Hello KC, great video! What do you mean you had never prepped? Do you mean on models or also on real patients? Thank you for the links. I am just starting this journey and I am so excited but still a bit nervous about the test and the application process!
I’ve never prepped teeth in school. On either patients or models. In my home country I graduated med school, with additional dental courses, but not enough to actually be prepared for bench test so I had to teach myself
@@KCDoesDentistry this brings me so much hope!! I stopped practicing dentistry back in 2005, even though (modesty aside) I was darn good at it! But you know, life happens! I recently became a US resident and the 1st thing I thought: "I will be able to practice dentistry again and actually make a decent living out of it"! However, last time I checked, an internationally trained dentist only needed to be a legal resident, pass the boards and the bench test. Little did I know that regulations changed and now you have to study the last 2 years of dental school. I was baffled at first, but being a serial learner (I suffer from a chronic case of "coursitis") , I cannot tell you how excited I am to go back to dental school and relearn and master so many new techniques!
Hi KC. I love your content. You have been immensely helpful for me on this process. So my understanding is that you prepared on your own and did not go through any of the bench test courses, correct? I am thinking about preparing myself as well but I am also afraid of not preparing adequately! What are your insights?

I did find the plate on AliExpress (I know... maybe not the best source but it is what it is, so I've ordered it) I'm also trying to set up a dental unit at home, everything is hard to come by in Mexico so I can start practicing my preps. I stopped practicing dentistry a decade ago, but before that, I was practicing for more than 10 years (DO NOT do the math 🤣) I'm trying to get ahold of a micromotor with a foot pedal that is not surgical grade (too expensive to ruin it with artificial tooth dust)
