@@KingKunta_ I can see why you say that but I feel Wilson gets his praise. Ben was in the NFL for 8 years before Russell Wilson and still just continually gets better over time. Brady, Manning, Brees and Rodgers have always overshadowed him. But I do think Wilson is also underrated but to be fair, evaluate that again in 8 more years.
CowSlayer2 lmao u mean if Ben haven’t gotten jealous lol the second Ben started loosing credibility shit went south he started saying AB name then grasped on to juju using him as leverage saying Steelers always have good wr...while this may be true the fans who at heart think AB wasn’t the best wr to hit Pittsburgh ever can’t see talent, it showed when he left while Ben was hurt juju still could not find separation bc AB wasn’t there taking on the number 1 CBS n double teams us loosing AB is a bigger loss then we think only thing saving us is the the fact finnlly the D is coming together after a whole decade AB should be respected on Pittsburgh he carried that offense for 8 years
Glenn Rauch thats stupid shut up the hit didn’t change his attitude then loosing every time they face the patriots bc of poor QB plays n coaching did then to add on Ben goes on radio n throws AB under the bus multiple times before he even spoke up lmao 😂 u ppl so god damn stupid n don’t even know the whole story follow ppl like little bitches lmao
chuck don’t know how u don’t it’s what happened everyone just went with the media that It’s ABs fault y’all watch when Ben comes back he’s not winning shit unless the defense gets back to its old ways that’s what steeler fans don’t get Ben is one of the luckiest QBs ever he came into a fully stacked defense n offense then get a even better offense with AB Wallace extra n couldn’t win Ben is overages he is no better then Eli with throws he has one good one here n there he deff isn’t elite if he was he would of won with that offense but he needs a defense to save him
Been a patriots fan my entire life, but it’s honestly amazing seeing this all happen. This is truly an end of an era, an unforgettable quarterback who fell off in his final years. It’s really pretty crazy looking back onto what his career was now. Starting in rural Ohio, being drafted to the Steelers and leading them to championships and numerous playoff appearances. In 15 years they won’t have think of him as the washed up quarterback he is now, they will remember him as the incredible quarterback he used to be. He will end his career 140 odd miles from where it started
And here I am one hour before his final game (unless the stars align to get us in the playoffs). What a warrior. What a career. See you in Canton, Big Ben
Ben Roethlisberger’s current rankings all time: 8th in Completions 8th in Yards 7th in TDS 12th in QB Rating 12th in Yards per Game 12th in Comp% 5th Game Winning Drives 4th in 4th QTR comebacks 1st in 500 yard passing games 5th in wins 8th in win% 6th in playoff wins There is no other QB in NFL history that ranked Top 15 in every one of these categories.
@@jacobwilson7030 QB passing stats were much worse back in Bradshaw’s era, so it’s idiotic to compare based on that alone. For how bad his stats look on paper, he still managed to win an MVP. Ben’s never even gotten an MVP vote. Terry was more elite relative to his own era than Ben is/was relative to his own, and he has twice as many rings. And don’t forget that Ben’s first ring was won in spite of him. Bradshaw is comfortably better than Roethlisberger.
@@bobtyler6398 For the ignorance that Super Bowl XL was won in spite of him. Consider how he shredded 3 playoff games to get the team there and ran for TD. If he puts air under ball in 3rd qtr, it’s 21-3 and game over. Steelers were 20x the Seahawks in that game. Seattle didn’t score a point vs Pittsburgh in next 3 games played.
As far as I can remember they have only been eliminated by the Patriots once in the las 10 years, the other playoff eliminations were against the Jaguars, Browns, Denver, and Ravens (I think so). While Ben is definitely underrated, he wasn't winning 2 or 3 more Superbowls lol. Probably one more.
