my friend presented the jocky club 3 times with evidence of race fixing. they refused to consider it and would not take his calls or reply to his letters. racing today has never been so bent.
This has got a lot worse now that there are betting exchanges whereby a jockey and connections knowing that their horse will not win can lay the horse and reap great profit by ensuring that the horse does not win therefore winning vast amounts of money by not even gaining access to the winning enclosure. It is absolutely disgusting as the average punter has no chance whilst this deceit and corruption exists.
The problem I have with this, is surely someone as streetwise as your average bookie, would not commit ANYTHING to paper? Surely they have enough money and connections to visit the trainer/jockey in question and have a 'walk' around the paddock with them?
You can play it as if it’s bent, backing beaten favourites etc, and you’ll still do your money. If you aren’t on the inside you’re shafted. Even those on the inside will shaft each other.
Pity reporters can’t do this nowadays!!! I saw a jockey blatantly jump off an horse at sedgefield 6 years ago but today’s jockey knows how to get boxed in and come always with that too late rattle!!! Ryan Moore and rab havlin to name but a few!!!
I really don't know why these trainers denied having accounts with VC because they weren't doing anything illegal so why worry? You can argue if it is moral or fair but presumably they weren't going to back their horses blindly by lumping on every runner they sent out even if it had no chance or else these accounts would soon by closed, so if they punted their own horse to win then this clearly told VC they fancied it and he could make use of that information.
The murky world of horse racing contributes to many millions of pounds being placed on these four legged animals and the bent dwarfs who ride them each day. Some of them are so bent that they find it difficult to lie in bed straight, and we are accustomed to reading and hearing of corruption in this and many other sports, but wherever money is involved and the rewards so profitable it is inevitable that dishonesty abounds.
Can anybody explain why I was refused a three figure bet on "Here Now And Why" running at Thirsk (1.55) yesterday (02 05 09) in my local Ladbrokes. Seeing that the second favourite VILNIUS was not running it looked a good bet even at skinny odds. But when I went to place the bet 5 minutes before the OFF I was informed by the manager that the most I could have on was £50. When I asked why he just replied that ALL Ladbrokes Offices had just recieved instructions that that was the maximum amount
At 8-05. I bet a load of people will think thats a 'head in the hands' 'Oh my God' Attitude. Those of us who wear glasses will know it means 'my eyes are bl**dy tired!'
Trainers are using jockeys to actually school their horses on public race-courses and this is often seen in races where it is obvious the jockey is not trying and often makes up ground to finish unplaced. Some jockeys ride as if they are stirring a cocktail trying to convince the punters they are trying their best and in saying that, some probably are but would find it hard to win a donkey race with two runners, in other words abosolutely useless.
The best you can hope for, is to make a few quid before the 'fix' goes in - bet before the off or early in running and you have a chance (a slim one - but a chance!).
There's a real diamond to the racing game, the delightful gaye, what a horror, what did her father say, i do not care about the welfare of the horses, terrible people
@innit27 you are right, it's an honorary debt and we don't have to pay out on a bet even after it's won. of course the punter does have IBAS that do police the industry incase of disputes...
Gay Kellaway is perfect in laying her horses and also lay there places., if its short price and then jockey's are instructed to make sure not be in first three in the field of 8 or if its 7 horses field then to finish either 4th or 3rd.she is a real crook...and mug.
that could be wagered and if I still wanted to place a bet it would have to be at SP only. I was totally gobsmacked. If that was not unusual enough a minute or so before the OFF D Nicholls trained horse FALASTEEN was withdrawn- which obviously meant that there would be a hefty rule 4 deduction (because Falasteen was now second favourite). Given the above FACTS something was obviously not right. Can anybody throw some light on this connundrum?
it seems where there is money involved there will always be corruption in the system.seems to be inside knowledge is the name of the game in the racing.what a shame.
how come most people without faces or identities on here have plenty to say about the integrity of racing. I've been in this business for many years as well and believe me when I say it's corrupt I know what i'm talking about. Not one person can tell me where or when corruption is taking place no matter what race course. it does not start or finish on any certain race course.
