We follow Celine Watz, a farmer florist living in the picturesque Kanimbla Valley in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Celine is the owner of Floral by Nature, a floristry business which takes organic and Australian natives from her pesticide and chemical-free flower farm to her local community and to the eco-conscious bride for bouquets, flower crowns and wedding decor. Celine describes herself as a micro flower farmer because her flowers are grown in a controlled small environment which is completely managed by her alone without the use of commercial machinery. Celine shares her passion for locally grown flower cultivation and is an advocate for the Slow Flower Movement. She believes in a more sustainable future for Australian flowers which are locally sourced and free from harmful chemicals.
Celine takes us on a journey through the mountainous country side and by the river where her farm resides. She explains which flowers are growing and flourishing in the early Autumn months, a sensory tour filled with colour and sweet perfume. Celine shares the challenges and hardships her flower farm faces through extreme weather from Summer heat to flooding rains. Life on the flower farm has brought Celine closer to nature and the importance of preserving Australian soil and native bees for the future generations to come.