@@maudelhoyo4019 All playoff losses since Ben took over 2020: Browns Wild Card 2017: Jaguars Divisional 2016: Patriots Conference game 2015: Broncos Divisional 2014: Ravens Wild Card 2010: Packers Superbowl 2007: Jaguars Wild Card 2004: Patriots Conference game Well the Patriots stopped him from at least having two more Superbowl appearances. I'd say yeah he would have won 2 more rings if it wasn't for the Patriots because the 04 Eagles don't stand a chance against the 04 Steelers and for 2016 that ones pretty much up in the air but I think the Steelers would have won that match up against the Falcons with the score being 38-36 Steelers.
“The tackle” is IMO Ben’s greatest play, I still remember thinking that game was over when Harper picked the ball up and started running the other way with it. Great video, this is definitely the best Big Ben highlight reel I’ve seen on here.
Thanks! Yeah I thought that would be a good first play to put on there because it’s very rare that you see a quarterback make a play like that. Ben is on another level
Big ben is my quarterback I remember when he came in for the sry tommy Maddox and we got 16 years of watching a man take a beating and keep on coming he is a warrior and will always be a steeler I hope he comes back healthy and rips defenses apart on his way to his 3rd super bowl ring
Powerstroke nation 6.7 I kept telling everyone that Ben carries the offense and they didn’t believe me, they said that Ben is carried by the offense. Proved them wrong this year and we can do it again this year. Prove Ben’s doubters wrong and get Bens 3rd ring and the Stillers 7th. Let him ride into the sunset as a champion. Once a Steelers always a Steelers.
That throw he made in the Super Bowl over 3 defenders to Holmes for the TD and win was probably the greatest clutch throw I've seen watching football in over 40 years!!!
one of the most under-appreciated QBs of the generation/era. The problem is simple. Ben has done questionable actions off the field. I understand people's nature to not like him as a human. But the problem is many people allow their personal/emotional feelings about him as a person cloud their judgement on his game. If you truly separate his personality from his game and objectively view him as a QB only, you cannot deny that Big Ben is a top20 All time, first ballot HOF elite QB. He is a remarkable talent
If they get to the sb again that would be 4 sb appearances how could he not be considered top 5 of all time. Mahomes, breese, Rodgers, only 1 db appearance. Even peyton manning only 3 with 2 victories same as ben. One of peyton's victories he was also riding a number 1 defense all season just like ben early on.
Bengals fan here. Immense amount of respect for this dude, hell of a QB. I hate playing against him because he makes play after play after play. What a stud.
Glad you included what I thought was the "best" of Ben's plays that I ever saw - the incompletion against Baltimore. Showed how his head was really in the game, too; he knew he couldn't do that until he got outside of the tackle box.
Ben Roethlisberger has the most underrated, underappreciated career in QB history. READ these stats: 5th all time in wins 5th all time in passing yards 5th all time in completions 3rd all time in game winning drives 3rd all time in 4th quarter comebacks 1st all time in 500+ yard games 1st all time in perfect passer rating games 13 playoff wins, 5 conference championship games, 3 Super Bowls, 2 rings The Steelers have had ZERO losing seasons since drafting him 18 years ago. Without question, that body of work COMFORTABLY has an argument for Ben being a Top 10 quarterback of all time. And yet, it's like pulling teeth to get the media to consider him for even Top 15 or Top 20. THEE ONLY stats Ben is low in, are "human voting stats" (MVP's, All Pros, etc). Ben battled "opinion polls" like those awards his whole career. The media hated him, the refs allowed opponents to tee off on him more than other QB's without flags, he accomplished Top-5 all time major category throwing stats in an ALL OUTDOOR COLD-WEATHER division, filled with snowy, windy, muddy weather harder to put up numbers in. He did it through so many surgeries, concussions, and broken bones that we've all lost count and yet somehow managed to play to nearly 40 years old. He did it from a small mid-major school to 15-1 in the NFL AS A ROOKIE! He's a historically great winner, too. His 5th all time in wins isn't like other stats because the number of games has remained relatively stable over the generations, between 14 and 17 since 1972. So in the truest sense, Ben was supremely talented at doing the single most important role as quarterback, which is find a way to win. I hope the Hall Of Fame CORRECTS Ben's career-long underappreciation by voting him in on the FIRST BALLOT.
