Love your vids, great work. In your opinion do you think the 2ar is as strong as a honda k. Your making good na power, but how do you think they would handle a lot of boost? Cheers.
Based on what the tC folks are doing they seem to be able to handle at least 400whp on a completely unopened motor. There's really no info between that and Papadakis' 800whp and 1000whp builds. I will work on filling that in-between info over time.
Lol I did not expect that at the end ... damn planes !!!!! I also loved the split window between your explanation of your work, and the actual work itself. Very entertaining
Whenever i'm editing i try to clip out stuff that made me laugh in the edit and put it at the end like that. It isn't in every video but every couple videos there's a surprise if you stick around to the end :) The split screen thing worked well in this case and i will probably try to use that a bit more going forward as appropriate. It allows me to slow down the time lapses without people needing to skip forward if they don't care about the time lapse.
Even though I don`t currently have an MR2 ,,,, this is why I`m here . Little tips and tricks can be found everywhere . The little loop in the coil pack power wire is a new one for me . I`m currently trying to decide on a standalone ECU for my 1.8T swapped 914 project ,,,, the 1500 Elite is in that list .
Awesome, thank you for watching :) as for ECUs, depending on your engine's feature set there may be a cheaper Haltech that will work for you. Does it have DBW? what about variable cam(s)? anything else special about the engine?
@@FrankensteinMotorworks , It is a basic Audi 1.8T 4 cylinder . 4 injectors , 4 smart coil packs , 3 wire cam and crank sensors , the usual stuff . I am using an earlier TB that is DBC due to my Wilwood adjustable pedal assembly . I just added you into my Instagram as well .
@@JoeyWebber955 Technically you could get away with the Elite 1000 then but the price is very similar to the Elite 1500 so i'd proably just get the 1500 anyways so you have the DBW functionality if you ever go that way on a future build.
Great tips all around. The loop for #1, misc wire tips and the gas tank! I finally got my video up on the 2AR RWD conversion. Quality wise it's pretty bad compared to yours. In my defense filming was not my priority. Thanks for the awesome content!
Making a video certainly makes everything a lot slower. It's amazing how often the camera gets in the way of what you're trying to do. It's awesome that you're doing a build that nobody else has done yet.
