty boy image, he was all man; He was a patriotic American, served his country and liked to hunt and fish. He's a very interesting person. He is a very interesting guy, I feel this way about him, too, wishing for more insight into him. ⁠@@LittleMissIssues Loved this ! Have you read the book “Let’s Go “ by Joe Milliken? It came out in 2018, and its a biography about Ben. The author interviewed hometown friends and former bandmates from his time before The Cars , along with many others he knew along the way to his success and afterwards. It could have gone into more depth, but it was pretty good nonetheless. Ben comes across as a kind , humble person who never forgot his roots.

Hey!! Yes! Thank you for the sub xo I was 11 in 1977, and was into a lotnif new wave music at the time, so I flipped OUT for the Cars!!! I played the grooves right off the first record. I drove my.mom nuts I played the same songs for or five times in a row before moving on to the next one!!! Haha I love that it drove her nuts hahaha!! ;) I'm like "mom you love them and you know it!!!"

LittleMissIssues SO MUCH to love about this video!!! Everything about it was wonderful, I started writing down my favorite time stamps & realized it was basically the entire thing😂. But absolute favorites: 3:44 (beautiful pic of the 2 Cars I adore most ❤️), 3:53 (favorite Cars song & favorite video since I was a kid), 4:12 (someone pls tell me where to buy these shoes!), 5:10 (lost count how many times I’ve played this album, want to frame it), 5:20 (no explanation needed 😂), 6:02 (beautiful summation of my favorite CARS concerts), 6:30 (I’m a sick Mom that’s almost left their only child-a son-3 times & am struggling to see him through his teen years-this pic hits hard but ❤️it), 0:17/0:21/6:19 seriously what female doesn’t faint at, I mean love this…which is why I was LMBO at 2:03🤣🤣🤣 I have to make that my screen saver🤣🤣🤣 THANK YOU for this, you made my day!!!