Missed one of my favorite plays. The fake spike versus the cowboys that resulted in the touchdown to brown. We ultimately lost that game but the trickery was great and done solely by Big Ben
i was just a kid when big ben and troy polamalu were on this team, i was too young to recognise their greatness but now i’m older and understand the game i’ll forever be grateful to this team for getting me into football. with troy now in the hof ben should be a no brainer. i’ll always remember screaming “BIG BEN” at the tv lol
Super Bowl XLIII, very easily one of the most defining moments of my sports life. I still get chills hearing Al Michaels yelling "Roethlesberger, has time...and it is CAUGHT FOR A TOUCHDOWN!" even after watching it for the millionth time. Love the Steelers, love Big Ben! #SteelerNation
Cant believe his last home game is this upcoming Monday. Easily a Top 5 qb ever and a first ballot hofer in my mind. Ben has been the only qb ive really ever known in my 22 years of life. He is the Steelers to me. These next couple seasons arent gonna feel right without him. LOVE YEW 7
I’ve been a Steelers fan since I was kid. I was around 12 and had a copy of madden 98 for sega genesis and that was my team and has been through my life. I’ve enjoyed watching bens career. GO STEELERS!
I feel like so many people have really taken Big Ben’s place in the league for granted with his longevity and how he has almost always had the Steelers competing at a top-tier level. Really been overshadowed by Tom Brady being arguably the best QB of all time simultaneous with Ben low-key having one the most impressive careers as well.
I got chills!!! To all steeler fans.....appreciate this man for the little time we have left with him. We have been so spoiled to have him all these years. What a fucking legend!!!!
i will never forget the pass to santonio holmes in triple coverage for the game winner. that super bowl was 2009 and i remember it like it was yesterday. one of tue best QBS to ever set foot on a football field
I watch this start to finish and when it shows the last drive against the Cardinals in the superbowl, As soon as Holmes catches that last pass, I get flashbacks from me and my family watching the game, and I just cry like a little bitch
Me too bro…. I was in Pittsburgh watching this game with family and friends. The drive before, Fitzgerald took it in for the TD on like 70 yards. The city was crazy afterwards. Something I’ll never forget
Who’s here after his lose to Cleveland? He had a hell of a game just too many INTs. But 500+ yards and 4 TDs is enough to win a game. Defense was also banged up
Came back here to watch after the recent news that this Monday might be Bens last home game as a Steeler, made me love the guy even more. Amazing video
I'm from pittsburgh and I remember the tackle Ben made vs Indy literally gave some guy a heart attack as he watched it unfold in a bar on the southside, it was the Bettis fumble that started it all
What a ride! Loved the 2004 draft pick and never looked back! First ballot HOFer all day long and a top ten quarterback all time! My wife and I were at Heinz Field Monday January 3rd for Ben’s final home game and it was absolutely electric!!! Legend!!! 🎉👍🏼🏈 It was a privilege to watch his career!
@@ArobismeLet me try to offer an explanation for this person since they never did. Talented does not mean best, you can be talented but not have that manifest as much as someone with less talent. Talent, imo, is basically natural ability vs learned ability. He is saying, I think anyway, Ben was the most naturally gifted qb at the time. I think there is a legit argument for that. He had a very strong arm, could thread the needle, scramble, throw defenders off of him, run, and do it all while playing at easily over 250 pounds. Most great qbs can only do one or two of those things very well but in his prime Ben had the ability to do it all well. You could argue he wasn't the best at some of them and I'd agree, but he was always top 5 or so at every one of those things til he got too old. And he of course had a good mental game, one of the more naturally clutch players I ever saw, he nearly always played lights out when it was desperation time.
I had the chills the entire time. Ben will always be my guy. He’s the only qb I’ve ever known for the Steelers. Even though I always cursed his name, I miss the hell out of him lol I’m praying he comes back!
@@pekfps2437 I mean they are both tied 3rd with 50 game winning drives, also brady has had 4 more years worth of games. So totally can be argued that Ben is better.
