I love how in the One Piece world, one of the most peaceful and docile minks is a polar bear type, while one of the fiercest warriors among the fish-men is a whale shark type.

@@sims2lovealot Bepo is the crew's navigator, but Penguin is not the first mate, and if there was one in the crew it would be Bepo who was the first to join Law and is considered the strongest after the captain
Heh, I don't accept Film Red as canon but I just can't ignore any possibility that Law in reality have such soft heart that Bepo can do everything with him because he seem soo cute to his captain. 😊

There’s a novel about it. Law saved him from being bullied by Shachi and Penguin when they were kids, just after he got rid of his illness iirc, so he was like 13 back then. Basically, they’re childhood friends 😂
Bepo ran away from Zou, looking for his brother Zepo (the one who was killed by Big Mom in Pedro's flashblack), but Bepo was a terrible navigator and ended up in North Blue on the same island that Law went to after he left the island where Corazon died, and Law found Bepo being bullied being attacked by Penguin and Shachi, then he saves him, and then the rest is the story of the novel, interesting thing is that Law technically avenged Bepo's Brother when he killed the Big mom
Not only that, he has the parallel with Chopper's berserk form, when he is in base form he is not as strong and is more of a Comic character, but when he is in Sulong form he is huge, Berserk and very strong.
