The will never be anything else made to match this wonderful series. The humour/mix of British culture and the honesty to laugh at ourselves and others was a strength now sadly lost to modern script writers. The one thing we must remember is not to over watch Benidorm now, as in years to come this safety net of pure comedy will be a blessing to watch, again & again.
I do, too. I often watch one or two episodes before going to bed ... Benidorm or Still Game or Big Bag Theory ... good to go to bed on a laugh and they're always funny.
The ending of this will always get me. Not only because the series and their holiday came to a close, but because Geoffrey Hutchins died after filming this due to Meningitis. Such a national treasure ❤
Absolutely gutted to learn that Kenny Ireland - Donald - lost his battle against cancer. He helped make the show and it won't be the same without him. God bless Kenny...
Most characters could potentially be pretty easily replaced. However, I've always thought that neither Madge or Donald could. It just wouldn't work the same. They are unique. Be interesting to see what the next series brings.
10 years later and still a classic series. This ending was very well put together, and the show has done so much for the Benidorm tourism, like it or not It was well written and improved each series. Would love to see a 2022 follow-up show, where they meet up again.
They should do one all stuck in Alicante airport as the coach hasn’t turned up! And it’s worse service than solana used to give and it makes them miss it
Its odd as i lived in a really remote area in cornwall england during lockdown and it was absolutely no different. We had our own land so could still get out as normal, and as we never saw a soul from one week to the next apart from our postman it really wasnt bad for us but i can imagine how awful it probably was for you.. im glad you had this x Take care stranger xxx❤
Miss Mel, life is so short, I want to go back to Benidorm next year and relive all the great times I had there and remember all the gang from Benidorm.
When the main characters of any show/series pass away or leave, that show will never be the same. Somehow, speaking for myself, I can never get used to carry on with the new ones.
I don't like it when they attempt to replace the cast member like nothing ever happened, but I do like the addition of new cast members in an ensemble cast type show
This episode always puts a lump in my throat to think that Geoffrey Hutchings who played Mel Harvey died in real life " not long after this episode was aired . RIP Jeffrey Hutchings
@@a.tanner8524so? I was 19 and dated two 40yr old guys, dated a 44 year old at 25 and dated a 62 yr old at 35!! It's just a number as long as irs all consenting and that!
21:26 A crucial moment in Geoff's love life and his mother comes out with this: Can't tell you how disappointing it was when the last girl he went out with turned out to be a fella!! LOLOLOL
What I find adorable is how Mel and Michael have such a strong bond between them. He truly sees Michael as his grandson. But I think it goes to Chantelle also. He'd do anything for those kids.
How many of you wanted Kate to stay for that last lovely moment that Martin wanted to give her in the lobby?? Poor guy. Still, Kate knew she couldn't lead him on and let him think there was any chance for them to get together again. I was still moved by their moment at the airport though.
This would have been a perfect end to the series. Next series were good but lacked so many of the original cast. And you can only invent so many ridiculous plots, then it gets old.
Yeah I agree, this had the perfect ending for all the characters from the original series, the 4th one didn’t seem as good it felt more like a reboot with how different it was
It's a running gag with most of them. "All inclusive" is a big motivator for these holidays, so you get a bunch of tightwads going there. "Free" something is always mentioned.
It means blue, as in sad.. not the colour. Like when someones got the blues they are sad. So he is singing about sad spanish eyes. Triste… hope that helps xxx❤
Mel: ....So far, none of my efforts has been a complete success. Mike: Well, apart from the bacon factory in Israel, there's not a lot left for you to do! LOL
This is one of my comfort shows here lately. BUT I’ve never seen series 6 & 7!? I can’t find them ANYWHERE for free. I can’t subscribe to *another* service, the combined bills would be more the my car insurance payment! I miss Soap2day.
3:28 I’ve only just noticed in this episode that Mateo walks up ,sees Martin and then turns back Great detail ,considering Martin punched him a while back 😃😃😃
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?