@@pekfps2437 what's your point? Yea because tge pats superbowls didn't have any * pfft. Also the greatest clutch moment in SB history was Ben won the super bowl against the cards on that last drive.
I don't understand how football analysts and experts have the audacity to put QB's like Rivers, Rodgers, Brees ahead of Big Ben.. Big Ben has been the third best QB in the 2000's since being drafted in 2004. It should go Tom Brady#1, Peyton Manning#2, Ben Roethlisberger#3 and then everyone else.. Ben has been a winner his entire career and can make all the throws and is clutch when it matters.. he's easily the most underrated and underappreciated QB of this generation and maybe all time.
Because he had the better game. When Roethlisberger was throwing to Holmes he was 9-13 131 yds 1 TD. When he was throwing to everyone else he was 12-17 125 yds 1 INT. On that touchdown drive Holmes had 73 yards. And it wasn't just the touchdown that got it for Holmes, it was the catch and run that set up that last play.

@@toddwynn3397 if u watch the play before Ben pump fake got Holmes that open . Just watch him draw 29 off when he pumped and acted like he was going to check it down . Then the saftey was late trying to pick up Holmes. If it wasn't for Ben the Steelers would have lost that game. Period. take ur stats and say what u want but that game winning drive was all Ben .
@@randymoyer9505 That last drive was at least as much Holmes as it was Ben. You can dismiss the stats, but Roethlisberger was an average QB when throwing it to anyone else. He was only an MVP when throwing it to Holmes, pump fake or no pump fake.
@@toddwynn3397 Big Ben threw a perfect pass to the left corner the previous play that the "MVP" let go right thru his hands. Then the actual MVP gave the bogus mvp another chance to be a hero. That is something Big Ben has been doing for 18 years. That is giving other teamates a chance to be a hero.
Today marks the day Big Ben retires. What a player. He will go down as one of the toughest and clutchest players in the game in the modern era. The 2 game 12 touchdown streak was insane. He is an animal and he will be missed. Than you Ben. Once a Steeler always a Steeler.
I will always be thankful for 18 years of Big Ben! He may not be the same to watch but he still has all his grit. Best 18 years of 36 years of being a born and bred Steelers fan. Met Ben more times than I can count, keep it humble as always Ben!
Who would have thought ben eould be a top 10 all time qb. You can debate it but there isnt 10 you can name better In history based on careers! Steelers✨
Absolutely love the shot of Larry Foote watching bens super bowl drive like a nervous kid in front of the TV. Truly captures what all Steelers fans were feeling at that moment. Couldn’t have asked for a better ending too. Go Steelers!
Ben should have been SB MVP of 43. One of the 10 greatest throws in NFL history. People forget how mobile he was in the pocket when he was young. Now we have a young QB in Rudolph, who in the pocket is about as stiff as Franco Harris' statue at the Pittsburgh Airport.
2yrs ago we had Ben, Brown, Bell, Bryant, Boswell, and JuJu on offense.. but the defense wasnt so good. last year, we lost Brown, Bell, and Bryant.. Ben gets hurt.. and the defense is one of the best.. smh.. a shame... :-/
I hope he can return and have a good season at least, he may not have as good of a season stats wise at 2017 and 2018 but hopefully he can recover. I hope he can play 2 more seasons and fulfill his contract. Steelers can't think QB in the draft this year in 2020 due to their lack of draft picks but have to be looking for the QB of the future in the 2021 draft
100% agree. Ben’s gotta get one more super bowl before he retires. Maybe we can be like the 2015 broncos and our defense can carry our aging quarterback
JMJArkansas40 nature he has to play in the 2021 season because I am born and raised in Nola but I live the Steelers my grandma like them in the 70s-80s before the saints were mediocre or even good and as a senior gift she usually has the garland sons ride in a parade... well I want to go to Heinz field and watch the Steelers play the saints in Pittsburgh
Great video, full of memories. I have been blessed to watch this man lead the Steelers. He's doing his best right now, but Father Time is undefeated. He has won against Big Ben and the offensive line.
