I am kinda curious about how he manages his time. I know they talked about his daily routine but to manage a moderately big company, work on his show, raise his kids (he said that he is always around them when they are home), read, work out and make time for his wife takes an enormous mental toll. Unless he has hired other talents to make sure that the company runs, I really want to know how he manages his time. I thought Rogan did was a lot since he is involved in so many things (comedy act, writing jokes, 12hrs of pod a week, UFC commentary and analysis, training).
@vincentm.andreassi186
@vincentm.andreassi186 Год назад
I don’t see how it’s possible. He’s got like 3 hours or less on weekdays between gym and picking kids up from school. So in 3 hours he’s reading, taking notes, and writing. The books he’s reading are dense, complicated books. I get that he’s bright, but fully digesting 3-5 books a week of that kind of material means we’re talking about reading near 1000 words per minute - of complicated shit, all the while with superb comprehension and retention. There may be good reason to doubt this is possible for anyone, no matter the level of genius or skill.
@Sid00077
@Sid00077 Год назад
@@vincentm.andreassi186 True. Ben is a smart guy. and probably a fast reader. But five books a week with his schedule, especially in his line of work where he needs to be up-to-date with every major news in the country, its hard to fantom someone being able to do that. But ig some people are really good at managing time.
@vincentm.andreassi186
@vincentm.andreassi186 Год назад
Oh no question. Some people are militant with their schedule and focus. I’m willing to bet some parts of these books are skimmed or skipped, that it’s probably more often 2-4 books a week, workouts don’t happen as often as he’d like, parts of weekends are devoted to reading (I think he mentions this along with keeping shabbos), and maybe even parts of the afternoon or occasional entire afternoons when his kids are home he’s actually gotta read for a couple hours instead of hang out with them. With a structure like that, you can pull off 5 books some weeks - but you’ve still gotta be Mr. Discipline, which I have no doubt he is.

@Mako2401
@Mako2401 Год назад
Speed readers (which i assume Shapiro is one of) can read about 50 pages per hour . Most books are about 200-400 pages long, so it would take him about 4-8 hours per book. If you spread it out throughout the week it's actually not that much especially if you don't watch tv or spend time on facebook
@Jesus.X
@Jesus.X Год назад
@@Mako2401 I don't believe a guy as busy as ben Shapiro would spend a minimum of 20 hours a week reading or a maximum of 40 hrs that sounds ridiculous and honestly a waste of time to be getting things done. @Jesus.X You can see it when Ben talks that he reads a lot. He did say 5 on a very good week. So he probably averages 3-4 per week. He probably reads about 150 pages per day. Ben is busy but he treats it like a full time job. He spends several hours a day working and then goes home. 8 work, 8 sleep, and 8 free time. He probably reads very fast. Depending on the material I am reading, it takes me 1-2 mins per page. He probably read 2-3hrs a day. He does it for fun. Just like you can play video games or watch TV for 3hrs straight and not even blink an eye, he looks at books like that. That's a lot of books. I listen to about 2-3 audio books a month and I read 2-4 physical books a month depending on the month. I am not anything special. So it wouldn't shock me if he does what he says he does.

There are no such amount of good books on the world (change my mind). Reading 5 per week doesn’t look like learning anything, it rather looks like an obsession with process of reading itself, which is not bad per se, but not super different from “consuming content” from other sources. Learning is not just reading books, is it? So, is it some sort of belief instilled in American schools from early childhood that “reading physical books == intelligence” or learning or whatever, why people are so obsessed with that
